WOW! I remember when I first rode X, I was like 15 or 16 years old. Paul Ruben is the reason a lot of us are now coaster enthusiasts. I used to loooove watching him and his coaster specials on Discovery and TLC back in the early and mid 2000's. a true legend in the field.
Yes i remember they used a tool to unlock the seats, Damn can't Believe i forgot about that, & they would step on a pedal on the bottom to unlock them.
The only coaster that I have ever ridden 21 times in a row. It was media day and I still don’t know how I managed to do that without getting sick. But I’m glad I did because rides on it were much harder to come by once it opened to three hour lines, 1 train op, and entire days or even weeks of f closure. X was a mess in it’s early days, but what a spectacular ride it is. Wish there were more of these around as I do worry about the longevity of this ride with so few made.
Same, Swear it is the only ride that scares the hell out of me every single time ... That climb up backwards makes it seem way higher then it actually is.
The ride that ended up being the death of Arrow. While this ended up being the last coaster they would ever built, they truly did go out with a bang. My mind totally felt numb when I rode this beast. It took me over an hour to get on this ride, mostly because it was running with just one train. But GOD DAMN it was worth it. Hopefully the next time I ride this it’ll run with two trains so the wait time won’t be so long.

I was in the same boat as you, I rode the original X years ago not long after it first opened, but hadn't had a chance to go on it since because it was closed the couple times I went to SFMM between then and the ride closing for the refurb. Started going again this last summer, and let me tell you, it's an even better ride, and the effect weren't even working. Because of the newer, lighter trains, X2 is 5 mph faster than X was (used to be 70, now it hits 75 mph), and the whole ride just seems to be more intense. And for an even crazier ride experience, sit in the back (hint: hangtime in the inversions).
LooneyGamerYT they kinda went bankrupt halfway through the project and Six Flags had to find someone else to finish the project. But yes, it was the coaster to end Arrow. So sad.
Please enlighten me. How did producing this work of art end the company? I'd think that this would send them to the bank to make several large deposits due to the demand for more of these from other parks. Actually SF got a deal @ 20 mil!!!

At least if you are going to put out info, make sure that it is accurate. Cedar Point is the coaster capital of the world. I just had to correct that false statement! Peace.
Cedar Point and Magic Mountain were neck and neck with the record for a while (each constantly adding coasters to one-up each other). At the time this was produced, Magic Mountain had the record.
