Would I have to purchase this equipment to charge “2*7.4V 1200 mAh rechargeable Li-Po batteries” I’m new to rc and it’s overheating when I use any usb port to attempt the charge it
What is overheating, the charger or the battery? A usb charger should be easily capable of charging a 1200mah 2S pack. You could also look at something like the GT Power B3, but a smart charger is ideal for all lipo packs.
I have the same charger and bought 8500mAH battery, the charger has a maximum of 8.0a charging rate, can I still use it or it will undercharge my battery?
Some definitely can, like the SkyRC T200 - it has a proper lead acid battery mode and can recharge and float. Checks the specs for info on individual chargers.

It'll just take a bit longer, but work perfectly fine 🙂
I found myself wondering if you can charge car batteries with these chargers? As in, 12.5v lead acid starter batteries 🤷🏽♂️

The Hitech charger was good ,but it over charges all the time now . Not smart at all.
