Hey I'd love to see a breakdown of Anomalie too haha..some of the finest techniques seen in a jazz pianist tbh...and ridiculously sophisticated melody with a ton of inner motion
I’ve been waiting for Rob to get big enough for someone to break down his music into an understandable chunk for me. Thanks dude. You explained his style well
The chords make me feel nostalgia. It's strange to feel nostalgia for something that never was in my past. They also make me think of my cat. It makes me think of the sun shining through the living room window. The smell of wood from the floor boards, rufio lying on the window sill in his box, the sun bathing his fur. It makes me think of him growing up, it makes me think of the trust he developed in us and how he became an independent animal because we brought him up to feel safe in this world. They make feel so many things. Music is truly amazing, and the chords speak for so many feelings.. I wish I could describe how they make me feel more succinctly. Like every gift given, every first word, every first love, every tear, every laugh, innocence and sadness. It's beautiful stuff. Thanks for the breakdown of a great tune.
starting to get back into exploring neo soul/jazz/ rnb harmony again after about 6 years of very little playing due to medical reasons. These videos are soooo good. amazing information and laid out quickly and cleanly. If I had videos like this when i was in college my progression would have been much faster!
this lesson is very clear and understandable, i tried to watch other videos that that talk weird extensions and progressions but very few are as well laid out as yours
Maybe it's time to invest in an overhead camera so that people can see your finger positions. In the modern age of online piano learning it is more about visual observation of chord shapes. Seeing your hands on the keys gives the viewer instant reference and increases the ability to quickly adopt what you are teaching in the lesson. Also maybe check out Midiculous 4 pro it has a lot of cool features for presentation in tutorial vlogs. Love the content, keep up the good work.
3:50 why switching between notations here? Why not ii7b5 instead of IIm7b5 since you use the lowercase notation on the 1 chord. It doesn't get in the way of the understanding but I'm guenuinely curious. Anyway, awesome video! Subbed.
Hey, I know this is a year late, but I'm digging the content! Consider yourself subscribed! Also, what do you think about those 'X' min9 being minor Mu chords? Anyways, great job! Would also love to see more voicing information and maybe see the voicing written out! Keep up the great work!

Rob Araujo is Robert Glasperish with a heavy bebop influence in his solos.
My brain is on fire
Could you send the MIDI files? Just for educational purposes
