I grew up running outside to watch this as I only lived around the corner from the other barracks. Remembrance day parades in Windsor are my favourite. Can’t wait for my little girl to get to see them.
I used to watch these military ceremonies too when I lived in London (years ago}. My favourite was changing the guard at St James's Palace, but I believe you can't get near it now.
I was born in Dedworth, so grew up with the whole system of guards and Blues and Royals at both Victoria Barracks and Combermere Barracks. Saturday mornings shopping in Peascod Street and at 11 a.m. everything stood still by Queen Victoria’s statue as we waited for the band and change of guard as they marched from Victoria Barracks....great and happy memories to look back on. My granddad was a Grenadier for 12 years. My father-in-law was an RSM In the Irish Guards and my husband, Tony, was an Irish Guard too. All so great to have lived around and remembered too.
I lived in this wonderful Town for 25 years , if you have never visited , it is Englands precious Secret , simply Magical. The Changing of the Guard takes place daily , but it is only when the Royal Court moves to the Castle in April / May and our dear Queen is in Residence ( Britannia Herself ) that the massed Bands of Her Majesty's Guards march the length of Sheet Street , High Street around the Statue of Queen Victoria and up past Henry VIII Gate in to the Castle . If you don't feel British here ( and very proud to be so ) you wont feel British anywhere . Celebrate the Greatness of our People in this wonderful old Town . The Aircraft noise is the one spoiler , but made up for by the atmosphere . High Summer in Royal Windsor - Fantastic .
Great video as always! The marches are: Washington Grays Carry On The British Grenadiers Washington Grays Carry On General Mitchell The Grenadiers Return I thought that General Mitchell sounded brilliant, especially with all 5 trombones and Bass Trombone, you were in the best place for the full force!!
The guardsmen don't need protection. The police are there because if there is a minor disruption the police can attend to it without the guardsmen having to break formation and handle whatever is going on. Nothing sad about it at all, just efficient common sense.
How come the drummers in the bands of the footguards have their heads buried in their music yet the drummers in this band can play with and without music with their heads held high.
TheDrummie1 also sometimes they might have memorized the music better, it could be a really good or ok drummer.. I mean there are like a million reasons

The glorious music, the brilliantly colored uniforms, and the precision marching all cheer my heart.
As always: great to watch these ceremonies. Cheers from Holland.
I grew up in Windsor and often watched the changing of guard, but I never saw the Blues and Royals unmounted. Still smart !

Splendid! So smart; marching and music.
The life guards are the sharpest looking and most colourful of the guards regiments
Great video!! Congratulations 😍😍😍😍👏👏
고맙습니다.
Ilike washing videos congratulations
when they dry, try watching them lol
That's 2 thumbs up from me - well done.
Well done, I saw them recently before it got really cold, but I've never seen those guys in front marching usually only riding horses cheers
Please make a vid showing more of the little guardsman. Please.
A superb body of men, such precision and focus.
Impressive in all
When did the black and red switch sides??
Respect....
Especially the Tuba player!
Do the bands and guards now have an armed guard from the police escorting them? Sign of the times, or what?
You haven’t been to Windsor recently...
@@romeo9017 what do you mean by that?
It us like the Bronx at night, totally lawless...
Yes they do plus police support
road closures, anti-vehicle barriers, heck even the police carry grenade launchers (you can see it slung on the right of the officer @4:30)
Loving it👾
They kinda remind me of the Imperial guard from star wars in a weird way.
Wow that must be a no go zone
so proud.
fantastic
Brilliant
👏
2:40 a wonderful example of boring 3rd/4th trumpet parts... 😂
Sad that a ceremonial procession needs to be escorted by armed Police!

TechTog pretty sure the armed Police officers aren’t there for “minor disruptions”
there are scores attached on the instruments. couldn't they remember that?
There are literally hundreds of pieces of music in their repertoire. They have better uses for their time than memorizing scores.
March in the no go zones and give them Ammo
Maybe he’ll be useful somewhere else like the no go zones
How come the drummers in the bands of the footguards have their heads buried in their music yet the drummers in this band can play with and without music with their heads held high.
TheDrummie1 the guards tend to play more music and have more “things to do” but the household cavalry band have a little more time on their hands
@@Coldstreamer17 yea right. Lol.
TheDrummie1 also sometimes they might have memorized the music better, it could be a really good or ok drummer.. I mean there are like a million reasons
Instead of marching around the city and nobody’s there
RIDICULOUS ..... dont kill ! .
Thought the drum major would have a mace. Wait, he was cavalry. Anyway, great video!
Band Master, The Life Guards.
