- Today we take a look at The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC), Ansty Park, The Manufacturing Technology Centre, Ansty Park, Coventry CV7 9JU.
We was next door filming the Cadent video when we noticed the police arrive and speak to some staff from MTC.
When I asked the staff what the problem was, they refused to speak to me.

Never picked up on it yesterday, but the officer said to you "he's asked you not to fly your drone", when he hadn't even spoken with you!!! Whether the guy had misquoted what had happened to the officer, just to try and get you moved away, or the officer misunderstood what the guy had said to him. Either way, they could not stop you. Another great video!!!!
Manager was a right stinker lying and misleading the wet end of an officer who feebly tried to police by feelings . Nice one DJ .
Based on the absence of any cars in their car park, my guess is they don't want folk to know that they spent hundreds of millions of pounds building a white elephant.

Agreed. Government money being wasted ... Academics don't seem to realise that Industry does its own innovation and research, but on a realistic commercial basis, where value for money counts, unlike in academia.

It's a training centre, like a technical college, where people used to go to learn about how to do useful stuff, rather than tapping away at a keyboard, but more geared towards advanced manufacturing. the clue is in the name of the place. I know this because I know. 2 minutes of googling will tell you all you may want to know about the place. Or you could just assume that, because there isn't many cars in the car park, that nothing much happens there.
Public sector money??? But you can't access the public roads.
TL:DR; DJ has a longer and more meaningful conversation with a swan than with any people from MTC.

This is only a thought but...if you're not breaking the law and you're not driving a car why is it legal for the police to try to get your ID from the registration on a motor vehicle? The police didn't know who you were, but they had no right to know who you were.
Because they are only on this earth to criminalise everything you say and do..
That’s an interesting point. Police need to have a lawful reason to access PNC, there are very strict rules (jobs are at risk if police or staff are not acting lawfully - even prosecution), it’s not just there for curiosity value, data protection is very strongly in place. So what reason is given to access the data on someone acting lawfully? Not sure that is in line with PNC rules.

Great vid again DJ, all I can add is the fact that the sign ref "Working Police Dogs" is because dog handlers use the site for training purposes, so many places to hide things for them . There are many different types of sites throughout the UK that offer them this type of facility.

@@DJAUDITS I find the music you use very annoying but maybe it’s just me 😂 I’ve recently bought the DJI Mini 2 but I’ve not had much chance to fly, it’s been very windy lately.
I really enjoy the music. Guess it shows we are all different.
Loved the interaction with the swan, he was pretty cool, even spoke back to you, nice fella! It's a shame the guy from yesterday didn't reappear to try and stop you flying the drone though, would have liked to have seen that interaction and what he thought he could do about it. I love how the bold guy couldn't even bring himself to even look at DJ, that's sheer dominance. I was impressed the swan didn't have a public meltdown over being recorded.

Hi DJ, If you go to 7.25 , on the LHS of the pond you will see five pumps that are connected to a filtration system. After some research found out that the purpose of the "pond" is to supply water for their fire suppression system. Normally the water would be in the large tanks that you have encountered at other locations.

Yes DJ you are one of the most knowledgeable auditors out the and I was wondering if you could do a video mainly aimed at educating the viewers on all of the main laws with regards to auditing / filming / any other general laws the police like to abuse on the general public and what to say / do in those situations. The vast majority of people I know will just do what an officer tells them to, so a video to educate them would be very much appreciated!
Interesting to see the Fanuc facility very close to the mtc building. Fanuc are leaders in developing CNC machine tool controllers and robotics control systems. There is a similar science park at Catcliffe near Sheffield. When I worked for Rolls-Royce I attended a seminar on laser welding techniques. The building where this took place was a joint venture between RR and the Welding Institute.

How long have you been flying the drone for man? I've been looking to get one but worried about crashing it.
It doesn't take long to master it. If you don't move the controller then the drone just sits there in mid air locked onto the GPS coordinate. You should try it.

Road names usually give hints as to historically what was there rather than the current business- "pilot way" probably indicates the site used to be areodrome/airfield

That company has a web site that describes what they do and has photos of some of what's inside. You could perhaps do a rudimentary Google search before filming and save yourself a great deal of inaccurate speculation.
Road names cannot be relied upon to refer to the nature of business or activity currently taking place in an associated building - and if anything secret were going on you can bet that such names would be misleading rather than descriptive. Pilots are not only found in aeroplanes. Ships use pilots when coming into port. You can also have a "pilot project" and your gas boiler might have a "pilot light". In general the word means "to guide" either literally or figuratively, which could be what the person who named the road had in mind.
Using a drone over a private building where it causes annoyance to the occupants and then refusing to cease when asked is a pretty sure way to ensure that new restrictive laws will be brought into force.

Pilots also steer ships safely into ports and up rivers etc. My take on this institution is that they are training or genetically modifiying swans to take on that role. 🤔

If someone asks politely if they may enter your gate and take pictures of your flower beds and water feature, I expect you would welcome them. If however you were to look out your window and unexpectedly see someone wandering around your garden and flying a drone over your house to look round the back without speaking to you first, you may well not be so kindly disposed toward them - even if entering a person's garden without permission is not against the law (unless they have been told not to do so beforehand either personally or by means of a general "no trespassing" type sign). "I know my rights" may well save you from the law, but it doesn't mean that other people have to welcome you with open arms. To do that requires a bit of polite consideration for other people's feelings.
Only thing wrong with the site was the obnoxious arrogant staff.

It is the best kept grounds I have even seen in all your audits. Ok so it's our money they have spent on keeping those grounds in immaculate order so they have an open budget for that. Two things 1. I for one think its money well spent and exhibits a professional impression. 2. Take note all other companies and use that site as a bench mark of tidiness. Once you set the standard , it costs little to maintain it. I noticed German companies in this country you have audited also have good grounds. All UK companies out there take note. Lets as a country put on a good show to Uk and Overseas visitors. It's not difficult. DJ another very good audit. Thanks !!!!

In my extensive experience the nicer the building the worst the employer - I don't know about you but I'd rather have few more quid in me paypacket than a bl00dy stupid swan lake ?
Hes got no idea what he's talking about. A tank storing untreated rainwater that isn't cycled would go stagnant. There should be regular maintenance, as legionnaires disease is a massive thing in our industry. Once upon a time I was a mechanical foreman responsible for all plumbing, heating and ventilation on jobs like this.
The last RWHS I worked on was in a wind farm. It used to cone in through a perfectly level pipe from the gutter into a plastic tank in the attic. The level pipe acts as both a supply to fill the tank and an overflow. The tanks generally have a cold water mains backup on a float switch to fill the tanks during dry spells.

lol, don't be fooled, i worked for electronic arts (the games folks) in chertsey, purpose built building with a lake, it's own restaurant, bar and cinema, next door neighbours mclaren, we had couthards and raikonnen's f1 cars in the foyer (2000?), the front was used in the film inception - one of the worst places i ever worked.
