Am I the only one who was really interested in learning what these songs sounded like in different languages when I was like… 5? I’m in my mid-teens now and I thought that urge to find out was gone for years, but its recently come back with a VENGEANCE.
My mom´s reaction to it was that it sounds like something the DDR´s "Pioneers" would sing, so maybe it was made by translators from the DDR? Or intended for the DDR? It was still around when DuckTales first aired, after all. My mom actually is from the DDR btw., so she´s heard these "Pioneer" songs quite often, I imagine. It personally reminded me of old (marching) music from the forties to sixties, audio mixing and all, which I only know about because of some old cassetes of mine and searching for a song from a musical and stumbling across a song of that kind with the same name. So bleh! As a german that has had singing lessons, I can tell you that the singing is just awful too, and the lyrics don´t really blend together with the song well at all.
