Funny you mention that. I became friends with Woody around 95 and attended many Allman Brothers/Govt Mule shows after that. One Allman show In particular as I walked up to Woody after the show he was absolutely beaming smiling ear to ear just looked at me and said "Man did you hear that it was Jazz that was total Jazz" and he was right 7 guys firing on alll cylinders taking us to the edge.

@@StudioB7 I’ve changed my mind a million times since I posted this comment. Fillmore East 1970 was once a favorite. I prefer the first version that appears on the album, “Fillmore West ‘71.” Unfortunately Duane left this world too early and there aren’t enough live recordings of him playing so I’ve over played everything I can get my hands. The version with Zakk Wylde has been my recent favorite.

Privileged to see this lineup 3 times from 1994-1997. They were simply amazing. This was not a band of aging rockers looking for a second wind or last gasp. They were at the top of their game, playing with an energy that would embarrass musicians 20 years younger.
The early-mid 90’s were the absolute golden years of jam bands. And this Allman Brothers might have been the best of an incredible group.

Ryan - appears to be a Modulus 18-string -> need some beastly-strong left hand muscles to tame that thing - plus, every pick attack going through 3-strings (tonic + 2 in unison -> 1 octave up) I was at this ABB show in '91. So great this clip was posted!
