    The valley of Buttermere, south of Keswick is amazingly beautiful. It is often called the most beautiful valley in England. At the bottom of Borrowdale you go over Honister Pass (steep) and go down to Buttermere which is a perfect Lake, but the village can get very busy at Bank Holidays and Weekends.

    A beautiful area. In summer it can get very busy for obvious reasons. If you love nature then the Lake district is a must. I would suggest that you try Snowdonia in Wales, another National park. Keep up the great work

      It really is beautiful! I can imagine it gets very busy in the summer. And I’d love to visit Snowdonia!! There are tons of places in wales I’d like to go :) thanks so much!

    Its my favourite place in the world.
    If it didn't rain, there would be no lakes!🤣🤣
    Good advise to rent a car outside of London.
    There are mountain Goat Tours, where they take you to the harder to get to places in a Mini-Bus.
    It gets busy in the summer, but the first two weeks of July are OK.

    Return train fares are not double the single fare. If you book a return ticket, the return portion is considerably less than the outward journey, sometimes just a few pounds.

    The W in Keswick is silent. It's pronounced Kezzick. A lot of tourists get the name wrong.... As someone who lives in the Lake District, yours is one of the better tourist videos I have watched.. I've lived in the Lakes for 66 years, and I haven't seen it all......

      @@SheRunTheWorld It's great you have discovered that there is way more to Britain than just London! And that's good, because many tourist often feel London is it, with little more to see. Another place you might like is York, a similar distance from London, but nearer the East Coast of Britain. York was pretty much founded by the Romans, and much of their architecture remains, including the city walls, some of which you can still access and walk along. York Minster Cathedral has to be worth a visit too, with it's incredibly magnificent stonework, inside and out. Immediately opposite the main entrance to the cathedral is Betty's Tea shop, where many US airman based in the area during WW2 liked to meet.....it still retains it's olde world feel.. York has a major railway station, and so is accessible via the UK rail network..... You will probably be amazed at some of York's very narrow streets, with shops etc. Many of these go back hundreds of years, and I have heard some tourists say it feels like a film set. But rest assured, it isn't.....

    How do you get to the Lake District from other parts of the UK? We don't all live in London.

    • @SheRunTheWorld
      @SheRunTheWorld  6 днів тому

      I’m not sure! The hard part is the London is well connected to all parts of the UK and most other places aren’t. The exact reason why I live in London 😂

      If you like to hike, I’d say so! There are so many areas to explore and hikes to do. But I’d make sure it’s good weather, otherwise it won’t be worth staying that long!!

      Hi! I’m American. I live in London which is why we’re coming from London to go to the Lake District and since it’s the biggest and most visited city in the UK, it’s safe to assume most people visiting the UK on holiday will be in London as well :)
