I think I know London pretty well but you always manage to feature places I don’t know. Your films are sooo watchable because of your presentations and the filming/sound professionalism.
I used to work at ROH and part of the reason the building was designed was so that there was public space in Covent Garden (which is all privately owned land). Everyone who works there is super friendly and very keen for more people to use the public spaces during the day!
Brick Lane in general for some of the best food in London- it is a city that runs on curry (at least late at night). Also London has loads of amazing museums, but few people know about the Sir John Soane's Museum. It is just an amazing collection of "stuff" of one of the great collectors of Georgian England.
As a Londoner I totally disagree. Brick Lane restaurants are mainly Bengali, not Indian and actually tend to be generically 'indian'. And not that special. Indian food varies hugely from area to area and there are actually many far far better restaurants that specialise in cuisines from specific regions.
Oh wow - that 1969 London Tube map! I would love to see that. My first visit to London was in June 1971 and when I returned this year for the first time since that trip, it took me a little while to adjust to the Tube because it seemed A LOT more complicated than it used to be. Of course that didn't surprise me because a lot can happen over the course of 50 years, but I wondered what it looked like back in 1971 and you just happened to find the map!
I’m going to London this august and ( I know that it’s the tourist season) you have really helped me to find the hidden gems instead of me and my family spending 2 hours in the London eye line . I’m totally subscribing ❤❤
Hidden Gem ! Green Lanes in Harringay, just up the road from the Square Mile. Go past the Green Lanes rail station and your into little Turkey. Food in the restaurants is amazing and the fresh cake shops irresistible. And it's less than HALF PRICE of anything your find up in the city.
i've been going to London on and off since my teens back in the 80s, so I guess i'm a fairly seasoned visitor. But I just wanted to say that I've learned a lot of really cool stuff from your excellent channel. Thank you Jess.
I loved this video since it tell us about places which are off the beaten track. There are many hidden gems in London which many don't know about, I happened to visit a few in May & June 2023. I am from India and I visited UK for the first time this year on my friend's insistence, he has been living in London for the past 45 years. One interesting place was Forest Hill, it is a picturesque place which has a small botanical garden and a museum; I wouldn't have known about this place if my friend hadn't taken me there. The other is Ladywell Fields Park, a very pretty place near Catford station in Lewisham Borough, it has a stream flowing through it and has a history dating back to the Roman times; my friend's house is right opposite this park. Another interesting place which is actually outside London is Seven Oaks, a quaint little town in Kent, my friend took me there primarily to show me the English countryside. I plan to visit London again in May/June 2024 and try to discover for myself a few more hidden gems.
BS. I don't even believe that is your real face. Your whole pitch is blatant copy and paste. Clearly your evangelist pals(despots) are aiming to take south London.
I was just in London, and The Royal Opera House was one of the places I went to. I also went to The Anchor, where they had takeaway cocktails. Not something I would have expected.
Great video. I'm not in London, but when I meet any visitor I always try and get them to visit the Regent's Canal - it's a great 9 mile walk from Paddington to Limehouse basin, passsing loads of interesting places. A particular favourite is the narrowboat pub. The canal towpath is on the north side of the Canal so gets the full blast of the sunshine all day and has a lovely warm microclimate
Hi Jess - I know this is not really relevant to this video content but I wanted to share for other viewers. I have just traveled from London to Paris and Brussels to London via Eurostar trains. I was in Standard Premier class (right in the middle). Everywhere I read that I would be able to access the Eurostar Lounges in the train stations using my Amex Platinum. However, when we tried to enter, we were told that, although Amex Platinum cards do entitle holders to entry, if the card is issued in the US they will not let you in. Just want to give others a heads up! Thanks for everything you do!!
You Must go to Kahve Dünyasi at 200 Piccadilly next to Waterstones and There are Nice Turkish Chocolate Stuff and Also You Must go to Fresco at 25 Westbourne Grove which there are a Nice Fruit Smoothies and Nice Lebanese Foods.
I've just finished booking hostel in Peckham individual room with more than a reasonable price for the week in July. Thank you so much for getting me inspired to come to London with your unbeatable charm. I watched dozen of your videos. Drink on me if i were lucky to meet you on the streets of London. Greetings from Croatia
I lived in Devonia road N1 2 streets back from Camden passage in angel all my life ( 40 yrs ) I’m now 25 minutes out on the central line in Loughton Essex which was strange at first but I love the cleaner air “ thank you for your great videos and finds in town that aren’t touristy Best wishes Philip

Dark Sugars is amazing. I have bought chocs there and also tried the hot chocolate too. Super yummy! But they used to have a bigger shop in Brick Lane, pity that one is gone.
Hello, My journey is still forming. I wonder where can I find a not well knowed public, outdoor, free of charge attractions and points of interests. For example: Lewisham's Micro Library (Phone box with books) Mr. Bean statue at Leicester Square, Mini Big Ben Tower close to Victoria Station, Platform 9,3/4 at King's Cross station, Nothing Hill Book Shop (and other movie locations, 007, Bank Job, Sherlock Holmes ,Lock, Stock And Two Smoking , Sherlock Pub etc.) HMS Belfast, Museums without hype (Transport Museum) interting buildings, squares (Chinatown) What could you suggest, or do you have a such kind of video in this topic from before? Many thanks for your help
Great & informative video- did not know about dark sugar!❤ thanks love. Would be interesting for you to cover those historical towns & villages just on the outskirts of London. England has so much to offer as does, Scotland, Wales, Ireland.❤
I love London and as a tourist I came so many times but every time I saw always the same things.. until i found your channel!! ❤ if you can do a video about all the places family friendly would be great!!! 😅
I discovered Camden by accident, well not really by accident, there is a tiny amusement park in a basement in Camden, so i walked to there from the underground and Camden has a very special vibe to it, which i can't really explain. It is really a place of its own.
Will be visiting Dark Sugars next time I am in London, those hot chocolates look amazing! I found your channel by accident today, and as a frequent visitor to London from up north (Wigan) I have subscribed so I can see the hidden gems

Great video. I just want to visit the British Museum and then get out of London in favor of the provinces - Cornwall and the Lake District for starters.
Crikey….a first. I tried out Dark Sugars last month when visiting. Yes grey hot chocolate….the shavings are bonkers….and there are cool places nearby including cheap bagel shop where they make bagels on site. Just one thing Dark Sugars does not have much if any seating so be ready to find a dry spot/seat nearby
Excellent video Jess well done. My wife loves Covent Garden so that Opera House terrace has moved to the top of my list for birthday fizz. Also those chocolate shavings are huge...x

Also kudos to the advice about using my own credit cards! Didn’t need to purchase any type of card to put money on and use there. My cards and Apple Pay were all I needed except for a few merchants that only took cash, of which $200 pounds was more than enough cash for a week! I noticed in this video you blurred a lot of people’s faces. How do you usually go about getting permission from people? Do you make a general announcement and ask if anyone doesn’t want to be filmed, or do you go up to each individual that was in the background and ask them if they are ok or not with being filmed?

Not only am I born and bred in London but work in Kings Cross and I’ve never heard of Camley St Park! Great find, Jess 👍🏼
Enjoy!! ❤️❤️
No long ago it was a cesspit. Filth. Drug addicts. And Camley Street is a taxi drivers toilet.
I love this. ❤ I’m not a major tourist exhibit-type traveler. Exploring and experiencing the local vibe is so much more rewarding! 🎉
We're glad you enjoyed it!

If you like curry go to Southall. That is where Indian community lives. Brick Lane is Bengali
Another excellent video. You make London a less daunting place to visit for those of us who have never been.
