Most people think they understand what desire is. But there's a vast difference between true desire and a simple want or wish!
This is where many people who study the Law of Attraction become discouraged, because they think that if they simply want something badly enough, the object will magically manifest.
But in order to transform a desire into reality, the feeling of wanting has to be turned into what Napoleon Hill calls “a burning desire,” because there’s actually an art and a science to transformation.
The art to transformation requires you to dream about and envision the object of your desire. The science of transformation requires that you align your vibration to the object of your desire.
When you put the art and science of transformation together, it becomes what Napoleon Hill calls a burning desire.

Juat watched this. Love the clarity between a wish and a burning desire. I am 81 and I have a burning desire to share what I have learned in my life that has brought me to a place of joy and peace. The outward manifestations have taken many forms, including authorship of three books, and now the founder of an international academy that encourages souls to examine the blocks that keep them from their true nature as a Beings of Love and Light. Thanks Mary for your clarity.

A burning desire must be PASSIONATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have previously given up after feeling what I want and sat back into ‘I don’t have yet’ and that’s what’s in my way 🙌
For me, it was when you asked when was the last time you had a burning desire. It put me right back into that feeling, and I knew EXACTLY what you meant. I recently went through a transformation and it was 100% going to happen, regardless. It was scary and I'm still in it, but I made it happen with a literal burn in my gut and unwavering mental decision. No one could have stopped me if they tried!
I love, love, love the idea of declining to be discouraged. I used to think that discouragement happened to me and I had no control over it. This message, "I decline to be discouraged,' is really very empowering! I am truly looking forward to your webinar tomorrow. Thank you for this opportunity.

It was 3:50pm on 4-28-23 when I seen this video.
What I got from this one was that I might be good enough to be able to this, because I truly do have a "Burning Desire" in my heart of hearts to help other achieve what that too can do to live a much better a much better life.
And I'd really do this even if there was no pay involved. I just want to help others understand, if I can do it, so can they. God has certainly brought me a long way thru my life, recover from my addiction to alcohol and drugs, then save my life from a broken neck, the death of my husband last years, then..not only once he saved my life but 2 times from a brokenness within 6yrs!!!! So I have a story to tell, and share with folks, and many other situations also.

What you shared about commitment was so powerful. It reminded me about when I was in college. In my sophomore year I had left home and was doing ok in school. But when I got to my Senior year I was really struggling with time management. If I didn't make a change, I would have failed on the commitment I had made to myself since I was in High School. It was that commitment that caused me to make the change to finish college.
The insight I got is that I am on the right path to achieving my burning desire.
Declining to be discouraged is like a great statement to moving forward.
I decline to be discouraged - that is my new mantra - thank you
I was not prepared to be so moved by examining my past "wishes." I look forward to developing that burning desire to attain the life I wish to lead.

I decline to be discouraged! Great way of hitting the nail on the head! I receive that! I am NOW going to choose to decline being discouraged! I love that! I am even going to say it in my " out loud " voice to any naysayers. I JUST DID! MY FIRST NAYSAYER! YAY! IT WORKED! SHUT HIM DOWN STRAIGHT AWAY!
I like the point about how just wanting something, thinking maybe, what if, or only if, actually creates a gap between you and your dreams. That “gap energy” is something I’ll be mindful of.
Yes! It's the few who make the bold decision to close that gap and achieve the dream.

I've listened to Mary over the past few years. I learn something new each time I listen and watch her videos. Today's AHA was the difference between the want and burning desire and the energy they each produce. I listen to her Abundance mediation every day and have noticed an uplift to my day. Now going deeper and changing to a burning desire will continue to change my vibration I live from. Thank you.

That wish energy actually creates a gap. You need to be the person living that life with what you have and where you are. This is amazing insight!
I am currently "Retired" and working. Im doing what I love but again, for someone else. I have a desire to make this "gift" I have render the freedom to acquire my dreams while at the same time to know I am helping others to escape the misery they believe is a lifestyle bestowed upon them from somewhere outside of them. I want to share simple tools for them to build into lifeskills so they can live in happiness and peace. I do this and have done this work ( for someone else) most of my life. Its time for me to claim it for me.
Let me give an eg of a great sole. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam (former President of India, and a scientist). He always say, "THOSE WERE NOT DREAMS WHICH U SEE WITH A CLOSED EYES, DREAMS R THOSE WHICH DON'T ALLOW U TO SLEEP". He actually explaining the burning desire, that makes u to take action plans.
I've read Hill's book but it's good to hear and be reminded of the info. Sometimes we forget what we know. My motto is that "no is not an option." When we lose focus, we let fear, depression, and inertia run our lives.
Burning desire is so true. Often I speak with people and I feel so under qualified, and time and time again they assure me, my passion shows through. I have to learn to keep going.

Napoleon hill when I was 16 or 17. I have believed in it since then and have a loud all of life’s realities, in your face, to get in the way. I’m stepping back into myself, hopefully, and believing in what I I am meant to do while I am here

I realized while you were explaining wish and shift energy that I had actually done more recently to shift my energy closer to my goals. I smiled, because I'm actually living closer to my goals than ever; I turned my Faith2Action!
Mary I have always had abundance in my life Right now it is so amazing I hardly know what to do with it BUT I have been unable to attract the money I need to do my Burning Desire. For me it's easy to get into the energy of what I have a burning desire for. Allowing myself to practice this daily will help close the gap. I've heard before you "only have to ask for it once" than let it go. But I'd rather practice "being in it" more often to live into my intention. That makes it real for me.

We can commit and not have to know how it’s fully going to play out, but we must have the burning desire the way to go beyond the internal mechanism that pushes us, and allows us to go beyond

The insight I gained is I can have what I want if I just make the action to have it. Instead of wishing, believing, trusting, the burning fire the energy that make energy energy itself makes it happen.
That moment for me was how you put into perspective the difference between the wish, and the desire. I also enjoyed how you explained each section, and gave examples. While listening to you this evening, I remember a time when I did write down my goals, and they actually did get achieved. I do not know why I stopped doing this, as I still have some goals I really want/desire to achieve! I love the statement, "Change your Attention to match your Intention." "I decline to be discouraged."! "The want has to be turned into a burning desire." I have been studying the law of attraction since last year, and its incredible how powerful our mind can truly be, for there are things I was doing that I did not play second thought to, and not realizing that I was speaking words such as, "I can't, I wish' I don't know, I am scared, what if...not realizing that by not only thinking this way, was a feeling that I created within myself that literally blocked me from moving forward, I was literally hurting myself without even realizing this, until I was called a "NEGATIVE person", by someone I love and was so hurt. "I thought to myself, I am not a negative person, what are they saying, why would they say such a bad thing to me"? I felt deeply saddened. I really do not remember the actual moment I came across, "The Secret", and "The Law of Attraction books", but once I started to read each page, I started to realize that this person was indeed right about me. I was blocking any positive energies and or things that I desire to come through, because I did not focus on what I wanted/desired, I focused on what I did not want, and the more I focused on that, the more I got further and further away from my goals and my desires, because they just seemed to far a reach. One year later, here I am and I know correct myself immediately if I start to say and use negative words. I also noticed that complaining about things, won't change this, unless I sit and focus on finding a resolution. I also realized that things do change and nothing stays the same, no situation will remain and stay bad for a long time, we just need to learn how to deal, control our thoughts and our words and move forward and make it better for the next day, and the day thereafter. I am truly grateful to my friend for telling me about you and I will listen to you everyday and will share this with everyone I know. Blessings, thank you Mary.
My take away: art & science are the winning combination to generate a burning desire. For a potent change to occur, I must change the pitch of my vibration. I will commit to doing whatever it takes to move my burning desire into form I decline to be discouraged. So how do I build the fuel for burning desire? WOW. 😊

Never knew about the gap between wishing to be stable in every section of my life and having the burning desire to having that stability. Now that I know, I am excited to see what's going to happen when I really get a grasp of that burning desire.
I know this works! I've done it without actually knowing I had the burning desire and I attracted exactly what I wanted. But years and life and struggle got in the way and I became discouraged. I'm now encouraged, and "decline to be discouraged" ever again!

When we discipline ourselves to think of what we want as if it were already here for us, we must actually feel what that’s like. Not just think it but feel it. And when we feel that excitement we can hold it in our hearts and feel the absolute gratitude for it. This will crystallize your desire and now you’re open to the infinite possibilities of “the how” and all we have to do is notice them and take inspired action towards our desire. Thank you Mary❤️

Hi Mary, my commitment right now is working toward getting my own business up and running. I have had people say that it is too hard to start a business, but that maybe for them I will admit tho at the beginning the hardest part was filling out the forms to apply for the business, but my determination, faith and yes desire to be my own boss is so much greater I truly know that! Because today I completed the forms and emailed them. And I am glad definitely glad that I did not give up! Thank you Mary I am grateful for your talks.🤗

The aha is: I’ve had the idea for project for a VERY long time, (more than 20 years). The financing never became available! The project never ventured far from the file cabinet in my mind. However, over the years it expanded! Although viable, resarched, expanded, my life continued without reaching goal. “Changing attention to intention “ is the missing key!
I planted, and watered, it didnt grow because it wasnt nurtured with burning desire, so it waited in the wish mode for me to change my thought process. I just submitted paperwork to a potential investor, which is the beginning of Aha!!!!

Hi Mary, I greatly appreciate your work and so happy to find all these treasures. I love your teachings, meditations, all of them. I am practising forgiveness, and gratitude since months now. After a life purpose consultation I had a vision to help parents to change the way children grows. In 2015 started to work with parents and children and gain valuable experience to have credibility in my coaching, training business. I should be able to start now, but feeling stuck. May is the symptoms of lacking the burning desire, or the fire gone during these extreme years of challenges, difficulties?
