I remember back in highschool my headphones broke, so I could only listen to Adrian before sleep on the Live after Death. The clear separation made me appreciate both guitarist even more
Love how you have Adrian's playing isolated! I agree..he never got the camera exposure live Davey. Love the way his sound is gritty with more distortion. Awesome player! Was bummed when he left in the 90's.
I couldnt agree more! Dave was always more exposed in footages than H... He deserved more exposure. Despite when we watch Maiden England, than its all perfect, in my opinion... But its sad to see it :(
I absolutely love this album, live after death is so bad ass, recorded at long beach arena for 4 sold out nights, yes this is on Adrian's channel, you can hear Dave on one channel and Adrian on the next channel when listening to it on a stereo or headphones, Iron Maiden are my favorite metal band of all time, this song is so bad ass right off the bat!
The real fact is this: Great guitarrist, but the magic is when you hear both parts together, their tones are the right couple. And the rhythm section (bass guitar and drums) is the bed. Bruce??? Bruce is The born child.
I wonder if Smith and Murray played the clean guitar parts by turning down the volume knobs or changing amp channels but kept some grit in there. Smiths rhythm playing is tight
Back in the days, the turned the volume down. Recently, there is a switch on the channels (at least in Adrian’s case). You can hear it clearly on the Adrian Smith Guitar Channel on Coming Home (En Vivo). You can find it on YT. Cheers!
I just wish this was the actual album version and not the video version...don't get me wrong, both versions are magnificent just like Maiden and Smith are,but I miss that third note pinch harmonic right after the slow part from the Interlude...that really changes the whole thing and makes it sound more passionate and more rock n roll in a way..check it out for yourself, up the irons!
Ha - Funny - I'm the opposite! It's my fave AS solo so I prefer the album version (no pinch harmonic) - I love this isolated one. Smith's vibrato is brilliant, and the way his tone just swirls around when he bends during the solo is fabulous.
I have the .mogg file for the album version, there's about 14 separate tracks on there alone. The clean part Adrian plays backing Dave's first solo is just....magic tone, man
I know exactly what you mean even though it is 25 years since I last heard it - forever stuck in my head! Just sets the whole solo off and takes it to next level.
I never realized how much high-mid he played with. Holy smokes, it's almost shrill. In the mix it sounds good, but I don't know if I personally could do that for a guitar tone.
love to get this bad quality fan filtered from a 35 years old record.. but it s not fair to what was the moment and real technical feeling of the playing and crowd hearing..
@@Endo-uu8mo listen to the Spotify one, and listen the solo than clean up your ears, im not saying that it's not Adrian in live after death, i'm saying that it's another version
ADRIAN THE BEST GUITARIST IN MAIDEN BY FAR AND A NICE GUY I LOVE DAVE TOO BUT GERS DOESNT SUIT THE BAND AND HIS LEAD BREAKS ARENT ANYTHING SPECIAL EITHER
Adrian Smith is also the best songwriter out of the '3 amigos'. I do like Janick Gers though and I think all 3 guitarists have a place in the band and complement each other. Gers comes up with some unusual sounds and ideas. Nearly 30 years of service - he's part of the furniture now!
Kon Adam I'm 50 years old grew up in Long Beach Riverside in the 80s listen to every metal band there was an Iron Maiden surpasses by far every metal band from that area lyrics to singing instrumental Beyond anything anybody was doing at the time Iron Maiden rock on I will always love you

Yeah, I used to do the same with my broke Iphone earphone, his playing is so smooth yet agressive
great comment!

So underrated. I loved the stereo between Dave and Adrian. The '80s were so great!
That's why this is the best-ever hard-rock and metal live performance ever recorded.
no. just no
It very well could be...
Agreed
Yeah
Ozzy Osbourne/Randy Rhoades Tribute
Steve's bass is awesome on this song too.
H is just something else, great tone and superb vibrato. What a great combination between him and Davy. Absolutely brilliant band.
During the 80s Dave was my favourite guitarist but as I've grown up and become a pretty good musician myself, Adrian is now the GOAT.
Live after Death, the ultimate live album
Amazing. Adrian is the best!
Love how you have Adrian's playing isolated! I agree..he never got the camera exposure live Davey. Love the way his sound is gritty with more distortion. Awesome player! Was bummed when he left in the 90's.
rallypoint1 but I sure was happy he came back to play with Bruce and then rejoining Maiden.
I couldnt agree more! Dave was always more exposed in footages than H... He deserved more exposure. Despite when we watch Maiden England, than its all perfect, in my opinion... But its sad to see it :(
Love this track and Aye’dren’s live sound is so raw in this. That transition at 4:10 is so catchy and melodious.
Easily my favorite of Maiden´s guitar players
Mine too.
By far
@@alejandromarinetti8622 Nope,Dave is undisputed
Dave Dave Dave
I rate them song by song on their lead breaks.
Dave wins this song, but Adrian wins as many overall. Very tight race.
Adrian Smith is truly the greatest guitarist in Iron Maiden!!! 🎸🎼🎵🎶🤘🤘
Agree
Dave Murray is a close second, his fretting hand speed on leads is impressive- no mistakes!
@@stinkstank5177 I totally agree with you! Adrian and Dave are the best! 🤘🤘
both Murray and Smith you need both to get the magic of the real IRON MAIDEN

The medleys give me chills man
Live after death is my favorite live album, besides Ozzy Osbourne Randy Rhoades Tribute.
Oh man. ‘Tribute’. If CD’s could be worn out…
The Tone on this album WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have always liked Adrian he is absolute class Lee Hambleton from Sheffield

What a great solo
It took me years to realize that Dave's solo got all the glory, but Adrian's was low-key the best one.
Best Adrian’s solo.. this kinda “dirty” sound was mindblowind back in the day

Adrian Smith is the world best heavy metal Lead Guitarist in Europe & the world.
Noticed
No one cares about this Murray vs Smith vs Gers bs. Get on with it and just enjoy the music man.

This is not an isolated track. It's just right channel mono lol.

I don't think it's exactly live after death cause he doesn't hit the pinch harmonic as he did it in live

Kon Adam Dave Murray is the best guitarist in Maiden followed closely by Smith.

Who did you do this
Magic.
guitar only? i hear all of them
I think they meant to say, it's only his guitar playing, Dave Murray's guitar is removed on this audio.
You don't hear Dave.
better than dave murray, dave has not good down picking/palm mute
they are a guitar Duo you moron play as good as Murray and sell millions records lol
