Oooh, more Jacques Pepin Celebrates episode!!! Keep it coming! I think it's one of my favorite shows now, especially when he is cooking with his daughter Claudine and his late wife Gloria. 🥰
A wonderful chef, but, you sense, a man of extraordinary style and grace. We are so lucky to have his work, preserved for future generations. Joyeux Noel!
Santa's giving me 847's all over the place. First John Kirkwood gets to 847k, now I get to be the 847th thumbs up. Merry Christmas to me and a Joyeux Noël to Jacques.
I watch this with tears in my eyes! So many memories watching Jacques Pepin with my parents, now gone. The Yule Log looks sublime, especially with all of the seasonal leaves and berries as garnish (13:50). I blame Jacques Pepin for me getting in trouble in childhood during dinner set up, my brother yelling, “Mom, Brad is putting leaves and berries on our plates again.” Lol!
I remember seeing this episode years ago and marveled at how well they worked together and had so much fun together🥰 and Claude & Jacque planting the Christmas trees each year.💕
Thank you so much for this Christmas meal video!! 👏 This gives me encouragement to finally try to use my vintage Christmas Pudding Pan! 🤭 You make everything look so yummy good and so easy to make! 🎁 Merry Christmas to you both! ☺️✌️💖🦋🙏
Oh M Gee!!! He is soooo good. I love foie gras! I love duck! But, the section on Stock and Demi-Glace and Glace de Viande!!! The difference between White and Brown stock with visual guidance. I’ve paid for a years of online cooking classes that didn’t contain that much useful and relevant information!
I really enjoy these, I imagine they were recorded before I was born! I've said it before but whoever runs this channel does a great job of keeping the short form videos condensed but also having these long episodes that you can watch in the background. Are they cut up segments that originally aired on American tv?
@@Disco-Terry thank you so much 🥹! Glad you are enjoying the videos. These special holiday full episodes are from season 2 of the “Celebrates” series that originally aired on public television in 2013. The Cooking at Home videos were recorded by Jacques in his home kitchen for the web beginning in 2020. And the Shorts series “Ask Jacques” was recorded last year especially for UA-cam and Instagram. None are excerpts, just different lengths for different eras and ways to watch.
It’s nice but somewhat unaffordable for 99% of plebs. Like alright I already have eggs but i need the rest…. I’m going to the store to buy…checks list…a whole duck liver…a whole duck….sweet potatos… half of a whole smoked salmon….some conac…. Champagne, And some oysters to feed 12 people… and some nice truffles. Should only be about $3000 for Xmas dinner night. Bonne appetit!

I have discovered Jacques Pepin this year and can't get enough. He is the master. Thank you for keeping his legacy alive for the new generation!

I love vintage Jacques and current Jacques. He just is a joy to learn from. Merry Christmas Pepin family!
I was a young mom when this episode aired, I remember it well, happy cooking 🍷
@@debgersh5555 it’s a classic! I’m glad we are able to share them again
I have to remember to not watch your videos when I'm hungry. Wow! C'bon!

RIP Gloria. The heart and inspiration of Jacque Pepin. Just look at how he looks at his wife when he talked about his meatloaf memory.

33:25 Claudine says “Oh, yeah,” looking at the duck browning
Claudine is so pretty and nice. Her dad was a little tough on her in some episodes but that is just the way it goes. Or it used to.
Love jacque
My grandma, Isabellle {Also known as Isabelle necessary on a bicycle} made the best English pudding in the world. Her secret ingredient was WD-40.

Back when this show aired I was amazed at the fact Claudine had no clue as to how to cook and would think "how is this possible?"...

@@kqed There is no way this was recorded in 2013, this is much older than that.
@@kqedwell he surely wasn’t 78 y/o in 2013!
@ You may be right. The first season aired in 2001. This video is from the second season. I’ll check with our archivist. Thanks for the correction
It seems to me that if you beat the eggs long enough, you do not have to beat the yolks and white separately.
Copper bowl. Figure eight with wisk.
Does anyone know what year this originally aired?

My mom got me into Jacques Pepin, She fell off a cliff and died on impact. Still love the vids tho!

He steams the pudding with plastic wrap ?…?
If you find the dime, you can wish for better dental insurance.
No recipes though
I don’t enjoyed Claudine her personality IMO doesn’t have their passion for educating and food
