What a fun little video of you guys racing on another boat. Me here up watching a 4 am because I didn't eat enough yesterday and woke up hungry. Now I can go back to sleep with food in my belly and a smile on my face and in my heart!
Hold on there Billy, my Sunburst has so many Georgetown flags I have to object. All mine were from the days when only main and jib were allowed and I still finished around island over a hour ahead of the next cat. I lapped almost every boat in the harbor race. Look at the trophy for the Long Island race, you will find Sunburst there also. I'll send some pics to your email. I'm not just SpongeBob.
What a great video!!! Mike let me skipper the race last year, probably because the 74 year old guy was too slow in the winches. Honest, it wasn't an act! Such an amazing boat, the most fun I ever had on a sailboat. We started 80 minutes behind the first starters and passed 28 of 30 boats. On the home stretch we were doing 16.5 knts. Mike has truly made a monster of a boat and his skills and resolve is inspirational!
Crowthers are great boats. Mine was a design 75, 17 meters long, 11 tons lightship, we lived aboard for 13 years. Thinking of building a Crowther tri next.
I was just in BVI a few weeks ago when the big Regatta sponsored by Mt Gay Rum was going on. I was on a 53’ Power Cat just cruising the BVI’s but saw lots of the Regatta boats out there. Wondering if you guys were involved with that😎
They said best dressed who knows? A costume might win best dressed. A speed hum I'd like to have a better definition on what you're feeling and hearing. Does catamarans once they get going beyond hull speed the shudder is the hum to me
