Don't think its fair to say Eubank Jnr is ungrateful, even Snr said he's only going through his path and will find out for himself. It does not mean he's wrong. Eubank Jnr loves his father and vice versa. Mental health is a serious thing and that can causes relationships to break, but not from no love but from the strain and being drained by it. he was good he gave the utmost respect to James Toney obviously admitting that he is not in Tony's class but he beat Watson and Benn And gave us pure Entertainment -
Thanks for creating podcast. What did I agree with? The whole battle with loneliness and emptiness he faced upon retirement. I think that's something that awaits us all whether we're a journalist, police officer, accountant etc. What did I disagree with? John Fury. A complete and utter embarrassment who's now believing his own fantasy stories. I had a flick through his so-called book in Tesco's. LMAO at the lies!!!!
John Fury is a clown who drags boxing through the mud with his antics. Tyson Fury should say to him: 'Dad, I'm the world champion and this is making me look bad. Cut it out.' But, then again, Tyson Fury's antics since beating Dillian Whyte has dragged boxing through the mud as well so he probably approves of his dad's behaviour.
I disagree with Eubank SR greatly on the James Toney part, when he says that the reason why people don't really talk about James Toney anymore. Was due to his loudmouth antics and use of bad language to antagonise his opponents. No, the reason why the casual mainstream boxing fan doesn't really mention James Toney in realm of boxers from the past. Was simply that James Toney, wasn't a PPV star or a household name. Boxers such as Roy Jones, Mike Tyson, Felix Trinidad, Evander Holyfield, Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto, Floyd Mayweather, Bernard Hopkins, Oscar De Loya, Shane Mosley were the PPV stars during Toney's time as a boxer. So he was overshadowed by them in terms of name recognition and popularity. Fighters from the past such as Muhammed Ali, Prince Naseem Hamed, Floyd Mayweather, Mike Tyson and David Haye were all known for their loudmouth antics and use of foul language against their opponents. But the casual boxing fan still bring those names to mention, when they talk about past fighters. As they were all pay per view stars and household names/attractions.
he's right about Tony because all the fighter's you mentioned are not better fighters than Tony And Manny Pacman is in Politics - could you say the same for Tony - He is 100 percent correct
But Manny Pacman and all those fighters were PPV Stars/Attractions. That's the key! James Toney wasn't a PPV attraction! The same with Andre Ward. He was a great fighter but not a PPV attraction.@@homebell4866
Furthermore Conor Mcgregor was known for being a loudmouth yet still became the biggest star in UFC history, People still talk about him despite him being semi retired. The reason why James Toney is not talked about amongst casual boxing fans, was because he wasn't a PPV star/attraction. Simple as that. Nothing to do with his loudmouth antics. Why do us Brits worship Prince Naseem Hamed! Was because he was such a larger than life character. In and out of the ring. If fans disregard loudmouths. Then was Naz so popular back then and still 20 post years post his retirement?@@homebell4866
