@@nightcritterz Nice score on those clams!! I want to go back again this Weekend or Monday/Tuesday! When we were there Wednesday, those Sealions were also one float over from us. We were crabbing off of float 7 🤣
Suggestion! When filleting skin from meat, after first small cut at tail, try holding filet knife steady (forward with slight down-word angle) while grabbing skin and pulling and shaking skin back away from knife. With practice will be easier and quicker than trying to cut meat away from skin as you are now doing. This is the way the pro workers do it. Good luck!
If your hush puppies were corn meal, you could of made either polenta cakes or grits. Boil the corn meal at a 4:1 ratio, till it thickens up. Tasty stuff!
I'm in southern California, and here you have to be careful of parasites when you catch Surf Perch and Jack Smelt; otherwise they are great tasting. Love em! We use Sand Crabs as bait.
RIght on! Looks like you were in Pacific Beach? I was just there a couple days ago, Killed it one morning about 2 hours before incoming tide up until high tide. maybe 20 or so fish, only kept like 3 1 lb'ers. Super fun though! Arguably the best fishing, and you can also catch silvers too right there! Saw some jumping!
Working on Chum! They shut down all the rivers I was going to fish for them, but I will go to another place that should do well..... Razor clams next week, and hopefully Chum after that! Hope you make it out to the coast man! Beautiful place 🤙
@@NWFishingSecrets i heard about the closure it sucks but i think coastal rivers are still good. My uncle lives by Quanalt reservation and bought us some chum salmon eggs so i think their rivers are open.
Perch species in Asia are a freshwater species. In Africa too. It normally thrives in rivers, lakes, ditches, ponds and swamps etc. In Asia it's salted air dry ..then later supply as protein during low season. Fried or cook with broth flavour.with vegetables and coconut milk or curry .. Or dried salted perch fried til crispy as a condiments with rice congee. Or fresh cook with broths or fried until crispy. Then add tomatoes onions chilli paste, coriander and bell peppers. The redsurf perch you caught have similar stripes. Amazing. The batter you have is thick enough. It's ok the batter without eggs. Just use oil better To fry. Heat the pan and the oil. Once the oil is hot, reduce the fire to medium fire so it won't burn.put the fish in batter in. Leave it frying for few mins with medium to low fire. Keep adjusting. Depends on the pan thickness.either ways still best low to medium fire. Don't keep stir. It mash the fillet.that is why spatula is best to flip it over. Remember medium fire, let batter form or solidify for two to three mins, then only flip the other side. Best wishes

How did it go?? Get any perch? I've caught other kinds off of docks before, but only ever seen the redtails in the surf...
@@NWFishingSecrets didn't end up fishing but got my limit in razor clams pretty quick last night. got a few crab rings off the docks in westport right now, we'll see how that goes. got about 50 sea lions on the next pier over for entertainment 😅
Good luck!
Love all the merch a hoodie would beLove all awesome!!!
Another awesome video Mike!
Thank you!! So glad you got a kick out of it. Just can't get over how much I love making these for you guys 🎣
If your hush puppies were corn meal, you could of made either polenta cakes or grits. Boil the corn meal at a 4:1 ratio, till it thickens up. Tasty stuff!
Good idea! I'll try that out next time I find myself in that pickle 😂
The bull got dibs , let Em have it !
I'm in southern California, and here you have to be careful of parasites when you catch Surf Perch and Jack Smelt; otherwise they are great tasting. Love em! We use Sand Crabs as bait.
I’m learning so much! Thank you and well done! 🐟😋👍
YES!!! Love hearing that you're learning and having fun with the videos! Cause I know I am!! (fun & LEARNING) 🤣 🎣
Beautiful and clear video Well done, I subscribed to your channel.
Video making me late for work 😂 awesome stuff man.
🤣 😂 I an't responsible for no lost wages!! 🎣 Glad you enjoyed!
Something I need to try out. Hoping chum salmon catch and cook next would be interesting!
Thanks man, I'll definitely be headed that way. Or South to Oregon.....
@@NWFishingSecrets hopefully you can hook into some chum and a herring catch and cook at puget sound would be another good idea.
I'm become a big fan of your channel. Keep it up and I'll keep an eye out for you when I'm out fishing. I hope we can meet up some time
Perch species in Asia are a freshwater species.
Just use oil better
To fry.
Best wishes
