    James….. For the love of god, weld some angle strips on the floor, then the block and Ram will run straight and not bend the ram, it will also stop the block from sticking when it’s pushed in and pulled back

    7:26 That's hard work in anyone's language! Good old Nathan and James, they always make a good working pair. That windy gun must be a fair old weight and trying to manoeuvre it in such a confined space, as Nathan said, "The things I do for this job!!" He has my sympathy. He was also spot on with his concept of the sling Nice touch!.
    I've enjoyed the BCB videos, watching every one usually less than half an hour after they arrive on my desk top. The one thing that sets BCB aside is the way problems are dealt with. Today's was a prime example, diagnose it, check it then sort it. It must be a bit disheartening, the catalogue of misadventures with the machinery, but that baler has changed the face of BCB, proving its worth time after time. It has also added to the mechanical acumen of all who have been involved with it ... and it's still a usable machine.
    That was a dangerous job dealt with in a business like way.
    A good sound, enjoyable slice of life from Baxenden, thanks for that and best wishes.

    When you got the bailer the bend in the ram might had already been there and with then bailer door's was lose it could have added to the bend into the RAM,glad you going to have all seal's done as a bailer down the Yard gets more behind.

    Get that ram pressed straight or it will keep taking the seals as the bend passing through the nose cap will put undue pressure on the ram inside the cylinder

  • @Stevesmods
    @Stevesmods 3 місяці тому +2

    no the end plate with the seals on with all bolt holes is only a guide not for presure , imagine the piston fully in so it needs a guide at front . so the piston rings have gone blowing all seals out then blowing past the guide . looking at the piston and cartridge its a 2 way , push and pull on piston so all presure behind piston
    umm do i get a free hat now lol ,

    • @richm8620
      @richm8620 3 місяці тому

      On a 2 way ram both sides of the piston are pressurised depending on in stroke or out stoke. On the in stroke the gland seals are pressurised as well as the piston seals or no pressure would be created. Hydraulic rams don't work on suction power. So no hat unfortunately 😉

  • @georgepaterson4825

    It's a well old machine and cheap it's been welded up so many times before and even more and you use it loads as well that's wat you got to understand but if that ram shaft is even a bit bent its going keep doing it is the eye welded straight as well as if not then yet again it will do it again cant you find a ram of something else to that size or near to it off anything or modify the bracket and make it fit plenty of different machines measure the one in the bailer so you got a idea wat you need might be a good idea

    That bailer may have been the cheapest in the uk but it’s had that much work money and time spent on it I bet it’s now cost more than a newer maintained one . I feel sorry for you guys you must be starting to get pissed off with it. You really are overdue a week of no hassles and stress
