How to open back of the CD jewel case

what happened? I’m from gen z and have been collecting cds since April of last year and I have upwards of 20 cds and I’ve just had to do this because my new cd from Amazon had a cd case that had some weird residue on it and I wanted to clean the case

Appreciate The Upload! I’ve Tried Several Times In The Past (Not w/Too Much Effort) To Open The Back Of a CD Jewel Case w/No Luck! Just Received Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak (Silk Sonic) CD 💿 In The Mail and The Case Was Shattered Front and Back. I Got Pulled Out 1 Of My Extra Nelly CDs and Just Opened The Back and Was Able To Replace The Silk Sonic Front and Back Over Inside, -THnx!! 👍🏽

Thanks. I bought a brand new CD, and I didn't realize the case was damaged until I got back to my hotel room. Now I was easily able to transfer the new liners to an old case.

Thanks! I'm ripping my own, my mom and dad's CD collection to FLAC and I somehow broke my dad's Bob Marley - At His Greatest CD case opening it gently... (I ended up realizing I probably wasn't opening them in the ideal way, but I've never broken one before). Luckily I have replacement cases and can make it good as new. I just didn't want to break anything while I was trying to fix it, to where I'd make the problem worse in the end. I wanted to make sure I can use the same inserts and even black plastic insert piece, in lieu of the clear one these cases have, and open it without breaking it. Plastic pins are always brittle and sensitive and seem to be itching to break.
I just broke the clear plastic insert piece opening it gently... Good thing the black one is fine xD. See what I mean? FFS

Man I was looking for this for so long! I wanted to stick my game in the CD case with the manual in the front and the actual game paper case in the back! I opened it but still cracked the case, the manual fits but the paper case doesn’t. At least I dont have to try this anymore!!

Peter Doodson claimed this is the perfect design for a CD case. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of music CDs in plastic cases, but the jewel case is just awful. Way too delicate; I feel like I'm going to snap something just opening it, and the fact you have to disassemble it just to get to the back. Unbelievable. No wonder these fell off and vinyls are still being made despite that sh** being OLD
