as a musician with no label or manager or anything this was a huge help! i’ve been worried about how to make physical copies for an album im working on but this helped so much :) thank you!
As someone who have printed on sticky papers for the surface of the CD for several years. They are ok, except for one problem. If a person purchases a CD and the weather is fairly warm outside and plays it in his car player. Sometimes the glue softens and label slides or raises from some heat. The CD could get caught and it is nearly impossible to free it from the player. I know I had a couple times this happened to me. Be sure and warn anyone that buy your CDs that they should not play it in their vehicle. A trip to get their CD player fixed could eat all your profits and more.
1:58 > Definitely make a back-up of your cd when you use the old-fashioned brand, as the sticker-glue will eventually over time damage the cd-rom. (speaking from experience and not only with just 1 cd.)
I made a music cd for a friend of mine and the label got stuck in her cd player in her truck. I felt real bad that it happened to her. I never used a cd stick on label again!
Also if you put a CD with a sticker label into a CD folder, the glue will stick to the inside of the CD folder. Then, the only way to get the disc out is to force it out, tearing the label. Finally, once the label is torn, the disc will be out of balance and won't work. I once made about 100 labels for my CDs, and every one of them ended up destroyed.
This was very helpful, but your CD image has a blue sky and when printed it was white.. I am facing issues similar to this, do you know how to fix this?
thank you so much, I was looking for exactly this comparison, I don't want to buy a new cd capable printer for a couple of custom discs if I can just get some sticker paper and print onto that, so this video was perfect
appreciate your video, can you tell me the canon printers with the mega tanks that will print on cds? I think it wonderful of you to provide these video to help old people like me, Thanks
Thank you for your feedback. Cannon printer must have it in its specifications that it can print directly on CD. It's not a case of the printer having mega tanks or regular tanks. Not all Cannon printers offer this option. Hope this helps.
I have tried to use Canon Garden Image for DVD's. I wish you had shown how to input text onto the DVD, because I cannot change text 'center alien' to 'Left alien'. Most people will be wanting more than just a picture on their DVD. Text allows people to know what the DVD contains. Canon Garden Image fails to live up to CD-Labelprint abilities.
What happened to the colours man. You had a blue sky on the original image but a white sky when you finished printing. And the yellow tulips are now orange too.
Hi What settings do you use on your pc for the calibration settings for this paper? This cd paper is the exact same as mine but I'm struggling to get the print on the right part of the paper as the printer calibration settings are not right Thanks Emma
I don't like those kinds of cds with all white texture on it. What if you use a clear CD? Would that be safe to print on it? Cuz' those usually have better quality on labels than just paper cuz' the ink on the white looks botched, the color looks faded, the small text look jumbled and close together that you can barely read it, and it just doesn't look good to me.
This might sound concerning without additional context, but I’ve wanted to do this to make “fake albums” lol. But I more mean for myself, and mainly of artists who aren’t very popular and have no physical copies of anything out there haha.
Thank you for your help with this. Is there a way to print on the whole label? I am trying to print memorial decal on them and with the hole in the center it does not look good. Thank you
I have a Canon TS9020 and It will not print on a printable white disk. No ink comes out at all. But it will only print black ink of a sheet of typing or bond paper. Before I was able to print over 100 blank white disc and everything was perfect. I also am using nothing but Canon ink combo pack which is the 271 series of ink. I also purchase Canon ink several times and it will not print and everything else work. I do not know why it do not recognise the ink when printing. The ink level reads correctly and ink just do not come out???? on the cd or dvd. I am the only person that uses the Canon TS9020 printer and I love the printing but now it do not work at all and it was purchased in 2018 and I do not know what went work, why it's not printing out any more.
Hello I use to have a Canon MG 5350 it was brilliant I even got a preview screen on the printer so i could see then disc before printing you get not buy this printer now so looking for a similar one
I made a cd with music for a friend. I used a cd label on a cdr but when she tried to use the cd in her car, the label came off and it messed up her cd player. That's when I stopped using those cd labels.
How to print directly on a cd 1: buy an Epson XP-960 printer 2: buy some printable cds. 3: use the printers "EPSON PRINT CD" software By the way, youre NOT supposed to touch the print suface of the cd, and once its printed it needs to be left for 24 hours, than add a coat of print fixative spray. NEVER add stickers to cds, they WILL destroy your cd players spindle motor.
Direct to Disc IS HUGE LIE, I have one of those DUMB machines and every time I try to print to Disc it drops the disc tray and Lies about an error. The SHOULD BE FORCED back to to paper or Vinyl or LOSE their license to run their busness
Thank you for this swell instructional video. I have never printed directly onto a dvd before, but now I am ready to do it! And this is because of your video. Again, I thank you! Best Wishes Always, Wombat Willie ʕ•́ᴥ•̀ʔっ
Thanks, but your handling of the actual discs is shameful :) Avoid ever putting your fingers on the writing-side of a disc. And don't ever just lay them on a table surface because you may well accidentally scratch them when you try to pick them up again. Always play safe and lay your discs on something that could never scratch them. To me, the printed disc image looked less colourful/vibrant than the label version. If printing on the disc, I think I would boost the saturation on my image a little beforehand. Thanks again for video. I found it useful.

@@randompostings7795 The videos of me and your wife don’t count! 🤭

VERY helpful video. I'm a CD geek and alot of todays music no longer offers a disc (CD) option so now I can create my own covers! THANK YOU!

I also love cds and cassettes with labels because they have a good feeling of physical which is better than digital data.
Wow that's so cool! Idk there's a printer that can print the cd directly like yours 😁
I don't know I think you 're my favorite youtuber now :)
Why?
Thanks for this. I'm making some CDs for my aunt and uncle who are in their 80s and 90s and this makes it very easy.

Hi Emma, I used regular paper layout, didn't have to change anything in the settings, or else I would have covered it in the video.

Come on Robert it is not shameful. Why lament the poster? It’s pretty mean and supercilious. The purpose of the video is clear and achieved.
people still use CDs?
It's Propaganda Direct to Disc printing is IMPOSSIBLE.
Does every Canon printer have that thing to hold the cd in place?
Will it affect the burning ?
No. Unless you do it to a blank CD and then try to burn something to it afterwards.
