I used to be a tiler and worked with guys that tiled some of the London underground stations. The last job i did for that company was a swimming pool in Butlers Wharf right next to Tower Bridge, you can see the building in one of your other videos.
06:44 - don't know if you already know, but the reason Big Ben is so shiny at the top is it has just had a 5-year, £80 million renovation completed! If you saw it when you originally planned, it would have been completely surrounded by scaffolding, so you came at the right time!
Building at the beginning is the University College Hospital. If you were a English trade person, you would be poking the tiling and ancient brickwork with a sharp intake of breath: "wot joker did this work then?" Nice to see the City I love being appreciated by fresh eyes. As an 'ex-Londoner', I get nostalgic, especially when I see the first Tube station sign, (Hanger Lane) as I drive in from Worcestershire. But half an hour later, having travelled about half a mile in congested traffic, that feeling somewhat dissipates!
Always fun to watch Americans perspective of the UK. I've watched so many on here and you guys are my favourites. I might just be getting addicted to this channel. 👍
I always recommend Cambridge as a visit to visitors of the UK especially USA visitors...as there is a pub there called 'The Eagle' where Crick and Watson declared to find 'the code for life' and also the pub is where many USAF pilots and crew use to drink when flying out from Duxford sorties...There's a bar at the rear of the pub where the crews signed their names..in WW2...Also Cambridge is a great historical city but in relative terms is quite small and flat...No sky scrapers and the majority of buildings are old...and obviously a university city...My wife and I love it so much we got married there...I've enjoyed watching your great vids...Enjoy your stay in the UK...and have fun!!
As has been pointed out building at the beginning is the old U.C.H. in the early 80s used to spend a lot of time waiting outside for my girlfriend a student nurse there!
The building in the corner of St James’s Park is Duck Island Cottage which used to be the house for the St James’s Park bird keeper. I think it’s now used as offices and storage by the Royal Parks.
You said that you love museums. You should definitely visit South Kensington! It's museum central! There's a plethora of smaller museums but the big 3, all housed in incredible Victorian gothic buildings, are the Natural History Museum, The Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. The latter is basically a museum of culture and design and is usually referred to as the 'V&A'. All 3 are amazing places and well worth a visit. :)
Whoops! So sorry folks, I spoke too soon about the weather. Still, you can't come to London without a bit of rain, can you? It's what keeps all our parks and gardens so green...................................the ancient Englishman.
Probably the same for us when British people try to imitate an american accent! It always sounds like someone who isn't from California but wants to be. 😂
@@WorldWideWolberts ahh you see that’s where it differs. They are some Americans that can do a British accent very well mainly actors like Johnny Depp with the Jack Sparrow pirate character or Robert Downey Jr with his Holmes character, I’ve even heard Morgan freeman do a good one so you see it takes training. A lot of Brits can Imamate the American accent very well but the hardest I would say is the south east from Georgia to the Carolinas to Imamate because they vary quite a lot but generally the southern accents are harder to Imitate overall. In the U.K. you can go town to town and the accents can change drastically like in 40 miles apart but I’m glad you enjoyed your selves, if you like beautiful scenic views come here in the summer months when it’s hot in July or august and go to the Lake District or the Peak District there are beautiful towns in the country side as old or even older than London.
You need to watch the Trooping Of The Colours from last weekend where that open space at the bottom of the Mall really shows you what it's for. Back in the day when Whitehall was a Royal Palace it was the jousting grounds where all you've ever heard about knights and chivalry actually happened.
Stumbled across your videos and you’re a brilliant pair. You should have had a nosey at countryside England. It doesn’t smell of wee as much there. Which is nice.
Young lady, were you able to find your new DMs in London? Orange hair normally does not enhance, but a gorgeous natural ginger you would have made; As a couple you enjoyed the trip that is now is now part of your journey, do you know its impact yet?
China Town in London (The Original and best China Town) has the highest density of Michelin Star`d restaurants in the world !! You're going to LOVE Liverpool!!!!
I've never had pie and mash. It's not really a traditional dish. Sunday roasts are definitely a more national meal to try. I worked on the Jubilee concert. I'm sorry we blocked your view of the palace lol
Been binge watching your U.K. trip, love your personalities on screen. Thank you for sharing and hope you guys got home safe!
Thanks so much for watching! Home safe and ready to post a few more videos! 😌
Oh THAT"S where the Royal Troll lives? I always wondered where they keep him.

One of the silver linings of the delay was just this! Glad to have seen it without scaffold.

Oh, as an American tradesperson, I definitely had some off camera “well….that was an interesting decision” moments.

Loved your vlog. Btw beef pie with mash is amazing !
Looking forward to your other videos. Lou in The UK.

Great pub 👍
We are planning a return and will definitely be renting a car to get around with a bit I’m more freedom.

Welcome to England from a Englishman, I love your Vid's.
Thank you for watching!
You guys have got a great sense of humour. I should know, I'm extremely funny. Glad you enjoyed ya trip 👍
this was such a pleasure to watch
You always hear some good stories around Soho cafes and bars
"This is a chip not a French Fry." Really!!? You learn something new every day. 😏🙄😂😂😂

At 5.24 on the right is HM Treasury where I go for fish and chips on Friday.
It’s hilarious when Americans try to Imitate British accents and sound very strange indeed. Thanks for the laugh guys 👍

Dick Van Dyke school of accents.

That large open space is for military events like annual 'The Trooping of The Colour'.

nice couple welcome to the uk, come to wales next
On our list!!

Gonna find Liverpool so small after London.

7:30 - Such great light up there for taking photos.
Little disappointed you didn't try the mash with liquor (herb sauce) but I'm a malt vinegar fiend and look for any chance to pull a sour face.
Hadn’t worked up the courage. Next stay we will make it a point to.
Double mash, double pie, double liquor.. it’s the only order! 😅
You're right, a chip is not a British fry, they're completely different.
When your the 800th Subscriber 🙂
Love me some Mother Mash!
I've never had pie and mash. It's not really a traditional dish. Sunday roasts are definitely a more national meal to try.

Pie and mash is a traditional meal. Goddard pie mash is the best
Mmmmmmm… lovely glasses
Did you guys go to South Bank?
We did spend some time there. Next trip we definitely want to explore the south bank more.
His batting above his league.
Excellent
3:24 - You didn't eat your chips???
I still tile on the underground
U LUCKY BLOKE U TO HAVE HER IN YOUR LIFE
Best fish n chips - coal hole opposite Savoy hotel
Try putting gravy on your fish and chips. Trust me . . .
The British Museum was the first museum in the world.
Thought that was the Ashmolean in Oxford.
@@gmf121266 correct.
Nonsense. Ennigaldi-Nanna's museum in Iraq (ancient Ur) is over 2,500 years old.
@@JC-gm3zs OK I stand corrected.
I'm trying to work out if you're funnily normal or normally funny, glad you're having a good time.
The answer is yes.
Not pie and mash Cockney style , you need liquor ( parsley sauce) instead of gravy.
London sells the WORST fish and chips.
...but they make up for it with the only place to get pie and mash
I agree that you’ll get the best fish and chips in seaside towns but London has 1000 fish and chip shops and some of them are fantastic
Far too much background noise, hard to make out what is being said.
Okay
