Totally agree. I finally did go to see Band-Maid live at Tokyo Garden Theater in January 2023, they are an amazing live band. Tokyo is a well organized city, me and my wife fell in love with Tokyo and Japan on the spot. Highly recommended to go there. The very good example is she knew that her voice was not powerful for a rock band so she found saika and concentrated on improving her rhythm guitar.
The band said that on the outside she's cute but on the inside she's an old man (she eats lots of dry fish apparently). When she's out of character she's completely normal and probably very clever and smart. Maid cafes make there employees do dances and dumb shit probably for not that great of pay, especially in your 20s. So she probably took the kawaii she learned at the cafe and decided she'd start a band. She probably made a contact, she's a lot older than people think. I bet she's made over a mill by now. And I bet the pay is secret because she makes more than the rest of the band lol.
After watching several videos and researching about her. Fristly she joined to An Idol Group, relased a single. But her Idol group doesn't get success. I think part of Kobato always wanted to be an Idol. She try doing a Idol Life within Band-Maid!
It's all a gimmick. Her presence of mind and ability to stay in character is a testament to how frigging smart the girl is. She gave us one of the best all-girl groups I've ever heard, then got them gigs and promos around the world. They're in anime now. I can't see any of the other members doing what she does.

If your from the West, you must disconnect from all the preconceived notions you have about music.....Japan is it's own thing....wheels off most of the time....what is normal everywhere else is trumped by Japan's uniqueness and musical innovation. Miku is, first and foremost, an idol. Yes, it is a gimmick, but it is a gimmick that she is trained for. Everything from her look to her overflowing kawaii....it is all part of Japan's idol culture. Japan's idol culture is a celebration of youth and cuteness. She is the "face' of Band Maid. She is idol beautiful and is extremely marketable.

I love Miku, she is THE best! ... but to tell the truth, I could fall in love with any woman with that type of personality. She like to be cute and girly, but not half naked. She is funny and full of joy all the time, but it seems natural. She is proud and confident, but still respectful and humble. She follows her heart and her dreams without becoming someone she is not. The problem in this country here is that too many people listen to rap and hip-hop and the women here want to be like KIM KARDASHIAN or Cardi B. They think it's cool to talk tough and act snobby.
