I admire you for having a white carpet in your house!! 🙌 love this video! We have 4 medium/large dogs and especially in winter... muddy paws and wet dogs... lovely haha. Your dogs are lovely!
Yesss I have a Great Dane and the slobber that just COATS the walls 😩😩 all of the cleaning and upkeep get away from me, definitely could be better but we’re in a tiny apt so one shake of her head hits all 4 walls!
LOL, it's always fun watching Junior and Sulley! When we remodeled, we got rid of ALL carpet. Bamboo floors in the entire house. The best decision thing ever. For walls I use a wet rag and Odoban and a magic eraser for tough stains. And I have a couch cover and a blanket on our bed that they sleep on that I try to wash every week.
Thank you so much!! I love the idea of getting rid of our carpet entirely. It would be so much less work for sure. The challenge is kids and our stairs. We've worried that one of the kids or dogs, or one of us for that matter, would slip and fall down the stairs if we made them all vinyl. Maybe one day... sigh. I love the idea of a cover for the couch and beds - something that can be taken on and off easily. I've thought about one of those PAW brand ones.
@@BigDogMomI have South African boerbels 140 lb plus lol. Not as much slobber as the English mastiff though. Anyway, no carpet anywhere, just LVP (vinyl plank) looks like wood and waterproof, scuff resistant. I just put stick on stair treads. Can get rubber, sandpaper type grit and even carpet strips. Not slippery when wet and easily replaceable. Get stretch couch covers, the ones you lay on couch don't stay on at all. I get stretch at Ollie's but Amazon has them too, $30 or less both places. I wash weekly and replace when worn out about every 6-12 months.
I removed all the carpet in our house! When I was too poor to afford to replace it w/ vinyl flooring, I deep cleaned the subfloor and painted it w/ deck paint that complimented the painted wall paneling
Love your dogs ❤️ got 2 rottweilers myself. I use a general purpose cleaner in a spray or mixed in a bucket. Use a microfiber cloth, stuck on use magiceracer, i try to not use 1 use cleaningmaterial. General cleaning I wet about 10 microfibercloth damp, every cloth folded twice so you get 8 sides, just turn for a clean side, when dirty take a clean one, I only use microfiber and wash about once every 2 week, cloths from general cleaning and bath and kitched.
We use a big area rug on top of our wood vinyl floor (which is where Max likes to lay). Every 6 mos, I literally toss the area rug out & purchase a new one. Its really not that expensive and doing so helps get rid of dog smell too.
That is super smart as well! There's something to be said for choosing decor that is entirely disposable, especially for dogs. They tend to destroy everything over time.
I have 2 Great Danes and our slobber is a huge problem. But I found the magic erasers cut way down on the elbow grease ! Just thought you should know !
Hi thanks for the video! I’m going to start feeding my big guy outside. For whatever reason he’s a dog that blows bubbles in the water so his entire snout is soaked and so is the floor lol. But I use dawn dish soap white vinegar and hot water in a spray bottle. Wipe with a white washcloth. Literally no scrubbing. Paint seems fine I’ve done this for three years now and have a dark grey in our office and it did not discolor the paint.
That is wonderful! I would have thought over that period of time it would for sure. You will be so much happier not having to do all of that though. I truly can't imagine feeding Junior and Sulley inside. It gives me anxiety just thinking about it. haha!
Three dogs over here. Small, medium, large. Microfiber works the best for wiping out walls, surfaces, etc (use dry or damp) in my opinion. I also have no soft materials on my floors (carpet/rugs/mats) just one more thing to clean, stain, and trap smells. My dogs do not have beds. Not because I don’t want them to, but because they’ve been destroyed so many times that I refuse to buy anymore. I do want to invest in a robot vacuum/mop combo someday. Gotta save up. For me, keeping the floors clean is the hardest.
I use Scentsy counter clean or all purpose cleaner and a microfiber rag for slobber on walls or I use all purpose with hot water and my ocedar spin mop for walls and floors. I don't have carpet, but for spot cleaning pet and kid messes on fabric I use resolve pet expert. I've tried a few things but have been using that for several years.
This is a very realistic video. We have had other breeds of large dogs over the years including Newfoundland, Great Dane, Mackenzie Valley Timberwolf/dog mix (outdoor/garage dog), German Shepherd, and Golden Retriever, but the Mastiffs had the most slobber. I imagine that the Saint Bernard might give them a run for their money, but I've never had one of them. Now we have an Aussiedoodle in our old age, which has almost zero slobber and only mildly sheds. Still, I miss our big dogs and I may get another one in the future if I live that long (lol).
Another great video - thanks for sharing. For wall slobber, I use a terry towel with warm plain water. I'm with you on slobber color, my EM's comes out of his mouth black :) For the wood floors, I use Murphy's Oil Soap with hot water and a mop. I pre-treat the petrified slobber before mopping to reduce effort with the mop.
I'm watching your video's hoping we are next on the list of the breeder to get a pup. My wife brought a steam cleaner a year or so ago and its awesome. We use it to clean everything. I'd say it would make short work of the slobber.
That's awesome! We love our steam cleaner as well. The carpet you saw in this video is very frustrating to keep clean. The steamer is the only way I've stayed sane. ;)
@@BigDogMom The machine Jenny got is like a mop?? You can do any surface with it. Very good on painted walls. I think I might have watched all your videos now. You have been very helpful. More than anything I just like to see the dogs doing what they do. Observing there day to day manor etc. As lovely as you are I'd like to see more of the dogs just being themselves. I so hope we can get one.
I have two males, a golden retriever and a husky, the hair is one thing but the worst is the walls. They shake and noticed green stuff going all over the walls, thinking it is some bodily fluids, but I have flat white paint! Very hard to clean, unlike the doors and baseboards that have a primer and can easily wipe it down. Any tips? Ugh!!!
Hahaha! I'm sure that's part of the reason, however, sometimes my boys' comes out of their mouth dark colored which makes it extra disgusting when it lands on me or in my hair. 😩😂
Hey I forgot to ask you when you let them outside to eat and drink are you always letting them out to drink water or do you leave water down in the house as well. I’m never sure if I’m letting my big guy get enough fluids.
Idk about her, but I have water inside too, otherwise I'd constantly be letting dogs out. I put a cheap bath mat under the water bowl and then a cheaper rug runner under that going sideways. Helps some at least lol
They are beautiful 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I have two German shepherd and a miniature pincher I know what you go through 🥰🥰🥰

Haha! Thank you so much! Thankfully, our awful white carpet isn't on the main floor where our door is. 🤣
I'm looking for a channel for house cleaning a home with multiple giant dogs, on a farm, in the wet season....😮 serious talk.

Only thing about magic eraser is they mess up flat painted walls. I use a microfiber by norwex, kills bacteria with silver just using water.
I can so relate ! Thanx for the video ! ❤️🐶
Thank you so much! Yes, I think this is the side most never show but it's our reality. 😂
Excellent Video! 🐕 Love the Big Pups!
Thank you so much!! ❤️
Im seeing slobber on my tv while you clean and thought you kept missing it! Ha!!
Oh my gosh, that is hysterical!!! Slobber is literally everywhere!! 🤣

This is super smart! Thank you, Bjorn! I'll have to try the microfiber cloths. Do you wipe slobber off the walls with those as well?

Where do you buy your area rug from? I would love to find a cheap and big area rug

Yes the slobber on the walls lol. I have a great dane and when I tell or show people that don't have big dogs they don't understand.
For my carpet I use both natures miracle first followed by dawn soap. Once I’m finished it seems as if a professional has come and cleaned house!

I couldn’t figure out why mine were black? Finally another mastiff owner told me stay start out clear, dust sticks later and they turn black😂

Magic Eraser on the walls and baseboards does the trick
I use warm soapy water & terrycloth.
For slobber on the walls? And it works well?
