Step by Step Construction in the DR - Coralina Floors, Bathroom Tiles & Stone Work

Now that the “grey work” is done and the roof tiles are in place, things are about to get even more interesting. It always happens when you’re beginning the flooring and finishing phases of any construction. The flooring, windows, countertops, sinks and cabinets all begin to take their places in the construction roster.
The shopping that occurred both here and abroad made us feel as if we were finally taking an active role in the construction project. Being very comfortable traveling in the DR Liane and I began what ended up being several journey’s visiting most of the large outlets and did so in several different areas of the country.
To say it was educational would be putting it mildly. In fact it caused us to developed two lists. One is to help folks with what they might want to purchase locally and what to not even waste their time shopping for as we found the selection and the pricing to be insane. The second list is our Pre-construction check list. Both lists were not our creation but rather what I’ve gathered over the years being with companies such as Mercedes Homes and Aubuchon Homes. We’ve just tweaked them to fit the construction standards in the Caribbean. It’s exciting as we’ve already received several positive comments about how useful they have been in deciding things on other projects we’ve been involved with. Yes hot water throughout the home. Using electric 20 gallon tank.
