    I am so glad I found the Lovecrafts website for yarn and other crochet and knitting products. They always have a sale on some yarn up to 75% off. The Red Heart soft baby steps yarn on this video is only £1.99 per 100g ball. Just amazing as this is super soft baby yarn. They have many other brands too. Cheaper than I have seen them elsewhere.

      Ok, let me just inform you that it’s NOT negative people. I’ve worked in the IT world for a time and the thumbs down is technically an electronic algorithm based on the number of views, subscribers and thumbs up. There won’t be any channel with any video where it has 100% thumbs up ESPECIALLY with the numbers based on amount of views and subscribers. Finding one with 100% thumbs up will be an absolute unicorn.
      I personally love this video, saved it AND subscribed just because of this stitch.

      @@rebeccaherrera6006 I have a few with NO thumbs down. The only way to get a thumbs UP or DOWN if the button is physically clicked by someone a human. I asked the UA-cam insider team and they said its a human choice to click or not to click on that button. Anyway I do believe people have a right to an opinion probably someone didn't like my voice or didn't understand the video even didn't like my editing or whatever I don't mind . Some people just have fun clicking the down button whatever floats their boat I suppose

      Thank you so much, Gloria you should hear some the the swearing in the bits I edit out hahahah. I think everyone need a hobby of some kind, My mother knitted and did crochet all the time I dont think I ever remember her not knitting every day until she got very ill. My sister got all her needles and old patterns I wasn't interested at the time she passed away when I was 28. Sad but I carry on the tradition with crochet instead of knitting. I can knit I just like crochet better for my athritic hands hahaha

      Alison Russell's Craft Channel I would love to show you the baby blanket I’m working on. I used Red Heart Unforgettable yarn in the Tealberry color self varigating and it is gorgeous!!!! I learned how to knit and crochet when I was 10 when I stayed in Mexico for one school year but it wasn’t until several years later I picked up crocheting as my main choice of crafting! I’m sorry about your mom. I’m 42 and my mom is ‘stuck’ (as she sees it, lol) with us until the shelter in place is lifted and she can return to her home in Mexico so she’s crocheting up a storm! Good thing I’ve got tons of yarn! Keep up the good work. I’ll email you a picture of the blanket if you send me your email address!!

      Exactly I totally agree with your comment Amy, why do idiots put thumbs down on Alisons video's. She goes to a lot of effort putting her video's together & gives handy tips, even says where to buy the best priced wool (Home Bargains etc...) I've watched many of her craft video's too. I made a cat bed last year from reclaimed wool from an old jumper and rope this was brilliant & machine washable. My elderly house cat loves it ❤ 🐱 Alison did a great video explaining how to make this very inexpensive cat/dog bed, kept me busy for some time. Giving thumbs down to Alison Russell's video's on you-tube is nasty & I hope they do take them thumbs down back. Alison is helping like so many others on line U-tube to engage us in projects to help us witch the news channels off & not to engage in social media. As many with high anxiety & mental health problems are suffering at the moment in social isolation & lock down with fear of the coronavirus. I am subscribed to her channel

    Hi, Alison from Washington "The Evergreen State". I truly love this pattern. I always "HATE" doing chain work. I always get too many or too few chain stitches. With your pattern, I can make something other than Granny Square blankets. I am so thrilled to see a way of making a beautiful blanket without the dreaded hassle of the wrong number of chains. Also, I can see how wide it will be without having to guess. Thank you very very much. Great Job. Stay safe.

      You are so welcome, Try this method with other blankets too. Experimenting is great fun. I have a few on my channel that start with this loop chain. The white trellis fencing one can be done like this almost any cluster style blanket can be done like this.

      Some people just do it because they dont understand what I say as I have a scottish accent some do it for fun, It don't count for much anyway so don't worry. As long as people still give a thumbs up to show others they did like it thats all that matters (anyway some people are so curious the have a look to see why someone thought it was a thumbs down) Its the amount of views that count and how long people watch the advert at the begining thats what makes my pocket money to buy more yarn. The advert is what pays for my yarn but 10,000 need to be watched for me to earn £2.75 hahah not much but it all helps but supplies. If someone clicks off the advert I don't get paid for it at all. So its better if people watch an advert before the video all the way through.

    It's been many years since I used this stitching, it's really an easy stitch that's very pretty. I made a christening afghan with this stitching then used 3 other patterns to do the border. Everyone raved about that afghan, I never made it again as it was something special I put together for the baby who received the set I made using these stitches. Anything special I make for someone and don't want anyone else to have I never make again.

    I am only very basic crocheter but trying to do more. UA-cam is a great resource for learning! You can scroll back a bit and watch again. I also found using the cogwheel setting to slow it down a wee bit was a great help. Thank you Alison, I hope to make it to the end and hope you help me with more.

      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the tips, I tell a lot of people to use the cog wheel setting icon to slow not just my videos but others too. I have only been crocheting for a year. I knew some basic stuff many many years ago when I was about 10yrs old it was only when athritis stopped me making the pom pom loom blankets that I began to crochet. Keep at it Anne, its great for taking up spare time and you can even think off selling your projects to make some pocket money.

    .. Thank You Ms. Russell for doing this video.. Hours have passed and so so many diffderent patterns have been tried out on my yarn, only to be pulled up again and start over with a new pattern.. You see, it's not for mee to decide the pattern to fit the yarn, but the yarn to decide the pattern.. And finally I found this.. Oh lucky mee.. Usually I already know the pattern when I see and feel the yarn, but every now and then the yarn doesn't tell mee anything, and then it becomes a bit of a puzzle :-)
    .. Your accent really makes mee feel like home :-) ..

    Hi Alison , great tutorial Thankyou so much , could you please teach us how to make a dress for a toilet roll doll ? 1 year ago I asked if someone could make a new one for the doll that I had and a lady I know offered so I bought all the items she needed even the crochet hooks and I sent her the doll which was a very old doll but 1 year later I am still waiting and all I hear are excuses 😕 so looks like I'll have to buy a new doll and teach myself how to make the dress , thanks in advance

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  4 роки тому +1

      I have an idea for you.... make this stitch like a hat a small length say about 14 loops wrap it around your toilet roll so it fits, enough rows to cover a roll then add 2 more rows. sew down the side so its a circle then thread elastic around the top this will make the ball part of the skirt. get your doll and what I would try is make in single crochet (double crochet in the UK) a tiny long strip and wrap it around the dolls upper body like the top of a dress. I hope this helps.

      So sorry you didn't get your very old doll back 😦 Have you tried writing a little letter to this lady asking her to just return the doll, crochet hooks & other items? You could perhaps mention in your letter the old doll has sentimental value to yourself. Also it dosn't matter if she's not even started knitting the cover, you just want the doll back & all other items too. Good luck with this & stay safe and well. ❤❤❤ 🍪pocket. Great Britain.

      Thankyou so much for your idea , I have actually mentioned it twice over the 12 months last excuse was she had a painful wrist , I felt bad so wished her well and said ok when ever you feel better , I actually feel something has happened to the doll as I know she has dogs , that's just my gut feeling 😔 I feel very sad but it's another lesson in life not to be so trusting , I think I'll just search for another doll and try to teach myself , and people wonder why I keep to myself 👌
