    I have a question. I'm making a blanket for my daughter but I didn't realize that i only made it 3 1/2 feet wide and i wanted it to be 5 feet wide. Is there a way to make it wider without putting a crazy wide boarder on it? I'm already 3 skeins in and I really don't want to rip it all out and start over. Can you help me with this please. Thank you!

    I am not clear on how you finished the first row before you turned your work.

    • @leeleeknits
      @leeleeknits  Рік тому +7

      To end the first row, complete the repeat (2dc, ch2, sc) in the last chain. Ch 3, and turn

    This is my very favorite stitch. I do the beginning a little different. I chain 2, 1 dc in ch 2 sp, ch 2, 1 sc. At the end i sc, and then go to the beginning. This creates a shell on the edges. It was the pattern on the Jamie blanket patern.

    Is there an actual name for this stitch? It's kinda crazy that I just came across this tutorial you posted yesterday, after searching several days for one like it. My mom passed away February last year and a stitch very similar to this had become her favorite stitch for baby blankets. I had learned one that is very similar as well, but I liked the edges on hers better because they naturally formed a border instead of a straight edge as mine did, eliminating the need to add a separate border. Yours creates a border too but a slightly different one. Basically, they're all 3 the same 2 dblc, ch2, 1 sc stitch but each finishes a row a little differently. Anyway, this has become one of my favorite stitches as well because its so simple but creates such a pretty fabric that's a little airy but not overly holey. I made 2 beautiful baby blankets with it last year for my 2 new grandsons born 2 months apart, the first born 1 month before my mom passed away and the other 1 month after she passed. So, long story just to say thanks for posting the tutorial and to ask if you know the name of the stitch, which would've helped immensely when I was searching for the pattern.😊

      Im so sorry to hear about your mom, but I’m happy to hear that this stitch is what you’ve been looking for. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of this stitch as I’ve been using it for a long time.

      @@leeleeknits That's ok, I appreciate your response. Maybe someone else will know the name and comment. It doesn't seem like a common stitch because I've watched a lot of UA-cam crochet videos, in general over the years since I'm always seeking out new patterns and projects as an avid crocheter, but also recently and on a few other occasions seeking out this stitch in particular.
      Thanks again!
