Quite a well thought out story and I certainly do look forward to finding out what happened. Admittingly I was thinking wait where on earth would engine crew miraciously have £175? (As we all know a lotta money in them days) However you soon found a convincing means to justify that :)

"Errant Venture". Nice Star Wars reference! To those of you who don't get it, Errant Venture is the name of a Star Destroyer under the command of a bounty hunter named Booster Terrik.
Okay I'll propose my theory: The email is from either a child or grandchild of one of the Errant Venture's sailors who has information about what happened to the ship, I'm gonna guess it is marooned on a rock or embankment somewhere all wrecked and no one has been able to recover it and over time was forgotten... And obviously that would mean Lily is stuck there... Still just a theory.
This is a pretty good episode you've made. I like how it told about what happened to Lily and how she wasn't scrapped when the other W&S and S&M engines were. I have to admit, after seeing the part when Brian told Thomas about how she was put onto the Errant Venture, I thought that she had died when the ship went missing and I was starting to feel disappointed, but when I saw the scene near the end when the Emily Hatt recieved that email, I have a feeling that this isn't the end of the story of Lily, and there might be a slight chance that she may have survived. Am I right?

B) It's nothing to do with Gordon - the Fat Controller would be getting daily reports on his progress, and so news about him wouldn't be unusual. C) It's still going to take a little while for the China Clay Quarry to be repaired and reopened.

This was in order to present a 'modern image' for the railway, which they believed would attract business and help them get through the Great Depression. The Fat Director and railwaymen didn't agree with this, so they arranged for Lily to run down to Kirk Ronan - passing her from signalbox to signalbox, etc. 2) The storm caused the sea to become rough, which in turn sunk the Errant Venture. 3) It was, yes. If you look very carefully, you may just be able to see an outline of her moving. 4) On my version of the Kirk Ronan branch, the line runs downhill all the way from Rolf's Castle to Kirk Ronan - this is seen most clearly in 'Flying Fish', when Sheffield's trucks break away. So, after passing through Rolf's Castle, Lily's driver would have cut steam, and she would have just rolled downhill. 5) Brian thought it was her, but that branchline had been closed. However, once Geoff told him Lily hadn't been scrapped, he realised that the voice that sounded like Lily actually was Lily.
***** Judging by when Gordon said there was debris between Kildane and Maron, that's sounds like that was done deliberately by Lily's crew and the railwaymen whilst Lily was passed from signalbox to signalbox. Also, why did the Fat Director chose Lily specifically to avoid being scrapped and did McBunnets Factory buy Lily secretly since she was to join Neil there?
Well technically no... But seeing as an engine needs fire in it's fire box being under salt water would certainly not help, especially as it rusts the engine away and most likely sea life growing around it so it may be that Lily could be dead from those circumstances since engines in the series who are scrapped are portrayed as dead... But still we have no evidence yet that the ship actually sunk, all we're told is that the ship got lost at sea... Could've crashed on a rock or something

This is a deep mystery story. Thomas trying to track down Lily reminds me alot of trying to locate my old friends and family.

Can engines drown? Since they technically have no lungs to breath from, and there for no lungs to fill with water, would they face suffixation?
Well technically no... But seeing as an engine needs fire in it's fire box being under salt water would certainly not help, especially as it rusts the engine away and most likely sea life growing around it so it may be that Lily could be dead from those circumstances since engines in the series who are scrapped are portrayed as dead... But still we have no evidence yet that the ship actually sunk, all we're told is that the ship got lost at sea... Could've crashed on a rock or something
