Recently I've been playing through Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, and have gone through the process of generating custom character portraits through AI, to kind of give a fresh skin to the game. This is what I came up with, and how to apply it to your copy of the game.

where did you find the alternative portraits, can we share yours?
I generated them with AI. I can set up a download for them if anyone wants.

in ee, using the same aspect ratio, you can actually have files up to 1024px in height with the L size for custom protag portraits

I did that and add my portrait to the paste but was erased a portrait of an elf and the name is the same as the deleted image, in the game now my custom portrait appears instead of the erased, will this make any difference or the portraits in that paste are just for the player to use? (Sorry my mother language is portuguese)my game is the Epic version

Hey, android player here. Does this work the same way as it does on PC? I'm looking to use custom portraita for NPCs and I don't see an override folder. Should I make one myself or is there another step?

@@Voidmoney Ah ok thanks for replying I will continue to try then baldurs gate already had a folder saying portraits I might see if making a new portrait folder will do the trick.
I cant seem to find the game in my documents folder. Is there a way to find it alternatively or anything that I need to do to make it show up in the document folder? Thanks!
It's not the full game in the documents folder, just files that the game pulls from. Maybe try making the folder manually - a bit cumbersome but if it works it works! If not, let me know.

Haha, I did think of it, just couldn't be bothered. I was planning to do a voice pack tutorial too, so maybe I'll throw a gender swap Imoen in there. 🤔

Complicating the explanation by showing of the seamless transition between resizing the 3 portraits needed to be inserted into the portraits folder. Its pretty annoying when the whole process can be understood without you showing off. Needless processes
