    Question about the hood. You swapped the old one with the vent on it, for the carbon. No vent on the carbon one. Do you think it's necessary, or not that much?

      I'm trying to keep an eye on temps at the moment. Currently in the colder air, the car is running just fine without the vent.
      On a hot summers day, it may well be a little more marginal. I'm looking at the best options to add a vent to the carbon bonnet currently, but will wait until I've gone DBW to avoid clashes with the throttle cable setup.

    Okay I paused, here is my guess: Too hot for ECU, turbo maxed out and soaking heat into other components. Need to swap turbos or coat the 25-550 and blanket it.

    Very interested to see how you get on with the 660. What A/R is it running, and what A/R was the 550 running?

      firstly, congratulations on a FABULOUS username! haha.
      both the 550 and the 660 are on a 0.72 housing. Testing at Badger5 has shown that the 660 gained literally NOTHING going up to a 0.92 housing, and I value response more than ultimate headline figures. the 660 on a 0.72 gives me the top end I want, without any real compromise low down

      That is really interesting as I am almost finished with a 2.1 Subaru build that will be running a 550 with 0.92 housing. I suppose the good thing about these turbos is the interchangeability, meaning if the 0.92 is too laggy, a 0.72 can be dropped in relatively easily.

      @@GiftedGonad How do you like the 550 with .92?? I am looking to drop a 550 into my 2.0 GTI and am curious if you feel like it gives you good top-end flow? I want torque down low since it's an I4, but also want some top end

    I'm trying to decide between a 550/660/efr7163 myself for a stroker I'm putting together in a b5

      it all depends what you want. Personally, I think the G25's outshine the EFR now. On a stroker, the torque onset of a 550 is ridiculous, but the 660 has the puff top end where the 550 will struggle if you like to rev it high.

    I just built a 2.0l for my build. It's my daily. Would you recommend a 550 or the 660?

      the 550 is fine full stop. it's just a case of horses for courses. A 550 stroker is a pretty ballistic road car, with all the torque and response you could ever want. the 660 has more top end, but at the expensive of some low down response.

      Appreciate the reply Nick. Currently in the process of getting my 20AE GTI going again & the build in ways is very similar to what you had going before you went stroker & dropped the 550. Awesome car mate. Started reading your build on the Audi forum from page 1 some time ago (very helpful btw). Vids are also top notch. Being wrong wheel drive I had debated a 660 stroker build, but don’t have the aero to keep planted at higher track speeds.. Hopefully I made the right decision🤣 Is the 660/stroker combo leaps & bounds above the 550/non stroker in the mid to high range or just a modest bump. Also does the 660/stroker setup start rolling into boost at approx the same time as the non stroker/550 setup?
