They are just a anniversary shell spec SQ2, if you spec a SQ2 using sonors configurator you will end up at 11,000 euro for the sonorlite and the 150th is 13,000. So any person who has configured a SQ2 since it came out in 2011 has payed about 85% of this cost. So its been their flagship business model for 15year. To many people this is so much less than the watch on their wrist.
Need new flagship line double pedal and hihat stands. Idk why they ignore the obvious need when not even their endorsers are using their pedals. It’s insane how popular double bass drumming is and how late Sonor is to the party. As an sq2 player, it’s disappointing Sonor doesn’t make a double pedal worthy of my kit. Side note for those complaining about price, an ordinary comparable sq2 costs no more than a dw collectors or tama star when ordered. People shouldn’t be comparing apples to oranges. Compare standard line kits, not limited edition models with price hikes.
Used to be a huge Sonor fan, had a 1960’s Phonic kit for 18 years. The arrogance of this bozo telling people to get out of the way, so the cameras can show an extremely overpriced snare drum that 99.9% of drummers can’t afford and don’t have any interest in anyway. And then talking about and showcasing a drum set with gold plated hardware that once again 99.9% of drummers can’t afford and even if they could, why would they waste their money on that. The arrogance of Sonor is out of hand. I’m done with them and I will just stick with Tama who makes the best hardware out there and makes a wide range of great sounding drums that are affordable for all levels of musicians. Tama hardware has always been more user-friendly than Sonor’s gigantic clunky hardware anyway. Sonor , you can keep your arrogance and your extremely overpriced drums that most of us can’t afford. I’ll never get why a company would focus on making $10,000 instruments. This is almost as bad as DW bringing Slingerland back and charging $1800 for a snare drum. How ridiculous and arrogant.
I haven’t got to that part yet but I’m anticipating this guy telling people to move out of the way. Don’t you think Yamaha s pretty much equal to Tama in hardware? I know most people agree. It’s just a matter of taste. I’m a Yamaha, Tama Gretsch guy. I love all of them for different reasons. My Gen 1 Sonar Safari is phenomenal though.
I agree with you. I can get Tama's flagship drums for one third the cost of Sonors SQ2s. Sonor does not sound 3x better. They are incredible drums but not for the 3x the price.
You're right, but that's called business and they're not people's wishes company. They don't give a sh*t about you and me, two poor drummers cause they make drums for rich guys. It's more worth it to them to sell one snare drum for $6,000 than twelve for $500. They love money more than drums.
Terrible hardware. The company is a pain in the ass to deal with. Weird sizes. Drums are drums are drums. It’s how you hit them, and where you place the sound in the music. Same with guitars. You’re all suckers.
Value is subjective. Most of the cost is in paying for German labor vs. Chinese or Indonesian or whatever. There's also an undenaibly high level of craftsmanship in their drums, one that even other high end companies can't match consistently (I'm looking at you, DW and Ludwig). If you don't value those things, that's fine, but other people do. No need for you to be an a**hole and call everyone else a sucker just because they don't share your opinion. That said, I would never buy high end Sonor drums. But on the other hand, I also wouldn't buy anything made by Behringer.
@ a drum is a drum is a drum. A guitar is a guitar is a guitar. I have 9 snare drums. If I blindfolded you, there’s no way you could hear the difference in a mix.
