Best Picture: Take out -- A Complete Unknown (I have zero interest in Bob Dylan.) Put in -- The Wild Robot. I have a definite weakness for high-quality movies with female leads, and this was one of the year's best, IMO. 12:17: Despite the Wicked hate, on which we must agree to disagree, I do agree with most of what you're saying, re: Villeneuve in particular. No way should he have been left out of the Oscar conversation.
Picture: Sing Sing > EP Directing: Nickel Boys (RaMell Ross) > Jacques Audiard (EP) Actress in a Leading Role: Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Hard Truths) > Karla Sofía Gascón (EP) Actress in a Supporting Role: Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor (Nickel Boys) > Zoe Saldaña (EP) Animated Feature: Look Back > Inside Out 2 International Feature Film: Thailand, "How to Make Millions before Grandma Dies" > France, “EP” Writing (Adapted Screenplay): Dune: Part Two > EP Music (Original Score): Challengers > EP Music (Original Song): 1. “Harper and Will Go West” from Will & Harper 2. "The Journey" from The Six Triple Eight 3. “Like a Bird” from Sing Sing 4. “Never Too Late” from Elton John: Never Too Late 5. “Sick in the Head” from Kneecap Film Editing: Dune: Part Two > EP Cinematography: Nickel Boys > EP Costume Design: Dune: Part Two > Nosferatu (sadly) Makeup and Hairstyling: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice > EP Sound: Alien: Romulus > EP Visual Effects: Mufasa: The Lion King (yes, really) > Alien: Romulus
In Best Picture category take out the Oscar bait predictable and formulaic biopic A Complete Unknown and the terrible Emilia Perez and replace them with the beautiful Latvian animated movie Flow and Challengers. In Best Director category take out James Mangold (A Complete Unknown) and Jacquies Audiard (Emilia Perez) and replace them with Ramell Ross (Nickel Boys) and Denis Villenueve (Dune Part 2).
my pick for best picture: 1. Anora 2. The Substance 3. Dune: Part Two 4. Nosferatu 5. The Brutalist 6. Wicked 7. Conclave 8. Sing Sing 9. Challengers 10. Nickel Boys
And And what do you think of the other categories? I found this edition very strange. Many good surprises but also absurd things (Emília Perez). For example, the screenplay. Will there be another video about the technical categories?
I really like you guys' picks. The only thing I would change is I make is to pick Selton Mello as supporting actor over Kieran Culkin or Edward Norton, but not because I'm Brazilian, well, I little because I'm Brazilian, but his portrait of Rubens Paiva is fantastic, he is so relaxed in that role. I guess this is a pick only a Brazilian could make because we've seen several of his other performances and he is usually plays a very neurotic or anxious guy (kinda like a Jessie Eisenberg or Michael Cera). He was really playing against type in "I'm Stil Here"
Sorry Wicked is the only best picture nominee I have any passion for. Challengers/Nosferatu can replace any of the other nine and I would be fine with it.
PREDICTION (enjoy BOTH of you)...this year will be sprinkles & not a clear sweeper, film wise. I gather Brutalist may win the most, (3-6) possibly Wicked, considering techs. The Substance will get Actress/Makeup so that's 2. Anora might be a true filler, except for Screenplay, which may also be Conclave's mere opposite win, along w 1 tech, at best. EP can get Zoe & song, which are locked together & get Audiard an award...possibly Score and maybe Intl film, unless I'm Still Here &/or Flow, knock it off BC both have other showings besides Intl film (no more than 4, same as GG). Nosferatu will get a tech, maybe 2. Complete Unknown feels like Late Filler, like how 1917 or All Quiet did at the last minute, but nothing major, so possibly 2, which are techs to give it something.
Glen Powell over Sebastian Stan???Please, Tell me it was just a mistake. Powell's role is just a goofy performance and shouldn't be in an awards conversation. Not cool
I was on board with all your swaps EXCEPT the last one. I like Glen Powell and Hit Man was a fun movie, but IMHO BOTH Sebastian Stan performances were better than his. And I would give up both Timmy and Adrian to keep Sebastian.
I wish! but the Academy members are so self congratulatory they'll give it thunderous applause as if it winning proves they know better about what a good film versus the rest of the world. They'll see every win as a win for adversity lol they're so ridiculous. Maybe Luca Guadanino might've booed but he wont be there sadly.
@richardyett3985 Get over your transphobia. Not accepting her gender is the one reason that is NOT valid for swapping her out. That the movie sucks or her performance is not as good as the others - THOSE are valid reasons (not to mention the very not award worthy behaviour on social media)
5:34 I don't want to be disrespectful, but if you guys really don't know who is pissed about Emilia Perez (the entire Latin America) and don't understand why, then, sincerely, the reason this movie has 13 nominations is entirely yours.
I was referencing how the director is from France, but made a Mexican film. So basically everyone is pissed. And I do know why and I also dislike it quite a bit. 🤝
Don't feel bad about this video. This was therapeutic for me as someone who also didn't care for Emilia Perez.

Can’t tell if this is a nightmare or if I’m really reading this on my phone rn 😵💫
I'm Brazilian and I'm following your channel, I really like your comments, congratulations
Please, if Emilia Perez wins best picture, what is happening to the world of cinema?!?!?
@@Jessica9013Ha1 no doubt 💯. I thought that before we recorded this (Wed), but def no argument now 😭😭
Best actress - Swap Gascon for Baptiste
Best picture - Swap Emilia Perez for Sing sing
So, swapping 13 nominations to be exact.
fernanda torres have mentioned marianne jean baptiste is some interviews. and tilda. think at least one of them shouldve been nominated.
Was so good to watch this video!
Excellent experiment guys! Thank you.
But poor Ralph Fiennes!
He missed for The Grand Budapest Hotel and The Menu! And now you’ve cut him again 😂
Very fun video. Thanks guys.
23:47 love that!! 😅 I would save her in a heartbeat too

Thanks for saving young Timmy 😂
Been my guy since day 1 lol. My daughter and I have legit been his biggest supporters since CMBYN. Couldn’t lose him 😭🤣
Wish this was the Oscar list. The Squibb, Challengers, and Powell of it all. Perfect.
I think I would remove A Complete Unknown instead of Wicked.. but other than that, I'm on board with everything lol

I'd watch you guys Oscars then the real one this year... Nosferatu Challengers for best Picture hell year ❤
Bro,
You nominated June Squibb. I so agree. She knocked it out of the park. Would have loved to seen Richard Roundtree for best Sup Actor as well.
swap gascon for jean baptiste
If Emilia wins the Oscars is done.
And And what do you think of the other categories? I found this edition very strange. Many good surprises but also absurd things (Emília Perez). For example, the screenplay. Will there be another video about the technical categories?
We should! Idk maybe 🙏🏼
A really entertaining video. I agree, it was good therapy! Sorry to lose Ralph Fiennes, but hopefully his time will come soon.

Here’s Homer Simpson
@wend what?
upgrades across the board
I like Selena and Ariana but I 1000% understand you guys Emilia Perez was NOT good.😅😅
Good idea for the show.

😭 We’re just having fun! But for what it’s worth I did think Powell was awesome in HIT MAN.
Im putting saoirse ronan in best actress
Marianne Jean Baptiste and Naomi Scott (Smile 2) would've been my swaps in Lead.
i had soooo many in that category including yours. also lily rose-depp omg. yeah a lot of great ladies in film this year.
i would put sing sing for best picture.
Me too 😔. It should be in! (In real life I mean) 🤣
Taking Wicked out is definitely a heterosexual male opinion 🙂
I mean I really liked it but it was technically ranked #9 among the nominees 😭😭😭. Altho I think Jonathan removed that one lol. I’m clean!! 🤣😭💚🩷
@TwoPeasonaPod it's fine hahaha. Wicked is not winning best picture, but I’m glad a well-crafted musical is receiving its flowers.
Wich they both are, i think, hahaha.
I was on board with all your swaps EXCEPT the last one. I like Glen Powell and Hit Man was a fun movie, but IMHO BOTH Sebastian Stan performances were better than his. And I would give up both Timmy and Adrian to keep Sebastian.
lololo at this point, Emilia Perez is going to get booed if it wins any awards

this was basically just heterosexualizing the nominations lol ( i’m so sorry wicked ): )
You can't say that when Challengers and Nosferatu are right there with bi representation
@@pedrohenriquesilvarizzo4766 eh those are more “trendy” or “cool” movies and are completely expected but are still inherently less gay lol
JUNE SQUIBB THELMA
😊😊😊
For supporting actress, I would easily remove Ariana Grande. I would replace her with Margaret Qualley. I found Ariana excessively bad in Wicked.
Easy swap is the man (Karla) shouldn't be in the female category along with the film sucked.
