So too me I would say you can't go off of one section,and say the ppl on Yelp are tripping. I would say have some other items on there as well. Also, being in the industry I know sometimes it's who may be cooking, or serving on those days. It could be that nee cooks were hired as well. Overall great review bro just think you were a little heavy on the ppl lol
Some of those reviews were hella old though Daym. There was probably some improvements over time. You gotta take that into consideration when looking at yelp reviews.
If you've ever worked at a restaurant, you would know that your experience can be a 0-5 depending on who is working that day. Facts.
That's why I'll rate a place 3 stars if service is bad but food is good. Food should never be bad at a restaurant though because it's the product. If food is bad but service is good I'll rate 2 stars. If it's all bad 1 star.
@@chasey1978 The majority of the time it is the cook line who lacks. I worked in back of house and have seen the shortcuts firsthand. I like your system though. It seems accurate.
being a "Certified Cook" in the boh of multiple restaurants. from Tijuana flats to steak houses, i can diffidently say its all depending on who is preparing the food. I've seen stuff picked up off the floor and slapped on a plate, to people cutting RAW fish without gloves and preparing a taco.

@@DavidTMSN but that's still the fault of the management, if a cook sucks, replace them, if majority of reviews are bad, find out why.

Also, the masses like to pretend they are professional critics and that we care what they say. They might call themselves foodies- which is a polite way of saying F$cking pigs lol!
Honestly Yelp reviews are so unnecessarily harsh I sometimes wonder if there’s like some intense business vs business sabotage going on under the works.
you have to rely on google reviews for the honest truth. If it's poorly rated on GOOGLE, then it's truthfully bad... A lot of places like this one will have like 2 stars on yelp and 4 stars on google
overall, people are just more likely to report negative experiences than positive experiences.

Yeah homie do some bbq. I'm in Texas and they say they do bbq right here. It all tastes boiled to me. Honestly the best Tx bbq is somebody backyard grill with the sodasand ice in the big cans.

A business where the employees dont enjoy their job is likely a sign that the employees aren't being paid enough or has bad management.
Mmmmm i would say 99% of severs dont enjoy there job. That doesnt mean anything is wrong.
AreFallout 99% of servers do not like their job because people forgot how to tip. People are expecting an excellent service then leave no tip which results in un happy servers.

I appreciate the honest reviews for these types of videos. I'm sick of ppl going in with a preconceived opinion because of the reviews and they let that impact their review before they give the food a genuine taste. I would like to see some "Worst Reviewed" videos where ppl go in blind not knowing if its a worst reviewed or a highest reviewed place, THEN they give us their honest opinion. Like let a friend pick the spot and read the reviews for them and they have to guess the rating... or they could just be honest like Daym

I like the fact that you review the places properly and not just walking into a bad reviewed place and slamming it down on silly little things to agree with the Yelp reviewers, I could tell there was too much bread going on with those but it looked good apart from that. some Tabasco would have went nice with it though :)

Belinda Ginete I wouldn’t say that. I went there on a late night stop-by back in 2017. It’s actually as decent as he says, and it’s open 24 hours, so if you’re ever in Stratford, this isn’t a bad place to pay a visit.
He's not the best reviewer if you want like an in-depth restaurant review, but for single dishes and specials, I think Daym has some pretty good opinions. Besides, it's kinda thanks to him that I started going to Five Guys when I still used to live in downtown Charleston, SC. Their place on King Street is a fine example of a Five Guys in the south that you can just walk to and have your mind blown. A rare occurrence in my part of the US. Thanks as always for the reviews, Daym. You're funny, you keep it interesting, and I even love these best/worst reviews, too.
I think you should take into account the sample size too Daym.. Duchess diner is a 2 star with 43 reviews.. but I bet a restaurant with 2.5 stars and 1000 reviews will be much more reflective of its rating.

I'm happy to see it's not so bad currently. That diner was a regular spot for me and my friends. The food was always acceptable (not great, just above a really good Dennys), and the hours and location was really convenient. Also the staff was always nice. When I heard it was "the lowest rated breakfast place in CT" my heart sank.
One of the worst breakfast diners here actually has an unfortunate story.
Huddle house. It used to be one of the best places here. For everything. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But a waffle House literally opend up across from the road. And it took alot of their business. I personally prefered huddle house. But they got hit bad.
Then to make the fact they were losing money worse, we had a really bad storm hit the area. (I lived down the road in an apartment complex with my grandmother at the time. ) A small tornado came down and it messed the building up a bit. And after they got it fixed, they were so far in a financial hole that they couldn't recover.
They ended up closing for almost 3 years. But.... Then it came back with new management. But while it's still ok, it's nothing compared to before. And the waffle House actually is better now compared to it. It really sucks to see them go down like that. They were such a great diner. But it's gone from a 5 banger to maybe a 2½.

It's not fair to try one establishments best/signature food, and not the others. One places specialty might be pancakes, where the others might be breakfast sandwiches.
While I agree...but the example you used was a little off lol simple items like pancakes shouldnt be a specialty since its probably the easiest food to make lol

Daym Yelp always has lower ratings than Google reviews. I think you should consider both review options and then select your restaurants.
Those sandwiches looked sooo good. The eggs are cooked the way I love'em. I love a medium with a little running in the yoke.
I absolutely love that typa bread, like spanish or italian rolls witht the crusty top and have a bit more bite to em. Aside from the lack of filling, that sandwich looks perfect to me

You're definitely right that if the choices you had were in a croissant, that would push it to 4 - - 4.5 review rating quite easily. That being said it does appear that Yelp reviews can be often very harsh at times, and many joints get hit hard because of that. It's great that vloggers such as yourself go in there and set the record straight because that could be enough to turn things around for restaurants that are legit even their food prep may need a bit more loving

Waddup Daym, it’s ur boi from Costco NB, i got the best food truck for you to check out. It’s my moms spot. She was one of the OGs of food trucks that started in Yale new haven hospital on Cedar street directly in front of the Yale hospital. She started in the late 80s. If you go down there and ask about the chicken sandwhich lady...everyone will point you into the right direction. She will be the food truck with the longest line and you’ll know exactly who she is.
