Thus the government announced a few places that would be sanitized, including Hanshin shopping plaza, Reifeng Night Market, Eda outlet mall, Carrefour, and Costco. if you have been to those places, you guys have to do self-health monitoring and take care of yourselves. Yes we love the apartment. We found it on airbnb I guess (although we were a bit cheeky and negotiated a longterm deal off of airbnb 👀 Sorry Airbnb..). People have been so kind here. People offering us masks, sending us instructions for the washing machine, offering to guide us around, etc. So much kindness here.

Not sure if you guys have made plans to go to Tainan, the neighboring city of Kaohsiung. If not, I highly recommend it! It's a city with a great mix of historical sites/culture and cafes/shops run by young people, and the variety of food alone is worth the trip!

I think both of you all knew today there are 22-23 cases confirmed in Taiwan, most of them took activity in public of Kaohsiung because the military port is located there. below are those public places, please be ware of your safety before you go, 1. Hanshin Arena Shopping Plaza 2. Ruifeng Night Market 3. E-DA Outlet Mall 4. 家樂福鼎山店 Carrefour Ding Shan store 5. Costco North Kaohsiung (Dashun) 6. Sihwei Badminton Courts 7. Hsiao Kang Post Office.
Translation of the laundry machine: "Reservation" "Soaking" "Strong water flow" "Soft water flow" "Notification sound" "Wind dry" ------------"water height", "Soap Washing (minute)", "Water Washing (min)", "spin dry (強-strong, 中-middle, 弱-weak)" I don't know if there're more functions you didn't photo it, but usually you set all the parameters, then press "start" button (should be the most obvious one). The screen (with green LED) may show the estimated time. Or maybe you can search for the manual, if the machine model number is printed on it?!
I would like to suggest you visiting sun moon lake and taking gondola to aboriginal villages. Highly recommend staying at Shui Yang Boatel hotel (ask for waterfront view). That hotel also has discounted ferry tickets and bike rental. Riding bike around the lake in the morning is a must.
the "desk" in the master bedroom is actually a vanity, if you open it, it probably has mirrors. and it's mostly for putting on skincare, makeup, doing your hair. $28000 for a rental apartment in Kaohsiung city, in a high-rise, with views and amenities (the building probably has a gym, swimming pool, etc) is actually pretty reasonable. if the apartment is in a walk-up, or doesn't have amenities, or in an older building, the rent would be less.
Yes you're right haha. Makes more sense. The price is fine for a short term rental of this quality. Longterm rental would probably be significant cheaper, but then it's usually 6-12 months minimum. There is no gym or swimming pool though.

Lovely place! We're a digital nomad and just moved into our apartment about 4 weeks ago. Even though it's an old apartment but it's cosy enough to live and work. We also like that it's located not far from Siziwan, love river and the pier, great places to walk around in the evening. Enjoy exploring Taiwan ;)
Y don’t u guys also check out Taichung, the second largest city in Taiwan (overtaking Kaohsiung in 2017)? It seems to me there’s milder weather n as nice if not nicer city views in Taichung. They have a lot to offer.

I notice you touch the buttons of the lift with your bare hands. Just remember to wash your hands with soap and warm water (preferably) for 21 secs before you touch anywhere on your face. If the face mask still looks clean and dry, you can still hang it up and continue to use it for the rest of the day. Otherwise, just discard it into the bin and after that do your hand washing. You can call me paranoid but I normally just use something else (like the tip of the door key) to push the buttons of the lift.
I think those places took disinfected carefully already ( you can feel how we seriously XD), but I suggest you may postpone 1-2 week your trip if you plan to go. there are still many good place to go in Tainan and Pingtung . ( city near KH) enjoy and stay safe!!
We're staying in Kaohsiung until 8 May at least. We are monitoring the situation closely. If it is not safe, we will just stay in Kaohsiung longer to avoid spreading anything. Thanks for the tips.
Naick & Kim I do n’t think so, because the distance is a bit far. Xiao Ryukyu departs from Pingtung by boat, and the boat will arrive soon. The latest shift is five o’clock. If you want to take a quick trip, Xiao Ryukyu is suitable. hope you will be more Love Taiwan～

14:30 for the washing machine： The 1st icon counted from left means how much water you wants to wash the clothes. The 2nd icon counted from left means how many minutes you wants to wash the clothes. The 3rd icon counted from left means how many times you want to clean the clothes. The 4th icon counted from left means how many minutes you want to dry the clothes. Usually you don't need to care about these icons, it is enough to just press the @ button. If you like, you may also want to spend some time to google the same or similar models with English instruction panel.
Might be one of the smart laundry machine. where you turn the power on. put clothes in. put the detergent. Close the lid~ and hit start and It'll do the rest.
Very nice flat ... Even the price of 1K per month is very reasonable... If you could not turn on the washing machine I think you can wash your laundry in that big bucket in the toilet 😀

The rent is a bit pricey to be honest. However, considering short-term stay, the great location, well-maintained furniture, I will say it's just acceptable. Suppose the normal rental price should be only 2/3 to 1/2 of yours but like you said, it will be a total different case depending on how long you stay and in which district. Anyways, stay safe and healthy :) looking forwarding to you guys next video. I hope it will be a "nature and out-door" one haha
If you look at it from a local perspective, I would say it is indeed pricey. We saw some apartments on facebook groups that were usually around 16-20k NTD per month. But those usually did not include electricity, internet, housing taxes, water, etc or in some cases you had to bring your mattress and bedding, etc. But for a short term rental, the price is alright. If we compare it to renting a room for a short term (a week or two), the price is similar, but we get a whole apartment.
I think the price is definitely very responsible for short-rentals. Although 18-20K ntd per month is the norm for annual contracts, short-term rentals can be as high as 40k. Mid-range Apartments like this on Airbnb is around 2k per night, so I don't see 28k per month is expensive.
@@NaickKim It's bad. Yesterday we had 942 new cases, mostly from the migrant worker community. It proves that we have been treating them really badly by squeezing them into terrible living conditions. This needs to change.

Hi Jerry, We have hired two people doing the subtitles, one guy from Guangzhou, China and one girl from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They translate into simplified Chinese and we then also put it in traditional Chinese as well. They indeed deserve a big thumbs up ;)
The washing machine is very smart,that I have one in my house.You just need to press the power and press start,the machine will calculate how much water does it need and start washing~~（don't forget to put in the detergent 😆
@@NaickKim The Japanese "soaker" bath is "not" for stretching out, it is for "soaking" actually the whole family uses the same water, the father uses first, then wife, then each kid, it is for "soaking" to keep warm and tranquility, so you can say the concept is different from shower or bath, it is for "soaking" - i know as i was married many years to a japanese lady from japan and my 2 sons both still lives in japan
It is not necessary to wear a mask all the time in a very open area, unless some people around you . Kaohsiung is a pretty warm city compare to Taipei. Have a nice trip.

NT$28000 sounds like a good deal (per month) with nice views and well decorated rooms. But since I don’t live in Taiwan, perhaps someone living in Kaoshiung can tell us if this the average price for such kind of two-bedroom-apartment.
If it would be a longterm rental, the price would be on the higher end. Longterm rentals would be more around 20k NTD I think. This is an airbnb on which we negotiated a good deal. We're happy with the price and everything is included as well.
Notice 3:11 the elevator panel was covered with plastic sheet to avoid spreading of coronavirus. My apartment renew the sheet, sanitize the elevator inside-out 4 times a day.
The bathtub is too short for adults. There’s only Chinese on the push buttons on the washing machine. There’s no table and chairs on the terrace for relaxation (actually the small terrace is meant to be mainly for doing laundry). On top of that, you also found the decorative wood panel and its connected tiny desk useless in the master bedroom. Other than these minor complaints, you are overall content and happy with this almost brand new apartment.
Pretty good list. If you use bullet points next time, it's even more clear ;) You forgot that we complained about the washing machine to tell us to go home.

Y don’t u guys also check out Taichung, the second largest city in Taiwan (overtaking Kaohsiung in 2017)? It seems to me there’s milder weather n as nice if not nicer city views in Taichung. They have a lot to offer.

I notice you touch the buttons of the lift with your bare hands. Just remember to wash your hands with soap and warm water (preferably) for 21 secs before you touch anywhere on your face. If the face mask still looks clean and dry, you can still hang it up and continue to use it for the rest of the day. Otherwise, just discard it into the bin and after that do your hand washing. You can call me paranoid but I normally just use something else (like the tip of the door key) to push the buttons of the lift.

I think those places took disinfected carefully already ( you can feel how we seriously XD), but I suggest you may postpone 1-2 week your trip if you plan to go. there are still many good place to go in Tainan and Pingtung . ( city near KH) enjoy and stay safe!!
We're staying in Kaohsiung until 8 May at least. We are monitoring the situation closely. If it is not safe, we will just stay in Kaohsiung longer to avoid spreading anything. Thanks for the tips.
You live far away from the MRT station, and it is a relatively remote place in Kaohsiung City
It is indeed a bit more remote from downtown Kaohsiung. But we can see the MRT station from our window though ;)

Naick & Kim I do n’t think so, because the distance is a bit far. Xiao Ryukyu departs from Pingtung by boat, and the boat will arrive soon. The latest shift is five o’clock. If you want to take a quick trip, Xiao Ryukyu is suitable. hope you will be more Love Taiwan～

The 2nd icon counted from left means how many minutes you wants to wash the clothes.
The 3rd icon counted from left means how many times you want to clean the clothes.
The 4th icon counted from left means how many minutes you want to dry the clothes.
Usually you don't need to care about these icons, it is enough to just press the @ button.
If you like, you may also want to spend some time to google the same or similar models with English instruction panel.

The owner has a few apartments for rent in this building. In the end we liked the second apartment even more, although the views in this one are incredible.

The rent is a bit pricey to be honest. However, considering short-term stay, the great location, well-maintained furniture, I will say it's just acceptable. Suppose the normal rental price should be only 2/3 to 1/2 of yours but like you said, it will be a total different case depending on how long you stay and in which district. Anyways, stay safe and healthy :) looking forwarding to you guys next video. I hope it will be a "nature and out-door" one haha
If you look at it from a local perspective, I would say it is indeed pricey. We saw some apartments on facebook groups that were usually around 16-20k NTD per month. But those usually did not include electricity, internet, housing taxes, water, etc or in some cases you had to bring your mattress and bedding, etc.
But for a short term rental, the price is alright. If we compare it to renting a room for a short term (a week or two), the price is similar, but we get a whole apartment.

I think the price is definitely very responsible for short-rentals. Although 18-20K ntd per month is the norm for annual contracts, short-term rentals can be as high as 40k. Mid-range Apartments like this on Airbnb is around 2k per night, so I don't see 28k per month is expensive.

We have hired two people doing the subtitles, one guy from Guangzhou, China and one girl from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They translate into simplified Chinese and we then also put it in traditional Chinese as well. They indeed deserve a big thumbs up ;)

The washing machine is very smart,that I have one in my house.You just need to press the power and press start,the machine will calculate how much water does it need and start washing~~（don't forget to put in the detergent 😆

@@NaickKim The Japanese "soaker" bath is "not" for stretching out, it is for "soaking" actually the whole family uses the same water, the father uses first, then wife, then each kid, it is for "soaking" to keep warm and tranquility, so you can say the concept is different from shower or bath, it is for "soaking" - i know as i was married many years to a japanese lady from japan and my 2 sons both still lives in japan

NT$28000 sounds like a good deal (per month) with nice views and well decorated rooms. But since I don’t live in Taiwan, perhaps someone living in Kaoshiung can tell us if this the average price for such kind of two-bedroom-apartment.
If it would be a longterm rental, the price would be on the higher end. Longterm rentals would be more around 20k NTD I think. This is an airbnb on which we negotiated a good deal. We're happy with the price and everything is included as well.
I think that price is a little bit higher for living in Kaohsiung.

Notice 3:11 the elevator panel was covered with plastic sheet to avoid spreading of coronavirus. My apartment renew the sheet, sanitize the elevator inside-out 4 times a day.

The bathtub is too short for adults. There’s only Chinese on the push buttons on the washing machine. There’s no table and chairs on the terrace for relaxation (actually the small terrace is meant to be mainly for doing laundry). On top of that, you also found the decorative wood panel and its connected tiny desk useless in the master bedroom. Other than these minor complaints, you are overall content and happy with this almost brand new apartment.

These soldiers should have been placed under home quarantine for at least 14 days, same as the people who came back to Taiwan by airlines.
