an ugly building
Great video about this skyscraper! I think it's amazing how they engineered it with the hollow floors and tuned mass damper counterweight at the top. I wouldn't live here though, I would feel so uncomfortable knowing how thin it is, and the loud noises and flooding issues would make it very unsettling.
As with all of your productions, this will be brilliant. Keep up the good work 👍🇬🇧
Just found your channel, really interesting 🙂 what also like to see places in NY where the youth hangs out, and vids about the night life, well, once the pandemic is over.
Very cool. It's such a great channel that you're running. I am addicted to your videos. : )
Hi Ariel, looking forward to it, I won't be able to watch it live but will on catch up, many thanks for your entertaining shows 😘😘
I would not. I'm not really the type to live so high up in the sky, I get queasy. But even if I wasn't, I would not. They don't make buildings like they used to...
Would love to hear all the other stories about this building...Imagine the condo board executive of who's who. AGMs must be pretty interesting...
Dude, this video is so cool. I always think about the people who live in it.
Parece que ahora para construir los rascacielos en NY el cielo ya no es el límite ,es extremadamente delgado, de solo verlo me da vértigo.
I think it's funny that the building isn't actually on Park Ave.
I watch Million Dollar Listing NY and buyers go up in unfinished buildings in hard hats all the time.
I would not live in the building but I would love to tour the penthouse for the day so I could take in the 360 degree views.
Hi 👋🏻Ariel, what an interesting video! 🧡Architecture is constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible. In many ways it showcases the ingenuity of humanity and what inspires us. This video has spurred on a conversation about architecture, we were all wondering what happens in wintertime ❄️ 🥶Do chunks of ice slide off the building? Would the weather make the cement brittle over time? The view of NY from the upper floors would compel me to consider living there (if $ was not an issue 🤑)however at a ratio of 15:1....nope. Love your shows 🧡🧡🧡🧡💖
I'll pass...just the swaying of the building would turn me off. Personally, I think it's actually hideous with no character at all. Interesting video, Ariel!
I really enjoyed this video, and the style with which you created it. No, I wouldn’t live there. Too much downside to the literally upside. I do enjoy a high floor though. The highest floor on which I have lived was the 43rd (a Penthouse), located on 54th near 3rd. I had an amazing view of the Chrysler Building, which remains my favorite building on the planet, as well as the UN, and the East River. I don’t think I would want to live on a floor much higher than that.
I would definitely live there. It'd be like my dream came true, it's my favourite building in the world, everytime I go to NYC I spend hours just contemplating its magnificence, it's my phone wallpaper and much more... so definitely yea, I would live there hahaha
Not for me, counter weights, sea sickness; I'll pass.
The 80s neon for the title👌🏾. I see the trend explainer videos are doing these days. Oh, and yes, I would live here.
I actually like that building. Would I live there, yes
Great video, Ariel. I can't help but say that I hate this building and those skinny buildings that have popped up. I heard them referred to as "giant file cabinets for Russian Oligarchs". Great video, as usual!! I like hearing about the background stories on buildings - even if I take issue with their existence.
Not a chance would I ever live there. You couldn't pay me. Especially since it was built without an iron-based frame. What a horrifying concept, 10 to 15 years from now when it is in serious danger of falling due to engineering "technical difficulties" associated with materials and slight alignment issues.
I definitely would not want to live there. Too many unnecessary problems because of the form factor. Don’t go against the physics. 15:1 is a ridiculous ratio. Without all those active damping systems 😱, don’t even want to imagine.
I thought I would be bored but that was not the case you have a gift Ariel beautifully done love this .I would not live there .
That building is an Accident waiting to happen!... No way would i live there.
Very nice video!
Wow that was fascinating thanks Ariel 👏 and no I would not live in there - looks too scary lol
It wouldn’t be my first choice to live in NYC...I much prefer the more solid looking 53W53rd...now a video on that would be amazing!!
The architecture of 432 Park Avenue is a laudable achievement. But life for its residents seems tumultuous, with a touch of unhappiness.
would love to live there absolutely but the interior organization of the building is just a square with escalators.. it was not FUN to live there. Heard the empty floors are connected to FAR regulation as well? Next time wanna see the skinner, pointed building next to it (the one under construction recently)!! Also, LOVE this channel as an architecture student in NYC. ❤️
In my opinion, this is the best looking appartment building from the Billionnaire's row towers.
Thanks for brining up that 432 Park Avenue is NOT on Park Avenue. The former building on that property was a hotel with it's entrance on Park Avenue. There are currently two (2) address separating the building from Park Avenue, one is almost completely detached.
It is still one of the most expensive building in the city.
I would totally live there, I think it’s a beautiful building!
I know the elevators frequently get stuck because of the high winds tilting the building. If I moved there, I would get a place on a lower floor to take the stairs when this happens. I live nearby and I do like the ground level
Awesome bro 😉
Like it a lot, thanks 👍
It's ironic that this became a trash building.
Lmao 😂
Hi, I am Uruguayan, like the architect of that building. 😁
No, I'm too scared of heights.
Quick question, what are trash cans supposed to hold?
Life in 432 PA is so bad that we should give money to that poor people living there!
Ariel 👍
Great video. That building is an eye sore.
I couldn't live there I am afraid of heights and I think those new skinny skyscrapers in New York look ridiculous and ugly my favorite buildings in New York are the flatiron I wish they would remove the damn scaffolding on it so we can see it's beauty again I also love the Chrysler building embarrassing fact for years I thought that the Chrysler was the empire state building well I send my warmest greetings from Melbourne Australia Ariel keep up the good work
10 minutes to lift off!
I would not live here. This is not an urban legend: in a high wind the fright elevators are often out of operation due to excess vibration. For this reason some of the best contractors in NYC refuse to take interior work in this structure. This is not A machine to live but perhaps a place to fear. Great Vid thanks
Very simple answer for me, Nope
If you can afford to live at 432 Park Avenue, you can afford to live someplace much better. Boring-looking building, not inspiring at all. It's horrible that it was allowed to be built. It ruined the New York City skyline. Wealth can be a kind of poverty.
I’m broke so I’d live in it. I’d have to be medicated and keep the curtains closed cuz of the construction and my fear of heights.
JLo owns an unit in this building.
I'll buy it with mortgage soon 😂
And we didn’t rebuild the Twin Towers why?
No.
Why most of skycrapes dont have 13th floor???
Occultists rule the world.
THE TOWER OF BABYLON WAS MUCH HIGHER
Fitting for this toilet they call a city
would
No I wouldn't want to live there. I would rather have a house with grass instead.
I would not live here!
