Mechanical tones in Whelen 295 Model Sirens

- This video showcases three versions of Whelen's Simulated Mechanical siren tone available in the 295 series sirens. The video runs from most recent to oldest, starting with a modern 295 with user programmable tones. The video proceeds on to the “M” version of the 295 which came about due to a settlement with Federal Signal over the term “Q”. The video wraps up with the first mechanical tone available in a 295 series, labeled 295 “Q”. In the video I give a bit earlier date than my research has actually turned up on the “Q” version. It was likely made around 2003. This video does not show the Executor siren line which has a distinct tone. The video also doesn't show the alpha “M” and alpha “Q” sirens which share a similar time line and tone the 295 versions with the same “Q” and “M” labels.

Thanks for sharing, great video, and history lesson!

Could you do a video showcasing the different whelen catalogs over the years?
I'm working on getting them scanned in, I have tens of thousands of pages. I'll probably display them in image form on elightbars.org when I'm done. I could do a slide show video too.
I got a question about one particular 295 series siren. Has nothing to do with tones though.
Any idea when the HFSC9 went into production?
I see it in my 2004/2005 catalog, but not before that. Prior to that they suggested using and HFS2 with an second amp.
@@elightbars I do appreciate the info, bud. Just wanted to know for sure. I absolutely love that siren a lot. Idk why I just do LOL
Could you do a full demo of all tones on the 295HFSQ1?
They are pretty much like any other 295; the only difference is t3 is the mechanical tone. I click through the other tones quickly here ua-cam.com/video/a8esPlkSuFw/v-deo.html
I will do a video on each siren separately including the Executor shortly.
@@elightbars Awesome, thanks!
@@elightbars sounds like the alpha 12Q
