Didn't work for cuts unfortunately. When trying to perform a helix cut into a cylinder, it left faces in the cut of the object as if the curves are calculated differently.
Thanks for sharing it. It's very useful. I have a question: I want to make a planter pot. Conical, bottom smaller than top. That's easy. But how can I emboss a pattern to it, and that it closes seamlessly on the back? What ever I tried, I got weird results.
It's possible but take some work. I'd use the thinking in this video on how to put hexagons on a cylinder ua-cam.com/video/AYbnTJxNODI/v-deo.html if the pattern repeats around the cone, and this video on how to put text on a cone ua-cam.com/video/Pud1-mZBGdo/v-deo.html. If the pattern is more of a spiral style I'd use a surface sweep and work from that. What I'm trying to explain is that it depends a lot on the typ of pattern.
THANKS BRO. REALLY HELPFUL

Gute Arbeit, alles hat geklappt. thx
Thank you
Very Good, . . . I tied but failed.
I'm following this dude step for step and I swear we're not in the same program
kurz und gut! but it is not Helix in horizontal way, well thanks anyway
Helix in horizontal way? I'm curious what you are thinking off? A helix is to my knowledge a spiral in 3 dimensions.
