    Your video is very good and I like it and the questions you ask is the questions that we all need to ask and things need to be said but my concern is is how did you and where did you meet your interpreter to find houses like this or places like this to possibly to bye

    • @MatsukawaZaraki
      @MatsukawaZaraki  3 місяці тому +1

      Thank you! I tried to be as thorough as possible with the questions and information gathering, especially when it concerns a big investment and also personal safety in the long term. I was very lucky in that the interpreter was actually an employee of the city where the home is located so I was REALLY lucky that they allowed her to come and do the translation work. The main thing when finding what you want and need is to not get discouraged and keep searching because no matter how many times you hear "NO", there's eventually someone out there who's gonna give you a YES! Thanks for the comment and the view, and I hope you stick around for the fun!

    I would ask as much as you can about the house's history while you have the people there that still know. When they are gone, so is the history...

    • @MatsukawaZaraki
      @MatsukawaZaraki  4 місяці тому +1

      Absolutely! I'm excited to sit down and really chat with him and his wife, whom is the true owner. The good part is that this home and property has an immense history with the area as well so the two huge plaques out front of the property have a bunch of the history written down on them, and so I'm hoping there will be a bunch of public records as well 🤞

      Thank you!! It's in Higashiyamacho Matsukawa Ichinoseki Iwate. No joke, this was literally the first house I saw when I started looking for an akiya but I didn't believe it was really so cheap so I kept looking for a few weeks before I finally inquired about it LOL
      Longer videos are finally on the way and the first one should be up today!

    What a beautiful house & land! I love japan & the fact that 75% is largely uninhabitable due to the mountains etc! In fact my dream is to buy an Akiya.... And you're going to purchase this? My heart would say 'Yes" with no hesitation but, as I'm quite certain you know, there's a lot of work needed!

      Hello sir and thanks for stopping by! I definitely have seen your videos and we have mutual friends in the Bentons which I see you're located nearer to. You're welcome to come in the summer if you get the chance but it's a bit of a drive lol, it's located in Ichinoseki in Iwate Prefecture. We're coming back at the beginning of June and staying through early August so if you happen to make your way up north during that time I'd love to meet with you and give you the grand tour!

    I am very fascinated of Japanese houses and culture. I really can image be to live on such a beautiful village in that house. But I have to admit, I can not deny my European roots, and with that a proper central heating system would be mandatory. I've heard that traditional Japanese house are not very good insulated. 😁

    • @MatsukawaZaraki
      @MatsukawaZaraki  6 місяців тому +1

      You would be correct in your assumption hahaha. The good part is that mini-splits are very popular, as well as heated mats, blankets, space heaters, iroris, etc
      I think my saving grace is that we won't be going in the winter anytime soon which gives me plenty of time to work on insulating, and it's also more north and in the mountains so the temperature should be pretty nice during the summer when we will be there.

    Amazing structure and grounds. You'll essentially be living in a museum! I especially resonated with the "monk path" through the woods, just beautiful. Being amongst those trees would be all the therapy I need! I am concerned though, that structure needs much TLC to restore and ongoing maintenance, and so you have a super lot on you plate. Hopefully you have the means to hire some assistance, so you'll also have some time to relax and enjoy with the family. In any event, I'll follow along, and wishing you well! 😎👍

      It's an incredible property, and seriously, I can't wait to walk that path every morning when I'm there next month! 🥰
      It's definitely a big project, but it's also a long term one. I'm also hoping that by next year, I can find someone to live in and manage it full time while we're here in the states, but for now I'll just be hiring a management company to do the basics while we're not there. I appreciate you following along! 😊

    An amazing tour ! This place looks wonderful.Had a good laugh, when you were talking about the demolished woodshed and "anything extra", the translator consults the lady {realtor?), and realizes "a whole mountain ... comes with it". Another good moment was when you were talking about paying to go to the forests, and after the translator told the others what you said, the utter synchronized disbelief+horror surpassed the language and cultural barrier there hahaha I'm subbed, it's going to be nice to see this place getting worked on, Also, it was mentioned about additional fields, the 80 tsubo plot I think it was, something about a river, Is that an adjoining plot with river access, or something else ?

    • @MatsukawaZaraki
      @MatsukawaZaraki  3 місяці тому +1

      Yeah, no joke, none of us knew there was land attached to the home until that moment 😂😂 so it was a massive surprise to me, and yeah, I honestly wish I would have recorded the conversation in the vehicle on the way back into the city too because they were just in disbelief about how much different it is in the US vs. Japan
      I appreciate the sub man, like I said before, I'm going back in just under one month so look forward to WAAAAY more content coming soon for that beautiful property 😊

    • @MatsukawaZaraki
      @MatsukawaZaraki  3 місяці тому

      Oh yeah, also, the fields they were talking about won't be included in the sale since legally they can't be, but the gentleman said if I wanted to use them, he'd let me for free since him and his wife don't do anything with them. He said they are near the Geibikei gorge which is a ridiculously gorgeous place 7 minutes drive from the house and a 5K walk so I'm definitely going there as well!

    How much you paying for the place? Idk if you covered it in the video, but i couldn't find the info.
    Also how does it work with the solar panels sitting on ur property, do you get to draw power from it or thats just not part of ur property anymore?

      I haven't released the pricing information yet, but I will be soon in an upcoming video.
