WGS sounds better on its own vs the V30. As soon as the song start you can hear that the V30 sits better in the mix.
Nice. I heard glen fricker say he loves recording with the veteran 30 so I thought I would check out. Sounds awesome. I'll have to get one. Already have v30.
Have to say, I like the Veteran 30 better by itself... the smoother highs are nicer on the ears, but it still has a similar (if slightly reduced) upper-mid presence, and it has a bit more bass too. But once in an actual song mix the Vintage 30 does cut through better, and I think the slightly increased bass of the Veteran 30 is lost.
I bet they'd blend/mix together real well though. In theory you'd still get some of the Vintage 30's more cutting presence, and some of the added fullness from the Veteran 30s, while the overall sound should still be focused with all the frequencies they still share in common. If in a cab I'd put Vintage 30 on top and Veteran 30 on bottom (to help the ensure the cutting presence of the Vintage 30 still project well).
I like the Veteran 30..it doesn't have that hiss that I hear from the celestion...WGS did a great job of cloning and then smoothing out the v30 tone I think.

Seems to be present in ALL celestion speakers.
The Veteran sounds like it has a cold - congested in the mids. That's why it doesn't sound as good as the V30 in the mix. However, there's always that V30 fizz that can annoy the ears.
I play doom and stoner on my neck pickup, so that high mid presence that the V30 has comes in handy to put some chunk and definition in the sound. If I switch to the bridge pickup using the same settings on my gear, the V30 sounds like nails on a chalk board. All it takes to make a speaker sound good or bad is how you EQ.

@@AphelionBlackMetal the combination allow to get fuller sound. But ET65 by itself doesn't sound great for metal for my opinion. I have a comparison of them on my channel

Он убрал бубнеж, добавил панча и яркости. Я об этом запишу отдельное видео очень скоро.
