    Kudos! A lot of UA-camrs/content creators out there professing their knowledge (comparisons, recommendations), but you seem to be the only one who actually reads all of the posts and posts comments. You deserve some type of reward for your solid commitment to your channel and to those you post your videos to, use users and upcoming users. A well deserved acknowledgement to you by an appreciative viewer.

    How about a comparison with the Air 2? Some say it completely replaces it.
    Interesting video, but not a full and complete view. You missed a few things though :
    -availability of a higher capacity battery for the 3 pro
    - NFZ headaches for most DJI drones (has nonsense issues flying in outdated temp zones)
    - 2.7k transmission resolution for Nano+ vs 1k for 3 pro (why guess at whether the shot is sharp?)
    - vertical shot capability on 3 pro
    - available colors for each
    - video transmission tech on Nano + is called SkyLink. Google is your friend.
    - RYYB on Nano+ vs RGGB on 3 pro
    - HDR and LOG on Nano +, but not on the 3 pro. Odd that you didn't mention it since you included the spec in the comparison with the Air 2S.
    Yes, which photos and videos look better is a matter of preference, sure. But I'd rather have my blue dots look odd at higher ISO speeds on the Nano + than have high noise from the 3 pro create dots where none existed.
    And when showing the top of the fuel tank, the nano plus showed the dirt pattern in great detail, whereas the 3 pro had white balance issues that blew out any definition that may have existed.
    No doubt the 3 pro is a great move forward for DJI. It blows the Mini 2 out of the water. It's just not as clear with the Autel Nano +.

    About those different ISO images of the Autel at 15:00 and around: for me it really looks not the ISO based problem itself, it is a camera stabilizer produces smearing due to camera erratic movement. It is even visible what direction the camera have jerked by looking at the character of the smearing. You may not touch the drone in any way, but that won't prevent the staabilizer from thinking you are - some cameras even have a contact in the tripod mount that tells them the camera is on the tripod now to turn off stab function. BTW can you host full sized photos somewhere to download and analize it - have suspicion that DJI pushed too far with lens speed, so it became too soft at corners, want to check it out

    • @MihneaStoian
      @MihneaStoian 2 роки тому

      It looks like the lens isn't centered properly on the sensor, so it has a softer focus on parts of the image vs others - basically it's a QA issue. I'd return it.
      Image quality-wise, it looks like it does a LOT of noise suppression, whereas the DJI doesn't. This is very similar to the difference between Pixel phones (lots of noise), and OnePus phones (lots of noise reduction and 'watercolour' effect), for example. It's be nice if both would allow an option for no noise reduction.

    Thanks for the review! Clearly both drones are awesome, almost similar in features but the price I think is the biggest deciding factor here! I mean you pay $900++ and you get the Nano+ drone with a standard controller. But with DJI, with the $900 bucks, you get the drone and a screen controller! It's easy to pick which is the better option here when you look at it that way

    This is the best deep review of image quality of these two drones. Well done.
    We need the option to adjust sharpness contrast saturation on the Nano+ just like what we can do with the Evo 2 pro.
    This way we have full control of the image in post processing to get the best out of the sensor.
    Both Fly app and Sky app is missing this feature.
    For the Mini 3 I see a lot of chroma aberrations/ purple fringing around the blacks in your charts. lower quality glass could cause this. A good glass does not heat up that much, where as a low quality glass( maybe polycarbonate) when it gets hot it starts changing colour and affecting the image starting from the edge's of darker objects in frame.
    During the time of the phantom 3 and phantom 4 series Dji were using panasonic Leica glass. After that till today their probably using polycarbonate or cheap ass glass to cut cost. Average user won't notice this but the day you start using charts and pixel peeping it is noticable. Autel has always used high quality glass up to date
    Both of these drones need more fine tuning regarding image quality

      The Nano+ looks better at the first look, but when you start looking at the details, as pointed out, especially the details, it looks post-processed and artificial. It generates an image that is not real.
      It is one of those things that once you see them, you cannot unsee. Noise is easier to correct than artifacts, you can produce processed output from a noisy one, but you can never recover details from post-processed smoothed output.

      A mini 3 with the smart controller and extra batteries is $858 on DJI's website. Without the smart controller and a regular controller (offer comparable to Autel's) is $718 with the extra batteries. A similar Nano+ (with regular controller and extra batteries) is $799 on Autel's website, the Nano (non +) is $679. So same ballpark. IMO, the Nano+ is more comparable to the Mini 3 than the regular Nano (that's closer to the Mini 2).
      If you compare all that to the Mini 3 Pro (IMO, not really in the same league as even the Nano+), with the most expensive FlyMore batteries and a normal controller, you get to $1000. $1158 if you include the smart controller.

    So...from beginning you admit you made some stupid thing:
    Use RAW from one and JPEG from other...
    MY FRIEND, JPEG is filtered, denoised and also compressed !!!!
    So you made an unfair advantage to Mini 3, making your test highly questionable and giving us a fair reason to affirm you are corrupted by DJI in order to create an advantage.
    Re-make the test using BOTH RAW !
    And yes, I have Mini 3 Pro, but i do not like BS in here.

      If you had paid attention you would have heard that we couldn't use RAW because it's not available in the Nano+ in the 48MP mode...

      Also all photos that were captured RAW are converted to JPEG first before being shown.

    There is another big point, 10 bit with the dji.

      That was added after this video was recorded. It's also only available in D-Cinelog.

    The one thing you did not test is the ability to fly in wind. The Au-Hell Nano+ has a hard time flying in 20+mph wind ... the Mini 3 Pro flies fine at those wind speeds. This problem was 1st discovered when the Nano series was released. Some people lost their drones because they could not fly back against the wind. Au-Hell 'claims' that they've fixed this problem in a firmware update. However, I watched a YT video where the YT-er had the Nano with the latest firmware update, and it STILL had severe problems in the wind. Add to this that every Autel drone ever produced has a skewed horizon ... including my original Evo 1. I hope your subscribers are aware of these Nano shortcomings .

      We will eventually test wind resistance for drones but we want a more scientific method to do it.

    Autel Nano seems better except for the flying range, it only goes about 2miles before loosing signal

    You need a low-light, night time comparison. Nano+ wins hands down. Nano+ has NO GEO-FENCING. Must easier to fly without trying to get “permission”. I would never buy dji.

      We have a low light comparison, that's what the high ISO pictures are.

    What about a comparison between the Mini 3 and Mavic 3? just for kicks. The Mini 3 would crush the Mavic 3 with satellite connection 🤣

    • @PilotInstitute
      @PilotInstitute  2 роки тому +3

      We are looking into doing that. On the satellite side, the Mavic 3 loses to even a ten-year old Garmin running watch lol

    Random info: Just saw a youtube new video of a Ukrainian soldier accusing DJI of providing drone data to Russia to help them out in the war… pretty big accusation

    • @PilotInstitute
      @PilotInstitute  2 роки тому +1

      Both Russia and Ukraine have access to DJI's detection technology called AeroSense, which shows the location of DJI drones flying by either side.

    One thing you forgot to say is that the DJI has someone that can track your drone 24h/day. And can give this to the police. And the other one doesn't. I think that's what I heard. But someone can correct me if I am wrong.

    • @PilotInstitute
      @PilotInstitute  Рік тому +1

      Both brands allow for flight tracking when the drone is turned on. Both companies also for those flights to be stored only on the drone itself.
