I had my first telephone conversation with Dee about a month ago. It was a present from a very dear friend. I cannot believe how much I have been affected by Dee's teachings. I am calmer, more focussed and able to think about my little child in clearer terms. TAHNK you so much for being there for us Dee. Incidentally, my first audition after my contact with you, I got the gig! I don't think that is coincidence.
Dee speaks so beautifully, I felt like she was talking to the little girl in me that tries to rule me with fear. I need to understand her more instead of trying to shut her up. I like the thought of re-parenting my little girl, during Dee's talk I realized I've been too mean I need to be good, kind and sweet to my inner child - she deserves it. It helps to know that someone as beautiful and talented as you has had her struggles also. I have gone through losing my husband and my mother this year and my house burning down. My confidence was low and I was living in fear. I am working really hard to get back to my more positive self.
Dee is in some ways a worth successor to Florence Scovell Shinn. She speaks in a simple, midwestern way, saying some deeply profound things. The stories she shares are relevant. When I heard she had a TED talk, I immediately went to find it. Of course it was useful. The word "sensei" means "born before", with the implication of someone further down the path, who can guide the seeker. She is a Sensei. I have somewhat limited time for inspiring stuff, and I made room for this one. I look forward to additional TED talks, by her.
