Well if you live in EU and the majority of your country doesn't speak English, it's because those countries dub their pokemóns to their own language and then the children never learn english. I'm glad that my "3rd world" country didn't dub our pokemons. ps. its fucking stupid not to know english in 2k17
Misusing emotes FeelsWeirdMan But for real though, the casters didn't notice the bug completely. I don't blame them - whoever organized and directed the tournament is at fault.
Loved MDI, really hope to see it again. As you pointed out, there is lots to be done in the UI. Also the production team behind the scenes need to better communicate if/when something happens to the casters so they can better commentate on the competition. Big CD's is a really nice addition I like to see in the UI. The thing you said about jumping into POV's of the players in certain tricky moments would be awesome if they find a way to do it. Perhaps multiple streams so we as viewers can choose to follow only 1 team with a very small pip for the commentators and/or other team. Was way to much screen commited to non-essential stuff. A small banner displaying affixes, boss timers, etc could do the same job imo. And then free up that space for the actual game play.
I agree with everything you said except the battle rez thing.. strictly because there were times where teams only took 2 classes with battle res and there were times where teams didn't take rogues even though shroud of concealment is amazing for skipping unnecessary trash.. so I believe teams were picking for a multitude of reasons and I think that picking classes for strats is very viable... for instance taking a pally oakheart, very easily the best UTILITY for it but there were plenty of times where they just took different classes and used different strats for that boss, ie not even worrying about the roots at all. So I thin trying to limit actually strategy will just actually limit the amount of differences we will see in teams. But I thought the tournament was awesome and would love to start seeing more.
What i would like to see from asmongold is a host to the turney instead of a full stream at the same time. Keep up the great work mate, loveing your streams and videos
Battle ress is a utility tool like another though. I don't think they should change that. You can always argue something else like an immunity class wouldn't make you die in the first place, which also allow you to keep the 5 seconds you lose from dying. You don't see people running 5 immunity classes either, because you really want to have an extra stun or whatever. Some people run Resto Shaman for stun and interrupt, others run Resto Druid for defensive bear form and a ress and then there's people running Paladin for other utility reasons and nice damage output. Also the actual battle ress has a high CD and you still lose the seconds, so in theory taking things that prevent you from dying in the first place are still more efficient.
Couldn't agree more. I'm glad you raised some of these topics in a video and hopefully this gets a lot of exposure! I think there are a lot of issues to iron out first (imbalances between classes, stacking bres like you say) before an official in game leaderboard can be announced. I think that the seasons idea is a bit more competitive than the bronze/silver/gold system which I think m+ will need (the prestige value). Maybe there could be a leader board which is only available once you hit gold similar to how Hots does the GM ladder: you can only see yourself on a leader board once you have reached the highest bracket of play.
I agree on the bugs -- Blizzard needs to sort them out. I've been running high keys & what really bothers me is that Lower Karazhan still has floor issues with certain AoE spells. Starfall (Moonkin) and Arcane Explosion (Arcane Mage) still aggro trash from lower floors before and after the first boss. Every time then ran Moonkins in that Lower Kara during MDI, my heart skipped a beat because I was worried they were going to pull. How embarrassing would that be if it actually happened live while 30k+ people were watching. Just as awful as the cage bug in Maw of Souls. Love all your view points, thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Show when they change gear, show legendary and it's CD if it has one. and they added at the end showing the spec and gear outs that should be at loadout for each character.
I couldnt agree more with this video; I've recently come back to WoW after a 7 year "break" as a result of watching you for the last year and even i've been watching the Mythic+ Dungeons Tournaments. As a new player to Legion, watching the best players stomp through the hardest dungeons allows me to see how they use rotations, movements, placement etc and implement that into my own play. Blizzard dun gud but they need to up their advertising and marketing big time; nobody gives a fuck about Brewfest...
i think its actually a great idea to make a +17 these days the challenge for another pair of challenge mode gear/weapons like mop/wod.. never thought about that. it would at least make me very engaged about m+ and make me try to push it. since +10 is really the only thing you need to do today and its kinda boring only the challenge itself wont make many player beat the timer
Asmon, they had the invitational advertised in the launcher every time it was live. While I do think they should have made it much more visible, perhaps overlay the whole launcher when you first open it when it's live, it was still very much visible.
UI for tournament us terrible, like 2/5 of the screen are reserved for "blizzard logo" and just black-green screen. When is stream , who are teams , who are players? Who knows, we get no info about any of it. And probably most frustrating thing , we have no data in game who are best players in m+ on server , what is their time, what dungeons etc. We need to leave the game to go to some website to find out who are best players. But overall not bad for 1st pve wow tournament.
I hope they do some crazy/cool or different things and maybe when they do smaller invitationals like this or at Blizzcon, bust out an affix they have had in development and give the teams competing something new to work with and not something they now to bring a dk for mass grip for or Druid with stampeding roar. That's something I hope they surprise us with
Blizz should give an extra action button b-rez to all members in M+ and treat them the same as in raids. This way all classes are viable and you have to be smart about when to use them. Let the unused ones stack over the entire dungeon as well.
im totally for interface changes. but they need to do something about class and spec representation. nobody brings shadowpriests, enhancement or survival. like in arena it gets boring seeing the same group setups almost all the time.
To be fair, this is the first Mythic+ invitational while PvP streams have been going on for more than 10 years. It's a new thing, of course people will be curious..
Yeah, I thought Brez made the runs a little boring. Because if a team could manage to keep rezzing without running back or something, you basically know who would win starting the run as soon a team hit the boss first. I would remove brez completely from M+I, but would be glad with alternatives to nerf it so ir wouldnt be such an advantage against classes that didnt have.
I love the fact that they decided to take a chance and do a PvE event like this. I feel like I personally have a shot at getting in (tho I really don't...) rather than just knowing that I really suck at PvP, because I'm a filthy casual. :P I definitely agree with the reasons you already outlined (Able to know more of what's going on, etc). The positives really do outweigh the negatives, if there are any.
Lack of marketing in the launcher, an analyst desk during breaks, improvements to the UI (which was my least favorite part of the stream), better production quality (I'm surprised there was no option for 1080p on the stream); all great points. I think Blizzard could learn a thing or two from Valve's Dota 2 TI streams, they've had years of esports-broadcasting experience and it's always enjoyable to watch (minus some production goofs and other technical difficulties that can cause wait times).
I do a shitload of m+ and the main thing I adapted from it was those nelth pulls on teeming with the pelters. 4 FUCKING PELTERS. I just pull aoe, then run away and they just stack. EZ PZ was great to watch and tons of fun. Also mate, just wanna say I love the way the channel is going grats man you deserve it :)
They had it on the launcher that's how I figured out it was happening. I really enjoyed the mdi even more than the arena tourneys. Really excited to see where this takes wow pve esports I guess you could call it lol
About the bugs and "exploits", I'm a good friend of Mionelol ( the solo dk/dh ) and he told me Blizzard directly contacted Mione to get a list of what was needed to be fixed bug wise in the dungeons. It's kinda weird they didn't fix everything.
coz WoW is not their priority anymore, they don't give 2 shits about the quality of things. But hey, Battlenet has emojis now. That makes it up for that, right?
They should make a ranked system for Mythic+ with bronze-silver-gold-platinum-diamond-master-grandmaster ranks and also implement seasons with achievements and titles, that would incentivize even more people into playing Mythic+ and that way make the audience for the Mythic+'s competitive scene grow. What do you guys think?
I don't think throttling Battle Resses would be an OK thing to do. Other than BR the Druid has nothing. It is basically his only utility. Compared to a Paladin who has a ton of utility it just wouldn't be fair to basically take away the utility of one tank and not others. Full disclosure: I main a Druid. :)
Bring back CM in addition to current Mythic+ basically. Remember CM's didn't award gear other than cosmetic rewards. Mythic invitational is basically a CM anyways with the gear ilvl's normalized for everyone. Why can't we have that in game?
I quit retail to play vanilla and tbc, however wow has always been amazing with pve content and it isn't a huge shock pve tournaments are awesome. I even watched!
this is the first wow stream that actually kept me engage i used to do arena for a loooong time and even a 'pvp dude' like myself had fucking problem to understand wtf is happening i really fucking love it and as a tank i learned a TONS of shit ( because i play tank i hardly see other tank :-) i bloody love it
They should have added a fourth affix for the mythic+ I dont want to watch people run around in content current gear. I want to see them perform above and beyond what i expect myself to do
I like your ideas they really would make me watch the invitational if I was actually able to learn something from them with povs and ability cds and what not. having pvp and pve competitions setup like how the NFL does their sports would make it 10000000% more interesting and engaging. I don't know if they are trying to be different from that or if they just don't have the recources to do so but it would help a lot.
Do a video about the finals! I loved the bugs that influenced the outcome, not saying that FM did not deserve the win. The "cant release" bug has been in this game for quite some time, only way to get around it is to do a relog. Also it has shown how unprepaired Blizztwats have been, they should have procedures in place for a fuckton of possible things that could fuck up, they had none.
I noticed this also with the twitch promotions for the HGC tournament for HotS... It was very poorly advertised. Not nearly as many people were involved once they stopped advertising for even just a few days. Blizzard needs to make streams more known on the app.
Jim a bm hunter and im sure loads of others feel the same that there pet often bugs out and gets stuck causing u to not be able to cast your main stills such as kill command. Wastes so mucj time dismissing and summoning again
That is a damn good point! Has Blizz ever contacted you about anything? Even to say something like, "Fuck yeah man, you're right. Maybe we'll look at that!"
You nailed it. Team death match (aka arenas) aren't that compelling to watch. Make smaller BG maps and set up 6x6 BB tourneys for more objective based PVP and more casual viewers will tune in
Yeah they really need to do better PR if they continue this, i had absolutely no idea it was already going on. Also kinda surprised pvp in wow is so dead nowadays.

After seeing a lot of sub rouges running cheese builds, and some BM hunters in the invitational.... and Blood dks. I was really let down with the talent. I was looking to see individual decision making and everyone bringing something respectable to the invitational.
There were also streams of different languages around. China + APAC had around 40k viewers, US around 45k and EU over 50k viewers.
EU speaks english bro
There were a russian stream, german stream, france stream and whatever for 3rd world languages around all with hundreds and thousands of viewers besides the blizzard ones.
do you even know what 3rd world is?
Well if you live in EU and the majority of your country doesn't speak English, it's because those countries dub their pokemóns to their own language and then the children never learn english. I'm glad that my "3rd world" country didn't dub our pokemons. ps. its fucking stupid not to know english in 2k17
The viewcount was actually alot bigger, since there was alot of different streams on different languages
BUGGED TOURNAMENT OMEGALUL

Yo asmo how long do you think u will continue playing wow? If the next expacs are like legion u think u will have a long way with the game?
wish i knew what legendaries they were using during the tournament
Mythic + inv. has been on my loader screen every day for the last week.
would be nice if the ui showed bloodlust cd / debuff , combatress cd / numers of combat resses ready
There were over 35k viewers during the EU M+ Invitational on Sat.
this fuckin clown in the video almost that on his streams..
I agree on the bugs -- Blizzard needs to sort them out. I've been running high keys & what really bothers me is that Lower Karazhan still has floor issues with certain AoE spells. they need to improve camera view and also make it so we can see whats getting cast in some way to increase immersion.
Show when they change gear, show legendary and it's CD if it has one. and they added at the end showing the spec and gear outs that should be at loadout for each character.

I like the ideas you proposed for the spectator UI :)
The German stream had an additional steady 3-5k viewers btw.
they should also do a class stacking ban one 1 class per run, double war and double rogue was waaaay too common
i think its actually a great idea to make a +17 these days the challenge for another pair of challenge mode gear/weapons like mop/wod.. never thought about that. it would at least make me very engaged about m+ and make me try to push it. since +10 is really the only thing you need to do today and its kinda boring only the challenge itself wont make many player beat the timer

Blizzard learn from something? I'm sure they'll blame the guy who got stuck in the cage for being stuck.
How does he do that when he switches trinkets in the character panel?
I didn't know this was going on until a coworker asked me if I was watching it... Wish they had advertised it more, I'd have watched it.
Great video Az!
Why did he used all his aoe cds in the pull before the 2 bears (before 1st boss), when the bears are way more harder??
UI for tournament us terrible, like 2/5 of the screen are reserved for "blizzard logo" and just black-green screen.

You forgot to mention Slootbag's puns ;) Definitely kept the stream entertained :D :D
Some bad RNG for them there in otherwise RNG free expansion... When he dropped that line i almost died from laughing... That guy is really good! :D
I love the hunter disengage and DH fel rush DC bugs, really adds to my immersion Kappa
Maybe you can do a weekly video on the mythic plus stuff (if it go's on long enough).
I hope they do some crazy/cool or different things and maybe when they do smaller invitationals like this or at Blizzcon, bust out an affix they have had in development and give the teams competing something new to work with and not something they now to bring a dk for mass grip for or Druid with stampeding roar. 00:00 HE SAID IT PogChamp
there was a link to the stream on the launcher when it was going on
Hopefully they learned that ASMONGOLD SUBS RULE THE EMOTE GAME MOTHERFUCKERSSSSS
His emotes are really shit right now, I hope he steps up the game.
You are shit
normie btw haHAA
You are a really angry person.
Ducky1521 *lol talks about keyboard warriors, and is the only one who typed a 50 word paragraph. KeK*

I do agree that is too soon to say which is more fun or popular to watch
what is the m+ addon you use?
They have it on the launcher by the way. I found out about it through that.
thank you zack for making this amazing content. well thought out and structured video. exactly what the community (and blizzard) needs!
I love the amount of puns during the Invitational
HI youtube comments, what addon tracks his cds? cheers.
Woah playing arms warrior what happened to fury?

How many years have we had the Isle of Conquest exploit where Alliance could defuse bombs through the gate?
I see M+ invitational box next to the big box with brew fest and stuff. When it's streamed it's more.
Sacrolashes dark strike lego ring for affliction warlocks makes the first boss in vault if the wardens bug... so frustrating.
Wasn't Cathedral?
I'd love the m+ seasons. A mix of classic Challenge Modes and M+ would be my entire way of wow-life.

Hopefully they learned from the last 4 expacs
Arms or fury for pve??
I can't wait to see Asmongold at the next Mythic+ Invitational.
8:21 who is mary jana? kappa
Love these vids man, keep sayin it how it is!
I don't think throttling Battle Resses would be an OK thing to do. Other than BR the Druid has nothing. It is basically his only utility. Compared to a Paladin who has a ton of utility it just wouldn't be fair to basically take away the utility of one tank and not others.

17:38 I'm like hey what's up hello
Bring back CM in addition to current Mythic+ basically. Remember CM's didn't award gear other than cosmetic rewards.
Mythic invitational is basically a CM anyways with the gear ilvl's normalized for everyone. Why can't we have that in game?
I quit retail to play vanilla and tbc, however wow has always been amazing with pve content and it isn't a huge shock pve tournaments are awesome. I even watched!
Anything against Beer and Sausage?
this is the first wow stream that actually kept me engage
i used to do arena for a loooong time and even a 'pvp dude' like myself had fucking problem to understand wtf is happening
i really fucking love it
and as a tank i learned a TONS of shit ( because i play tank i hardly see other tank :-)

Theyve had an ad for invitationals on the launcher for awhile, must have recentley taken it down

Warriors having insane OP output damage is the trade-off of for not having an immunity.
Ayeee it's my boy
I noticed this also with the twitch promotions for the HGC tournament for HotS... It was very poorly advertised. Not nearly as many people were involved once they stopped advertising for even just a few days. Blizzard needs to make streams more known on the app.
Jim a bm hunter and im sure loads of others feel the same that there pet often bugs out and gets stuck causing u to not be able to cast your main stills such as kill command. Wastes so mucj time dismissing and summoning again
I hope you aren't dissing the Brewfest sausage hat 😉
I hope not too because some of the npcs in Skyhold are wearing them.
Congratz on the fox mount asmonbald
either bugs or content
make your mind.
Lol at the 4 button Arms spec
That is a damn good point! Has Blizz ever contacted you about anything? Even to say something like, "Fuck yeah man, you're right. Maybe we'll look at that!"
The M+I was advertised in the launcher... when it was going on....
One think I'd like to add onto of the Battleress issue are the racial ability of Blood Elfs causing almost every team being only made of Blood Elfs.
You nailed it. Team death match (aka arenas) aren't that compelling to watch. Make smaller BG maps and set up 6x6 BB tourneys for more objective based PVP and more casual viewers will tune in
I honestly didn't even know this was a thing.
Yeah they really need to do better PR if they continue this, i had absolutely no idea it was already going on. Also kinda surprised pvp in wow is so dead nowadays.
I couldnt figure out if this was a troll vid or a serious one. Eitherway, i like it.
M+ is the best feature added since Battlegrounds in vanilla or HCs in TBC.
john m you must be trash.
Because repeating the same dungeons every week for more than a year is fun right?
Blizzard should also limit class stack, watching double warriors/rogues every map isn't that good.
The Russian stream from Exorsus for m+ was awesome with all the insights
Really strong video , e-sports continues to prove a completely hot and growing area. Could shape future game content
I think the PvP event numbers VS the PVE numbers is more of a sign on just how much blizzard has ignored and alienated PVP players. I am suprised they even get half of what the PVE events get. I am willing to be PVP events could get even more if blizzard actually gave some attention to PVP
how do you make so much gold, asmon?
I want to see CDs and Trinkets too.
Leggos too would really help to undestand some of the pulls.
I hope they take half your advice, would make it much more of a spectator event. Fantasy Mythic leagues coming soon if they did...
The legion invasions are buggy as fuck. Mages will still dc when blinking from an elevator.
Watched the whole thing and didn't even get to see what loot you got :(
After seeing a lot of sub rouges running cheese builds, and some BM hunters in the invitational.... and Blood dks. I was really let down with the talent. I was looking to see individual decision making and everyone bringing something respectable to the invitational.
Kek
Love your vidoes Pyropaul, dab om em mages. The lore videoes are awesome keep them up.
