Correct me if I'm wrong but for older generations of Brits the term knackered is kind of offensive because it implies you are tired because of ..... . Doesn't it?
Hi Leila, how are you doing?? Thank you very much for all your work. I don't mean to be impolite but can I ask you where are you from?? I hope I could go to the UK some day and meet you. One phrase I use quite a lot is learn the ropes xD Best wishes ❤❤☀️
The very British phrases and words that I know are 1. Ten a penny - plenty in numbers but have little value. 2. Skip (n) - container of refused items. 3. Sleep rough - sleep uncomfortably.
a quick question - I have one neighbour from Jamaica, he keeps asking me all the time: "Wagwam, wanna some food?" Not sure why, but I don't think I look like I need some food. Does he mean something else?
Brilliant, Leila!....There's an expression I find very funny and I think it is very British: "How's your father"! eg I think they had a bit of how's your father after the party….. meaning they had sex
"Shotgun" doesn't mean the front of a car in American. It means, to sit in the the passenger seat next to the driver. Love the video. However, I wouldn't recommend an American to use any of these phrases until they've developed an English accent.
