      it would be disrespectful for her to be anything other than what she really is . a daughter, a sister a friend. she can be a mother to her own children. there's no need for her to a surrogate to others, they have a mother and it's the same woman that is Shay's mother...yall are so presumptuous and disrespectful. you dont just assume a role over your actual mother. blk folks are so lost.

    This family made me so emotional. The trauma and the gaslighting the mother does to invalidate what her daughter’s experiences of her are. I honestly think that all relationships aren’t meant to be saved. Unless the mother gets counseling, I do believe the sisters are better off on their healing journey without her.

    • @RY-os9vw
      @RY-os9vw 2 роки тому +3

      @@autumnmedlock2518 I think that Iyanla wanted to make sure that the youngest was allowing the older sibling to speak and to set a tone for respect among the pecking order since they didn't all grow up together and they hadn't been around each other much (there's a 10-year difference between Shay and her, so half of them were out of the house by the time she was a teen). I also believe Iyanla saw the root of the problem as being between mom and Shay (sister mom). Since Shay has more of an influence over her siblings (and is seen as more of a mother figure), she wanted to work chiefly with them. If she would have had more time, I would have love for her to work with the youngest 3 since 2 of them were raised elsewhere and the youngest went to prison. I don't think it was out of disrespect.

Like sometimes life gives you SOO much and I can't even speak on half of what she's been through but at minimum she bared those children and gave them a life whether good/bad. Every woman should be at minimum appreciated for that...my thought. I think she was saying she felt unseen for all that she endured more than anything, even though she couldn't come to a place to share it.
