    Do you have any tips for making a little extra milk for an older sibling (toddler) to help bust their immune system? I am going to be having a baby in a few months and would like to not only start saving some milk for when I go back to work but also to share a little with my older son. I also don’t want to create too much of an over supply but would like a little extra for my other child. I was thinking of just using the Hakka on the opposite breast when I feed on one side when the baby is a newborn.

    Hi Kassi! You've got great videos! I was recommended your channel in VHC where I gave birth 3 weeks ago, by the LC Robin. I have a question re frequency of pumping: I pump during the night and give the milk from the bottle as the baby gets really fussy if we get her out of the crib. Usually 2oz/breast. Is this ok as far as the overall milk supply is concerned, i.e. could it impact the supply? Could I also pump in between feedings to start collecting the milk for when I start working (in 2 months)? Many thanks!

      Hi! I am so happy you found the channel and am glad you are here! In general, any time you are skipping putting baby to breast, the best way to protect your supply is to pump for that skipped feed.
      For building up some saved milk for going back to work, you could add in an extra pumping session after a breastfeed. It’s a good idea to do this slowly, not adding in multiple extra sessions per day. Hi am running out of low milk supply so am top feeding my baby with formula as he is not gaining Weight. Do i need to do extra pumping after breastfeeding every time? Or how much time to do? And when to do power pumping to improve my milk supply?

    This is great! I have a 2 week old and I’m breastfeeding full time but in May I will be returning to work ( I might still be working from home, but not sure) and I want to start having milk supply in the freezer in case I need to give her bottle. Do I have to pump more than once a day?

      Hi Cecilia, I am so happy you found the video helpful. If your baby is two weeks old, I would focus on breastfeeding and less on pumping. You can store a little milk as you go along if you have extra. When you are ready to go back to work, you can start to build a small stash of stored milk, but you don't need a huge stash, you just need enough pumped milk at home to get you through one workday.

    The early days for me were horrific and the lactation consultant was hardly a consultant... My baby latched immediately but by 12 hours later, every time she latched she was getting nothing, she was starving and I had to give her formula... I had a csection and was put on antibiotics a week after being home and I pumped and dumped.. I've ate a good diet (I'm diabetic and I do high protein/greens/dirty keto) and hardly get anything (1 to 2 ounces a day) and I really want to breastfeed but she won't latch anymore.... So I want to at least pump and give it to her but I make nothing compared to what she needs daily. Help! 😥

      Oh my heart feels for you. The beginning is so so hard and it sounds like you had some extra challenges mamá. Your perseverance is admirable. You may find my video on relactation helpful for how to work on improving your supply and bring baby back to breast. It sounds like you may really benefit from some personalized support from an IBCLC in your area if that is something that is available to you

    Hi Kassi. I have been exclusively pumping for one month, Id like to throw in a pumping session to slowly start a stash, how long do I pump? And when is a good time after a feeding or before?

    • @KassiReyes
      @KassiReyes  3 роки тому

      Sounds great! Anytime you are not putting baby to breast, pump for about 20 minutes, if you are putting baby to breast at all, pumping session should be done after the feed.

      @@alemuniz5201 haha ok, i was a little confused. Yes, pump after a feeding, after your first morning feed can be a good place to introduce a pumping session, this time of day is when you tend to have more milk
