Leviathan is one of the best songs they ever did, alex should be proud
He’s right. There’s SOMETHING about those notes together that are just so full of emotion.
John was SPOT ON about that guitar part. Leviathan is my favorite EE song of all time, and that chorus hits me like a truck in the emotion center of my brain. Addictively good.
Jonathan said it perfectly, sometimes you just have to ditch the common recipe and just go with what feels right. And it shows in the final product, few songs ever flow as beautifully and as Leviathan.
My wife and I used Leviathan as the song we danced to privately as our wedding reception came to an end and our guests filed out.
Love that
I can't believe that's Jonathan's normal speaking voice I genuinely thought he just spoke in falsetto all the time my mind is truly blown
My thoughts exactly, I can't believe how deep his normal voice is 😂
Reminds me of John Entwhistle from the Who. Deepest of voices but mostly performed falsetto vocals for the band (Boris the Spider aside!)
I wish I had his voice :
Everything Jon said at the beginning about "that hook" being "the song" - I agree with 100% Immediately felt the same way when I first heard it (whole song is beautiful too)
Isn't it beautiful!
Leviathan is sheer brilliance. I still cry each time I hear it. One of the most artful expressions of grief I've ever heard. Thank you for this song ❤️
Everything about it breaks my heart. The most beautiful song I ever heard.
Very cool, best song in the album!
Would love to see the whole video, to the Foals one too.
Some absolute bangers on the new album. Much love to the EE boys. This video definitely gave a great insight into their creative process.
I love Everything Everything but oh my gosh the way I LIT UP hearing the intro to your podcast! I also adore Laurel Collective!!! They're both two of my favorite bands this is amazing.
I love levithan, it's really nostalgic and beautiful, the whole album makes it feel really strange and timeless..
It's so good
The song is beautiful.
Thanks for the upload. Great song too. The second take he did sounds superb too.
Great choice to make that the heart of the song
beautiful song
It's so good
Leviathan has to be one of my top 5 EE songs ever, it’s so hauntingly beautiful
Quote: "Mike does his best bless him, but it ends up sounding like white funk"
...just think EE could be the new Level 42!
And I wanna know what happened to your boyfriend!
That song came out when I was 7 years old - I'm 20 now and it's still one of my absolute favourites. Very thankful I got to grow up being exposed to such great music.
Cos he was looking at me like WOOAHH
