A SWSP-centric episode of LTSL was just what I needed tonight. The combination of seeing what comes out of Sarah's brush and listening to those particular tunes, it's a magical happy place for me 🩷 I can't wait to add the Nosey Coo to my collection 😊
Great video! It would be great to see Sarah painting in the outdoors as part of your other UA-cam channel. An hour just watching her paint would be extremely relaxing. Good luck with your vegetables!!!
I loved watching Sarah painting the magnificent Highland, long haired cows or is the correct word coo. I had missed watching her painting. Your garden always has fun things to eat. Thanks for another great video. 🌵🐕🇺🇸
you could put a small thin greenhouse along that wall beside your wood store, it would get your seedlings growing before they get the shock of a scottish outdoor planter
You’ll find glass houses don’t last long where they are I’m afraid. Wind speeds peak too high. Usually they build polycarbonate tunnels specially built to withstand the wind sheer. Not cheap but very effective if done right. Would be no point doing it on a small scale against house because of cost. Better saving up and building a sizeable freestanding one
Loved your video again ! Sunday night treat for me! You are both very entertaining, lots of fun and energy, never a dull moment, living in your lovely little cottage!xx😁
Sarah, the level of detailing for your art is stunning, so gorgeous 😍 I must also say, whilst watching you paint I was very relaxed. I think with Willie' music ( Autumn Leaves, beautiful ❤) there would scope for a mindful relaxing art channel along the lines you have created with your 'Sit with Nature' channel Thank you again for sharing this part of your lives & good luck with all the new veggies you have planted 🤞🏻 ✌🏻🧡🌈
I can't express the joy of watching an amazing artist literally bring life to her subject....good luck with your garden projects and experiments ...great video as always...Karl from eastern Canada👍👍👍🖌🖌🖌🖌
Guys brilliant vid as usual. Wullie the tune you put to Sarah's painting of the coo was fantastic and very relaxing. My hat is tipped to both of you 👏👏👏🤟🤟🤟
Therapeutic, watching Sarah painting, The ' Nosey Coo' will become a classic, but lets not forget how Willie's musical accompaniment creates the perfect atmosphere to watching Sarahs creative talent. We all need a moment in our busy lives to find stillness. I have found mine. Thank you.
Hi Both, Sarah, only thing I can say about your Highland coo is OMG WOW WOW WOW ABSOLUTELY AMAZING SO STUNNING LOOKING you are an amazing artist 🧑🎨👍 hope all your veggies grow 🤞 all the best Lin 💖👍
Fantastic fund raise for the Skye Mountain Rescue Team .. as a retired Glasgow Cop I was highly amused recently that the Skye Boy's rescued The Police Scotland Mountain Rescue Team 😂😂
Sarah’s talent is incredible and Willie’s music really complements the calmness of watching her work- great to wonky painting is back. As always big love to you all x
Bonny Hieland Coos! I LOVED watching you paint the Highland Cow, you are so talented Sarah. As for growing veggies, give yourself some grace. This is your first year of growing and you did nothing wrong. It takes a while to figure out what will do well in your conditions. Your doing great! 🥗🥦🍓🍅🥕
Sarah your painting is so lifelike 💖💖💖 beautiful. Hope you have better luck with the new plants in the garden. Coo dung is an excellent fertilizer by the way. Just make sure it’s dried out and add it to your rich soil. I’ve used cow and horse apples combined and got amazing results. Till next week. God bless and be safe❤️
It’s too cold to grow outside guys without sun. Plant also don’t like windy conditions. You might need to consider putting up a green house/small pollytunnel somewhere on the property, will change things for you. Or and carrots are challenging to grow at the best of times and in warmer conditions so well-done on one carrot 😂
We are dairy farmers and milk Holsteins, we love cows! But my daughter and I have always been intrigued by the Highland cow. They are so beautiful and fascinating, I did not know they were the oldest breed in the world. Sarah you are an extraordinary artist. I’m sure you learned technique in college but the classroom cannot teach your straight-up God given talent. The way you brought this cow to life on paper is something else. Your music is beautiful too Willie, and the pups are a hoot.
Big hello from Australia… I am from the USA and had a garden every year. With squash, they can grow in a large container but they need plenty of room. Typically, plant about 18 inches a part. They really do well in a large raised bed or in ground. They need sun but too much not so good. Sounds like this is was not an issue with your rather miserable summer. Love the channel. My Monday mornings start with a cup of coffee and SKYE LIFE …. Stay well and happy.
It was amazing watching Sarah’s coo painting come to life. All those layers of intricate detail resulting in a glorious picture. Your accompanying music wasn’t bad either Willie! 👏👏👏
Like others have said, so nice to see you painting again Sarah. I always loved "she walks she paints" l do watch them from time to time. Nori's gardening skills make me laugh, so like how our Springers were, so busy and helpful, not 😅. Thanks guys......Alioban ❤ 🐕🐕
Beautiful painting Sarah , such attention to detail . Lovely to watch you painting . Such a shame some of your seeds didn’t do very well , except the boys seemed to enjoy the carrot 🥕. Jumpers already . Brr 🥶. 😘
Maybe others mentioned this. As I am watching, carrots need sand. Lot of sand. They will grow better, bigger and more quickly. Glad you harvested ONE> YAY. 🧡🧡🧡
Yay on the jumpers! Love the whimsy. Seeing Sarah paint is always such a joy. The attention to detail is lovely and even though it technically 'only' took 20 hours or so, there are years and years of practice and hard work behind it, too! Congratulations on the carrot harvest, I hope you managed to use all of it up before it spoiled or you got sick of carrots 😂
You absolutely showed us how to make a lot go a long way. I knew 1 small carrot could go such a long way. Love to watch you painting. I have trouble😣😣😣😣 even drawing stick figures. I never knew that about the cows horns. Very interesting. The finished piece was absolutely brilliant. So life like and the colours were so exact. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
We were so grateful to visit Skye in late September of 2023. We are going to order one of the Coo prints. It's so awesome to watch an artist create, thanks for sharing that.
Hi guys your videos are a weekly family ritual and we all sing the theme tune, me, the wife and our dogs. Sarah your coo painting was absolutely amazing and have dropped hints to my wife to get the A4 version purchased. My favourite animal by far, well after our dogs Wallace and Bonnie (lab and retriever). Keep up the good work love the vids. We are off to the Cairngorms this Friday for our top up of Scotland and the mountains. Thanks again for continuing to share your lives!!!👍
What with Sarah painting and Willie accompanying her made for a very enjoyable section of your video. Looking forward to seeing you both next week, best wishes to you both Rich W Ely UK 🇬🇧
Great to see all your endeavors at Skylife Cottage. Wow, that painting is amazing Sarah. Your music is a wonderful accomplement to it all Willie, just perfect. The pups are such fun, and that Nori is such a pickle! Jack Spaniels is so good, and I love them both. Blessings from a rather dark and dismill - but still beautiful - West Devon, England, and Jilly & Madge. xxx
Sarah you are a very gifted artist. Your talent is absolutely amazing. I could sit and watch you paint for hours. Thank you for sharing this latest painting with the viewers
That Highland Coo is gawjus ❤ Hope you give the farmer a print, he'll love it! I think you're gonna have to get a greenhouse and cold frame cos the weather is brutal 😮
In central Yukon, we bend a panel of hard plastic over the above-ground planters (like a mini greenhouse) to help with temp fluctuations & cold winds. Some even close in 1 or both sides, drilling holes for ventilation. Built well, you can lift them off, also reuse them for years. The combination of your painting & Willie's music is sublime TY
You are my inspiration when it comes to painting. And listening to the beautiful music at the same time is just perfect. Please, please, please, please, more!!
Sarah that coo is absolutely stunning! I can't believe that you haven't been using tube or pan paints before now, your tubes will last alot longer than your pens.
Thanks for sharing your process of painting. Good job. Willie check with your local Agriculture Department and let them check your soil to see what it needs and what it has to much of. They can also tell you what will grow on Sky at what time to plant. You plant veggies that grow underground during the waning of the moon. My dad followed our farmers almanac and grew the most beautiful gardens.
We have never had any success with spinach, so good luck with yourss. I look forward to seeing how yours grows. Instead we now grow chard, a stronger and sturdy plant than spinach. Planted in the spring, and as we have a variety of other veggies coming from Peter's plot, most of this is cooked and goes in the freezer to use in dishes during the colder months. The chard leaves tend to be coarse during the winter (this is where the frozen packs come in). We leave the plants and in the late winter Peter cuts them down to the ground. New leaves are produced and give us a number of pickings before the plants start going to seed, after which the spring sowing can be picked. All in all, we have year round chard. So.....if your latest sowing doesn't produce what you need, may be our way of growing could be the way forward. Love the coo - looks so life like, Sarah.
Sarah I could sit and watch you paint for hours. Your talent is incredible. Those “coos” are so beautiful. It will be interesting to see how the new garden does this Fall. My Sunday is now complete- thanks.
We love the jumpers !! Sarah we love the coos ! Our winter garden onions, brocoli, and cauliflour !! late fall pears and apples. Oct is pumpkin picking. Enjoy
This year I did notice some of the potting soil was more peat than anything else. The veggies in there did poorly. In your case I suspect that wee bit of cheap plastic with some kind of hoop would change everything. Sort of a mini hoop house. It will take the wind out of the equation and add a few degrees of temp. I've used a cold frame with great success. Some old plastic and a little wood.😊 The music and the watercolor in this episode were a joy.
Sarah, it’s just fascinating watching you create such magic from your talented hands. Layer upon layer of beauty emerging from your brushes. It’s gorgeous!

It was such a joy to see Sarah painting again
Yessss!
Thanks so much!!
I so appreciated it, too! I've missed watching her paint. She is so good.

Great video!
It would be great to see Sarah painting in the outdoors as part of your other UA-cam channel. An hour just watching her paint would be extremely relaxing.
Good luck with your vegetables!!!
Watching a blank sheet of artists paper coming to life is very therapeutic. Thank you Sarah. And let's not forget Willie's musical backing.
I loved watching Sarah painting the magnificent Highland, long haired cows or is the correct word coo. I had missed watching her painting. Your garden always has fun things to eat. Thanks for another great video. 🌵🐕🇺🇸
Watching Sarah painting is like meditating! The Coo looks so alive picking its nose with its tongue 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I could watch you paint all day Sarah.
Such a talented artist Sarah. I love your work!
I never realized (until I watched you painting) the importance of shadows in bringing art to life! Thank you for sharing your talents with us!
As a non-artist I was thinking the exact same thing, especially around the horns. It was magical❤
you could put a small thin greenhouse along that wall beside your wood store, it would get your seedlings growing before they get the shock of a scottish outdoor planter
Great idea , they will see a big improvement in their veggie production. !
I was thinking about this too. You could build it from recycled windows and doors etc.
I wonder if the wind would do for something like that though?
You’ll find glass houses don’t last long where they are I’m afraid. Wind speeds peak too high. Usually they build polycarbonate tunnels specially built to withstand the wind sheer. Not cheap but very effective if done right. Would be no point doing it on a small scale against house because of cost. Better saving up and building a sizeable freestanding one
Loved seeing the Highland Cow come to life ❤
Sarah, to you painting might be work but to me, your work is magic
I love to watch Sarah paint!!! She is so gifted! And patient.
Good luck on the veggies! Gardening is bittersweet.
❤❤❤
Loved your video again ! Sunday night treat for me! You are both very entertaining, lots of fun and energy, never a dull moment, living in your lovely little cottage!xx😁
Aww thanks so much!!
Thank you, Sarah, I really enjoyed seeing the whole process of creating the Highland Coo. Amazing!

We all need a moment in our busy lives to find stillness.
I have found mine. Thank you.
We're watching your latest clip in our bnb in Inverness, while sipping whisky and eating some tablet.
We're off to Skye in 4 days. Life is good. ☺️

Sarah I would watch you paint for ever the bull is fabulous
The coo is delightful 🥰🥰🥰
Herbs in your climate really need a large amount of grit mixed in with the compost to help them thrive. 💖
Beautiful COO, your so clever 🥰love that painting, it looks real....

I feel Jack wanted Brussel sprouts. 🤣🌬
Amazing to watch you paint its beautiful ❤
Sarah, it’s just fascinating watching you create such magic from your talented hands. Layer upon layer of beauty emerging from your brushes. It’s gorgeous!
