    I fixed my semi issue on my l85 by removing the problem causing switch, modded the gearbox to araldite a micro switch to the side of gearbox. Added Mosfet with active brake, job done... No lock ups ever, fires semi like an Aug, full pull for auto..

    • @EnglishKiwi
      @EnglishKiwi  3 роки тому

      That's definitely one way to do it! Tbf I haven't had any issues with lock up once i installed a MOSFET.

    what what was the reason that the motor stopped working right? you talked about a wire. and it was shorting, grounding out the shots ?

    • @EnglishKiwi
      @EnglishKiwi  3 роки тому

      The wiring was damaged by I don't think it was shorting. The real reason for the motors death is that it was 5 years old, used extensively and was paired with a active break MOSFET which will be adding load to it, causing it to wear out faster

    Hi my blowback stopped working was wondering if you could help. In your video you mentioned was missing the hook and spring, i have the hook but missing the spring and the spring that underneath the splide is pretty bent up. does anyone know where i can get replacements?

  • @Lostnewbie

    Have this one been modded with a piston spacer and a v2 sector gear ? since i got problems with only half cycling in semi on a oldschool l85 with a ab mosfet fitted

  • @PerfidiousPuffin
    @PerfidiousPuffin 4 роки тому +1

    It was a plastic piston tooth, not metal I assume? Hence the gears survived OK.
    Did you replace the piston, or can you run it without that tooth? I guess one missing doesn't make much difference?

    • @EnglishKiwi
      @EnglishKiwi  4 роки тому +1

      Ah yeah sorry, I cut the explanation! It's a plastic tooth from the old piston that died last year and I did a very quick turn around fix (just switched the piston out to get it back up and running). I was meant to clean the lower at a later date, but, like the imbecile I am, I forgot...

    I am desperately trying to remove the outer barrel from this AFV, in order to replace it with a custom made one (with a thread) I can mount a silencer on. So far, I have zero success with it. Any tips?

    • @EnglishKiwi
      @EnglishKiwi  6 місяців тому

      If it's the G&G AFV, there should be a grub screw on the underside of the flash hider which will allow you to unthread the flash hider and reveal the 14mm CCW threaded barrel

    What MOSFET are you using in the video? I think it's either GATE nano asr or gate aab, but one has active braking and the other doesn't. Does it matter which one you usen in L85?

    • @EnglishKiwi
      @EnglishKiwi  4 роки тому

      This has a nano aab installed but an asr would work perfectly fine as well :D

    Nice simple fix then by the looks of it, the motor was just shot? Was that the original motor?

    • @EnglishKiwi
      @EnglishKiwi  4 роки тому

      Yep, The original motor had finally burned out. Not bad for a 5 year old motor that has seen far to many thousands of bbs through it!

    Just bought the L85AFV today to complement my L85A3 from Ares... sadly the Ares broke after it turned out Land Warrior sell defective items that were previously cannibalised either by another customer or somebody on the inside! As somebody brand new to Airsoft only having my UKARA a month I find this has really put me off the sport.
    Land Warrior and Ares don't bother to respond to customer emails.

    I've sourced a new gearbox for my G&G L85 as it's damaged with broken parts...god knows how the previous owner managed to do that I don't know so should be her soon....Not from China ;-) Anyway two questions. Whats the tool kit your using and where did you get the parts diagram that's on your table?

    • @EnglishKiwi
      @EnglishKiwi  4 роки тому

      The tool set I use is a set I got off of Amazon, unfortunately it doesn't look like they do them anymore, but there are plenty of alternatives out there. Have a look for "pc tool kits". If you want I can do a post about it on my Facebook page :).

      The new version is the etu version. It's been out for about a year now and is great! It's got the same great externals and build quality with a integrated MOSFET which fixes the occasional semi auto lock up issue of this (my) version :D

      I may be able to. What's the issue and where are you based?

    • @TWFsmithers
      @TWFsmithers 4 роки тому

      Based on the north west and the issue is G&G L85 single fire. Item is about 9 years old and don’t think is has ever been serviced. Have taken it apart and found 2 teeth missing off a gear and the piston ripped to shreds. Got new parts coming but the braking system for single fire is not working at all. Have replaced all wiring but made no difference and I don’t see the new gears and piston fixing it. Would I just need a complete new wiring loom at this point.

    • @EnglishKiwi
      @EnglishKiwi  4 роки тому +1

      Sounds like you've got the old old style of gear and piston setup. I'd say you need to switch the piston and gears out, then remove the active break wire loom and put in a MOSFET. Hopefully that should fix your issue :)
