As far as I’m concerned, you don’t need to apologize for the length of your videos. I’m here to learn and appreciate your sharing! People can FF if they’re short on time. Thank you!
If you have any pipettes or syringes they work well for topping off the fluid (getting rid of the bubble). You DO need a small, teeny, tiny bubble to help the glitter move around, but the smaller the better 😊
@Todd Boehly It's a bit hot today as Sun is out. I live in the Jungle area of the big island. It usually rains almost everyday. The town we are closest to is Pahoa. We live 3/4 of a mile as the crow flies to the lava fisher. Pele took a lot of homes.
I love it too. Kind of looks the purple bulb is his brain and when you shake it up, the brain starts moving around. Your videos are great so please don’t worry about them being too long. Great job!
Always there will be a bubble that’s just how it is. Helps the stuff inside to move around don’t ya think 🤷♀️ If you remember snow globes when we were kids they always had air in it.
Please, don’t apologize for taking the time to do show us a few different ways to do things in resin. It’s nice to see the learning curve at times, it’s actually encouraging. Thank you for all your beautiful content
I LOVE watching your videos and i don't mind at all how long it takes . It is really interesting to watch and hear how you work things out when you are creating
Very creative idea. ❤ I have a suggestion, I use a lot of uv resin, instead of putting the uv resin inside the mold to create a partition, between globe and skull mold, put the uv resin on the globe (before inserting it into the skull) in small layers building up a partition this way it won’t overheat and you can control the height of the partition of resin. Between the wall of the skull and globe. Hope that make sense.
I’m not a skull person however this piece of art is fantastic ! I love the snow globe & the colors. Don’t worry about long videos. Your explaining your thoughts out loud & as I said before I love you thinking outside of the box ! Fantastic work & Thank you for sharing
I am a complete newbie to everything resin and haven’t actually made anything yet. I have just subscribed and love all of your videos. This one was great, thank you from the UK x
Just FYI, your nail lamp has a 90 second low heat mode setting. This is what you want to use to prevent those heat spikes. It doesn’t just cure for 90 seconds. It gives the same cure as a 60 second cure, but does it at a little lower rate. Heat spikes, when doing nails, can be quite painful for some people, so that’s the purpose of this setting. I absolutely love this skull! Beautiful!
This came out so cool!!! I love it! I hope you'll do more with other colors, maybe with spiders and black and orange glitter for Halloween? Or bats would be cool as well.
I love that you teach something you have never do it inspired people like me to not be so afraid to try new tech and I love the fact your always so chipper. When I'm haven a bad I listen and watch your channel Bec you have such and up spirit love the snow globes
Ms Julie, you my dear are a ray of SUNSHINE and make me smile & laugh with you every time I watch your video!💕 You kept apologizing... no need! I was with you all the way! IDC how long your videos are! I enjoy every single minute of them! 🥰 This turned out amazing! I was crossing my fingers & toes plus praying to the resin Gods with you!🙏 It worked!!🤩 It is soo pretty! I love the Lrisy glitters so much that I order the big jars of them. lol Love the glitter you added!💫 This is INCREDIBLE!! Wonderful job Julie! 🤗 You have so much more patience and perseverance than I do!😂 Ty for sharing & ty for taking us on a little walk to the glitter drawer too! It was fun! 😊I Love this! It turned out awesome! ❤ I honestly DO love watching your videos, hearing you talk and explaining your thought process. You are such a breath of fresh air and do not realize how much you truly brighten up my days!🥰 You are too sweet and so cute! Don't ever change and don't ever apologize!💕 Ty for sharing this amazing creation with all of us!!💜 Cya in your next video! Till then, Take care!😘
I used my high powered LED nail lamp the first time I played with uv resin n it curled up on me 🫣. So I got out my older uv nail lamp. It might take longer but it didn't curl up. Slow n steady won the race that day lol
The skull mold is a fun one, I find! I made a skull with mica powder as well as some chunky glitter mixed into it. The deep pour resin I used took a couple days to harden, so by the time it hardened, the top of the skull, top of the eye sockets, and top of the nose all had chunky glitter on them. I thought it had a bit of a look like it had snow fall on it and those were the spots it collected because the chunky glitter was white/bluish. I never looked at it in the dark before I gifted it, but the chunky glitter was supposed to be glow in the dark.
I had an idea for the holographic sheet. After you cut out the shape to fit in the bottom, have a small hole so the funnel can fit in and pour last bit of resin into the hole using the funnel, to avoid any bubbles. Just a thought, not sure if it would work but maybe❓ You’re so creative with all your resin. I love it 🥰
happy women's day 2023 he best kind of protection that a woman needs is courage and the best armour is self confidence. I’m glad to see you have both of them. Happy Women’s Day to you!
LMAO That was just like watching one of those pipple popping videos where the Dr gets squirted! I love how the globe looks like a brain inside the skull.
OMGoosh Julie, you make such awesome pieces of art & this one is one of the best in my opinion. My daughter loves ❤️ anything skull related. You outdid yourself again 💕. Thank you so much for sharing your talents I love seeing your videos (w/no skipping ahead)😊💀💀💜
Please don’t change your method for shorter videos! I watch every minute! I’ve learned so much from watching and listening to your creative thought process. You are a delightful instructor! You bring light and joy to your work! Awesome piece and great job on this one! Great catch, byw 😂. Loved it!
I don’t think you should have to apologize for taking long. You’re doing the hard work of experimenting. And it is beautiful! I want you to know that even snow gloves that are button from the store have bubbles in them. So don’t beat yourself up about your little bubble.
You can also use a little bit of water with hair gel, instead of the glycerine. Cheaper and easier to adjust how thick you want the liquid. Because you can get the hair gel (large bottle) at the dollar store. I use it to make sensory bottles. Which is basically a glorified snow globe lol. And you can add trinkets too, beads, charms. Etc. which is why I suggest using the hair gel. So you know if it's strong enough to float the objects, not just the glitter. That suggestion said.... I LOVE how this turned out.
If those Christmas bobbles are a plastic that doesn't crumble when you cut the top off, give it to your dog minus the hanger. My dog absolutely loves to play with them. She carries it around like a soother and the clear one like she's blowing a bubble. You can leave it empty or fill it with some treats or kibble or material.
You did such an excellent job on that skull and make it purple the two things that are my favorite and I happened across your your channel and I really like you you're awesome I love the way you talk to us I love the way that you act you're so free with what you say and I watched another video of yours on another channel I think it was about the foil oh my gosh lady you are awesome thank you so much for showing us the things that you are trying out and knowing that you've never done them before makes me feel like I can do them to thank you thank you thank you and I love your skull I love it I love it I love it
Hi there. I've started playing with resin creations. I never thought of this, but I can picture it without the bubble, and full of different magnetic metal filings, and placed in a stand with a rotating magnet in the base or where ever the design suits, and watch the magnetic fields playing within the fluid.
I know this video is old, but your videos are kind of addicting to watch 😅 That catch, when it POPPED out of the mold, was amazing! I wish I could do that
This is amazing! The possibilities are endless using the glitter globe idea! I hope you do more. I’ve never done a snow globe or anything like this, but I do know you can use baby oil rather than water-glycerine…if you can handle the smell of baby oil. Other clear oils might be possible, too, but not entirely positive of that. Thank you for the video!
That is a very cute Skull snow globe..I like the holographic colors..... Brilliant idea. I love Skull. Leave it out for Halloween. What about a Red rose in a snow globe for your next skull snow Globe? ❤️🤩
I really like watching you because you're genuinely having so much fun it it's like I'm working on the project with you! Plus you're a real artist and your stuff comes out great!
Beautiful. Soapy water helps get pieces out easily as well. It doesn’t streak the piece like rubbing alcohol does. Silicone mold release has been a game changer for me as well.
In spite ofnall the socalled mistakes you think you made this is the cutest globe I have ever seen. Beautiful job as far as I am concerned. Get er done!
I think that's absolutely beautiful and with the piece missing down there underneath you could put LED lights in like that baby up that would be totally awesome that would be cute sitting on the end of a walking stick just saying it would be how beautiful I love it
Ok, I'm finally commenting now, lol. I loved this video! I never get tired of 'lengthy' processes when it comes to experimenting/learning with resin. I think you have a great teaching style, and I enjoy learning from/with you. I'm in my sixties, and don't totally understand the obsession with skull resin pieces, but it's a real big thing here in Washington State, lol. Different types of resin skull pieces sell like hotcakes here, lol.
I live in Walla Walla Washington and I can attest to the skull obsession statement. Although I am 32 and I am one of the skull obsessed Washingtonians. Although, I have loved skulls for a very long time. Long long loooooonnngggg before it became a widespread obsession. Things without legs or things with too many legs wig me out. 🤮
Julie!!! You fell down the UV rabbit hole! Yay! 😊💕 That was all I used for the longest time, as I was terrified of epoxy (severe asthma), but you were very encouraging. I'm glad I got brave, got proper PPE, and tried high quality epoxies - I love epoxy work! *Julie:* "Let's stop fussing with these little bits!" *Also Julie:* Continues picking off the little bits... 😆❤ OOOOH, look at that! It turned out *SO COOL!!!!* 😍 It's GORGEOUS! That's insanely cool! Okay, you've converted me! Need to get a skull mold! 😁 Please, do NOT shorten your videos! I SO appreciate your step-by-step instructions. You're a natural teacher and high entertainment. 😊💕❤💕 ~~~ You won't generally damage your molds as the UV resin heats up, but it *could* happen with cheap molds, I suppose? Your instincts are correct: do it in layers. The mold might not warp, BUT a too-thick layer does curve upwards as it cures under the lights, bringing the mold with it! Don't ask me how I know this. 🙄 ~~~ You can fill that bottom cavity with UV resin. Shouldn't take much. 👍 This was SO much fun, Julie! Thank you so much! 💕😊❤
love all your resin work everything you do is amazing but i miss you doing some acilic painting as your work in that tipe of craft was also beautiful hope one day we might see some more🙋♀
This came out BEAUTIFULLY. I love learning by watching. Skulls remind me that my time is finite. I'm going to attempt my first bloom; my first resin art I've ever tried this week! Thank you for your tutelage. ❤️
Omg, I absolutely love that. That is my most favorite piece I've ever seen!!! I've never even seen anything sold in stores like that it is absolutely amazing!!! I collect skulls and I have so many but that is the most prettiest one I've ever seen.
Glitter brainpan. Sounds like my brainpan, so I love it. What a neat idea. Just got this year's Sophie & Toffee box which is a skull like that. This is another one that I'll have to try. S&T suggested filling the skull 1/3, let it soft set, then another 1/3, etc. the middle third might be a good spot to stick the snow globe. Anyway. I love it!
A thought. What if you put in one of the little bags of water in the bottom and the fizzy thing above so when the bag burst the top already cured resin holds in the fizzy 😊😊. You are fun to watch😊
That's really beautiful. I think the reason you had a gap without resin at the bottom could be that the weight of the filled glitter globe causes the skull mould to flex and spread, leading to the surface of the resin being lower than after you originally poured it.
OMG Julie🤗! This skull is so fun and the possibilities are endless. Thank you for such a great video, I really enjoy the process of creations, so this was fantastic!!! You could do this idea with so many things. Have a blessed and joyful day Julie! 🙏😁🌻 can’t wait for the next video🫶.
The skull came so pretty, Julie. 👏🏻 I think the glitter isn’t moving around a lot because there’s too much glitter in the glycerine. I made snow globes over Christmas, and I discovered this myself. The glitter needs room to float around. My first globe came horrible. LOL Cutting the holographic silicone to the shape of the mold is a brilliant idea! I’ll have to try this whole technique on one of my spheres. Thanks for the inspiration. 😁👏🏻
This was a great success in my opinion! I’ve decided I have to invest in a holographic sheet and some plastic globes so I can play around with this as well! 💜
Lady Lady Lady you out did yourself. I know you laid awake thinking about how to do this - only a crafters artist mind can relate to all this excitement. I absolutely love the the skull. Looking forward to your next project

@Todd Boehly maybe once we know more about each other. Im from all over my father was in the service. What part of Ontario.

It’s a great way to learn too
Completely agree! A great way too learn ☺️
I agree!
Oh the "bubble of thought" gave me an idea! You could put little funning sayings floating around in it!
Every time you try something new I think "damn that's more things I need to buy now" 😂😂
😂
All snow globes have a bubble, so there is movement. Georgous and take all the time you need.

I am a complete newbie to everything resin and haven’t actually made anything yet. I have just subscribed and love all of your videos. This one was great, thank you from the UK x
Wow Julie! I'm not usually a scull person, but this is amazing, so much effort and a beautiful creation. Such great information and inspiration 😍

For arachnophobes...please, NO SPIDERS
Ooh for Halloween you can all sorts of things in there.... like glow in the dark slime of different colors or those little gummy eyeball candy.
I love that you teach something you have never do it inspired people like me to not be so afraid to try new tech and I love the fact your always so chipper. When I'm haven a bad I listen and watch your channel Bec you have such and up spirit love the snow globes
The bubble in the globe is good to have as that is what helps promote movement of the liquid inside
Love watching your videos even your first time doing new projects,no matter how long it takes
Lol, good catch! This is so cute. I love the way he turned out. I imagine my brain is very similar to his. Sparkle plenty, lol. Take care, xoxoxoxo.
Such a fun and unique project. Another option for keeping the glitter moving is mineral oil. It is thick and remains clear.
And just plain baby oil works well, too.
I agree Julie, I think it turned out amazing as well. It was a real labour of love and you were justly rewarded. What an interesting project. 💀

I always love when you experiment! I love the OOPS just as much as the WOWS. I'm only 5 minutes in so far but, that glitter is so pretty.
I'm not sure how you would get any movement without a bubble? It looked really cool watching the bubble dance through the glitter.
LMAO That was just like watching one of those pipple popping videos where the Dr gets squirted! I love how the globe looks like a brain inside the skull.

Oh I love love love this creation! I also love watching your long videos. Can't wait to see what you do next 😘🇦🇺
I like watching your videos. No matter how long.
You can use clear school glue in the snow globe too! It's a lot cheaper and does the same thing, just make sure to mix it well!
to thicken the water I assume?
@@Kevin24018 yes mix a few spoonfuls into the water so the glitter slows down.

Gorgeous outcome. Beautiful purple! Have a fabulous day!
You are too cute! Its nice to see everything, instead of just the "perfect parts". I love that you share it all with us. I appreciate you!

Please use mould release spray prior to pouring. It doesn't matter how nice your moulds are, it helps protect them over time.
So don't use alcohol after, just the mold release before & will pop out nicely?
@@melissamcgrath7599 👌do both and then after demolding & it’s dried, use the spray release to keep it pliable for storage. Happy Arting 🌹
If those Christmas bobbles are a plastic that doesn't crumble when you cut the top off, give it to your dog minus the hanger. My dog absolutely loves to play with them. I wasn’t a big skull fan…until I watched you make this. It is GORGEOUS. Love love love it!
I think the little bubble makes it an interesting piece! 😊

That's really beautiful. I think the reason you had a gap without resin at the bottom could be that the weight of the filled glitter globe causes the skull mould to flex and spread, leading to the surface of the resin being lower than after you originally poured it.
That was quite a journey. It turned out great!
OMG Julie🤗! This skull is so fun and the possibilities are endless. Thank you for such a great video, I really enjoy the process of creations, so this was fantastic!!! You could do this idea with so many things. Have a blessed and joyful day Julie! 🙏😁🌻 can’t wait for the next video🫶.
I actually really like the way your skull turned out. I'll have to try the snow globe idea.
Lady- you amaze me!! The skull is the coolest snow globe I've ever seen. SO cool!!
Now that was so fantastic. Love your energy ❤
Lady Lady Lady you out did yourself. I know you laid awake thinking about how to do this - only a crafters artist mind can relate to all this excitement. I absolutely love the the skull. Looking forward to your next project
I love your long videos.
What a great idea, now I have to get a scull mold.
❤ That was so crazy and fun! What a great idea to try and it really worked. Congratulation and Thank you. M in USA NH
I love it! Little tip with the uv resin. I feel like the lamp never fully cures it. I put them in the sunlight for a day.
Way cool video! I love the Skull as a snow globe! Very quick reflexes BTW. Made me laugh with you.😊
Absolutely brilliant video Julie in love with the skull ❤
AMAZING ! So clever! Well done you!! Can’t wait to see the next project! X
