My father who stayed in Musselburgh learnt all his golf here.They spoilt the golf course when they widened the racetrack for flat racing.It changed the locations of some of the greens and also some of the fairways especially down at the bottom of the course at Mrs Foreman’s.

It was introduction of jump racing in 1987 that meant the racecourse was widened to give both flat and jump tracks. In this video Seb played a couple of shots from rather lush looking rough, and that's the jump course which isn't railed during the summer. Ground is ideal for winter racing as it drains so well and location next to the Forth avoids the worst of any frost. I've been a regular attender and more recently a member at the racecourse, but as an occasional golfer really must get in a round on the Old Links.

I bet Rickie Fowler wishes there were "Major" prizes for eclectic scores.
I'm really enjoying this series. I find myself fist pumping and cheering whenever you hole a birdie putt (especially for the eclectic). Mind you, I've found myself doing that a lot lately. Thomas Pieters' clutch finish at the British Masters, Matt Fitzpatrick winning the US Open, The result of both the individual and team events in the Aramco series at Centurion. Each of these felt like a cause for celebration rather than just saying "good for them." It's almost as if I'm starting to enjoy all of this again.
So, for adding to this...feeling...I want to say thank you Mercedes-Benz and thank you Seb. This wasn't supposed to be a ramble but it sure turned into one.

The whitewashed building by the 4th tee was a pub called Mrs Forman's up until a few years ago (now converted to housing). Back in the day there was a hatch in the outside wall from which drinks were served to golfers during their round.
