On my R129 sl500, I solved the issue by opening up the throttle body and removing the metal cover on the side where the accelerator cable connects, (you need a security type torx bit to accommodate the pin in the screw head). There is a micro switch above where the spring is, mine had carbon tracking on the base plates of the micro switch that is just above the spring, I cleaned it off carefully without over sanding it. The base plate seems to make contact at an opening that reveals the spring. I don’t know exactly how it works, but after cleaning it , the engine runs as it should again, without going into limp mode and ASR light is off. Good video, I wish I had the code reader, as I cannot get one here in South Africa 👍

Sorry to talk about this on an unrelated video, but could I ask you a couple questions about the LS430 model? I have an 02 I am trying to sell. Wondering if I have a bad PCV valve and have another Q.

If you take it off and cant blow through it or the ball valve doesnt move its bad. It’s probably good. Other question?

@@Maybe1Someday ok I’ll check, exhaust has just been billowing white smoke on start-up occasionally. Also run through oil rather quickly. Mechanic didn’t care to even investigate
other question is just if you have ever had any VSC issues
