Great review! I like how you describe the shoe technology and how it impacts the bounce during runs. It sounds like the Sky 4 is better than the Sky 3. I prefer sneakers with that ankle support at 2:15!
Yiming Jin thanks! There are just so many shoes out there 😂 I decided to do the Sky 4, the Sky neo was just too soft in my opinion when I tried it half a year ago.
Nice review... I have the waveknit version and have similar thoughts on the shoe. It's at least 100g heavier than other shoes I have in my rotation, which was noticeable straight away. I also found them very firm - which is not unusual for Mizuno, but having run in the Sky 1 & 2s, these so far don't feel as soft under foot. On the flip side, I did test them the other day for 60min at 4:15/km pace and I really noticed the energy return, especially toward the end as I began to fatigue. Lastly, though it's not what I was expecting, I agree with your sentiments about having a heavier shoe on rotation to help build mechanical strength... and those lighter shoes will be great on race day or in TTs :)
Yeah, it seems the softness of the Mizuno enerzy isn't softer than in earlier models, it just pushes back a whole lot more. Can't wait to try it out more in the next weeks and come with a conclusion on how this shoe is. I like it so far.
Hi Lars, thanks for the review - I have been hanging out for this. I've used Wave Sky 3 for all my long runs and even some tempo runs and shorter easy runs. I agree they are a heavy shoe but that's a reality of the amount of cushioning. Plus I wear US12! But I'm keen to get the new version and keep using on the long runs. One question though - is it a narrower shoe than previous version? I've seen comments about this on Facebook.
I haven’t noticed that much of a difference yet. My problem is that my Sky 3 is a 10 and I’m now a 10.5 after an Ironman last year :) so it’s hard to compare them.
@@LarsIvarHenriksen yikes - I don't want that to happen to me - my feet are big enough 😁 I'll make sure to try them out before buying anyway. Do you plan to do a follow up review after you've run in them for a bit?
Hi Lars, whats your view on sky compared to the horizon , some of the users say sky is has the option to feel stable. If you had keep kinvara on one hand what with it exactly resemble in the stability wise Horizon or Sky for the mild stability being sort for ?
Hey! Well they are close to the same shoe, (or the Horizon 5 with Enerzy and Sky 4 will be close to the same shoe). The Sky has less stability than the Horizon though. Sky is a stable shoe for a neutral running shoe, while the soft TPU core in the Horizon is asymmetrical and thus gives a bit more medial support. They both feel great though.
The New Balance More 3 😂😂 I thing running wise I would do the triumph of those three (it is more bouncy), haven’t tried the torin 5. Torin 4 was very soft, but also very slow. Sky is soft but not as much bounce.
Great review Lars, I've never ran in Mizuno, so good to hear the tech & features 👍🏃
Thanks! I’ll do a deeper dive into these shoes in about 70k :)

Great review! I think you would like the Wave Horizon 4, great stability with a nice cushioned roll.
Angel Claudio I’ve had it for half a year :) its a great shoe. I have a review of it from February.
@@LarsIvarHenriksen Going to check it out now, thanks!👍
You should post your reviews on Running Shoe Geeks on Facebook! You'd get a lot more subs. You deserve way more! Great video and photography!
Guy Smith thank you so much! Maybe I’ll try posting them there!!
Really like your reviews, objective and honest. Could you please do a review of Mizuno wave sky neo?

Dom M. For sure! This was just a first impression. I’ll do a follow up once I get to 80-100k ish I think :)

Hi which color is this? Frost grey maybe?
Hey, sorry i really can’t remember.
Hi
Can you tell which among the three has max cushion and softness 1. Saucony triumph 19 2. Mizuno wave sky 4 3. Altra torin 5
The New Balance More 3 😂😂

@@LarsIvarHenriksen I have plantar fasciitis and need something very soft and squishy for someone who works long hours standing and walking
@@sumanthsamson6797 I much prefer walking in a firmer shoe myself. But the softest shoe you can get for walking might be the More 3.
@@LarsIvarHenriksen thanks a lot

kan du teste MIZUNO HERRE WAVE SKY NEO?
Det blir ikke med det første. Mange sko og lite tid ;)
What about breathability?
Airy in the front, bulky in the back. Check out my full review for more details ;)
You don’t seem your usual cheery self in this
Disco Matt I better cheer up again then 😂😀 thanks for the comment. Have a fantastic day!
