LMAOI thought I was the only one😂 I still game my sumo 2 a couple times a year just for the looks and gasps on the course. Oh and on the driving range it’s even more obnoxious.

OK, REAL EXPERIENCE...Gabe from "Let's Play Thru" did a random simulator test at the PGA store of a set of Head by Powerbilt Irons VS the Callaway Paradigms and the Heads won. Yes the same Head that makes Tennis racquets (designed in Austria). They were released during Covid and never got much traction but I bought them on clearance and they are amazing. Next I picked up the Driver with a Tensei White shaft on clearance for 100 bucks just for shits and giggles. I took it out today and it BLOWS my 2017 Taylormade M1 out of the water! ...I'm shocked. It made the Taylormade feel like a tomato can. I'll never believe the hype again.

I remember a certain youtuber who declared a driver the winner for 2020. Then put a different driver in the bag as he was paid to do so. Reviews are so much crap. A driver that works at 115mph may not work for that guy with 90mph. He can't get it up, no backspin and no carry.
The bad drivers of this era are the low spin ones. Hardly anybody can hit them properly. No back spin means the side spin takes over. I have seen so many people struggle with the low spin driver I could write a book.

Biggest regret is selling my Nike sumo square driver with a blue grafalloy shaft. Very easy to draw and was as long as anything else I’ve tried. What would be the best callaway driver you would recommend mate? I’ve been finding them easier to hit consistently from the older models. Handicap is 12.

Golfers: I slice the ball off the planet, and need something to fix it instead of working on swing path.

I don't know Sas the Alpha DBD 816 was a Goated driver and the fairway woods were money too. And 8 years later they are still pretty pricey and hard to find in reasonable condition outside of the Japanese market. It may not be the G400 Max level of forgiveness but from the sheer ability to move the CG on this series allowed golfers to get optimal distance based off of where they struck the ball. As many people do I traded in this club for something new and shiny and have regretted it.

I have to say I liked the Calloway square driver, but I gave it to my dad. And it was a match made in heaven, he is 77yo and crushes it 250yards on average, it is a extremely forgiving driver , I never got all the hate on it, those who cry about the sound are just petty.

Fascinating video and a real eye-opener! It's intriguing to see how the perception of golf drivers changes over time, from being highly praised to sometimes laughably outdated. Your emphasis on the subjectivity of equipment reviews and the importance of personal testing really resonates. It's a valuable reminder that what works for one golfer might not work for another, and there's no substitute for testing clubs out ourselves. This approach not only helps in finding equipment that suits our game but also saves us from falling for the hype. Thanks for shedding light on this topic and encouraging a more individualized approach to selecting golf gear!

That's what I did with the eleven hybrid irons, they are the dogs boll*+ks, most clubs are ok it depends on who is hitting them, and how they feel, who cares what others think, most average golf's are more about what's in their bag rather than what it can do in their hands.
    Golf snobbery
